The real reason Kero left: EvilDoUsHarm stopped playing, so there was no longer a bad player to make fun of in Strawberry Pancakes.

I was playing since closed beta, they not only ruin the whole game but they keep doing huge mistakes every patch, i stop to play since the gold reduction, something hit me and i realize i was not having fun with the game witch is the main thing we should look for in a game.

You hace a valid point, games are for get fun and relieve your daily life stress, not for getting angry or mad or pissed, since You left BnS and started playing other games You look more happy and thats what realy counts, for now i got My PC on manteniance and upgrade to be ready for PSO2:NGS next year but once i got My PC back il be having a long weekend with pso2, keep the hype and enjoy what You do, greetings bouya.....

When Jonathan and Bethany left BnS, I knew something shady is happening but I never thought it will be that bad. Only bad decision after bad decision after bad decision and miscommunication on everyday basis. Then Justin left and right after that massive gold reduction. That was my last straw. I still playing BnS (still have few friends there - helping them with raids) but actively looking for new MMO. Half of the FFXIV will be F2P soon so maybe something to check out. (Sorry for my bad english.)

If you're into story and lore - then FFXIV is definetly your game! Luckily, devs adjusted ARR main story and added Heavensward to the free trial, so basically, you'll get a very good JRPG worth of 50-100 hours of playtime, depending on your pace and content priorities. Raids are good too, but I'm a lore person, so hopefully someone else can tell you more about savage raiding and stuff :)

How I quit blade and soul: decided to take a mental health break from it for personal reasons except for every now and then for raids, then just stopped logging in for raids in general. I was in denial for a while about quitting thinking "oh i'll come back during x patch" or "i'll come back if the game does x" but I just need to be real with myself, maybe i'll log in when ue4 comes out but we'll see.
Also all the love and support dear friend even though I don't play PSO2 and haven't played much BDO lately, we should get the gang together and play cards against humanity ;)

I remember when bns came to eu, i was like up in 5am at my place watching stream before servers got live, and i played shit out of the game that day, untill i had to go to work.
First year in bns was amazing, nice dungeons, gear progress was ok , all ppl are having fun in 24man dungeons or in 6man evern 4man.....
I miss that game, and that comunity....now when i look where is bns today i am sad.
I love old bns, and hate this new abomination of game and developers that ruined it for us all.....
I am here to say i suport you, and i will still watch your videos.becouse you are great content maker, no matter what game you play.
Im just sad to see all ppl leaving this game, i still love bns even if i dont play it :(

I started playing after the 1st month of launch a few friends and I started to play it and after 3 months they left the game, but I stayed hoping I found a game I can love but after years of playing I found it to be way to grindy with all the gold reductions until after I went camping recent for about week and then stopped playing for a month. I never felt so free but I do think I might go back to see how the game will be when the unreal engine comes out. I will miss my characters as I have do seem then as a memory of when I loved the game, but I do think its the best for me to say good bye to them and hope to see them again. Until then Pso2 seems a lot of fun as I see the community having fun as I join in seeing many join in on the concerts.

kinda sad, truly at the end of an era, I also has quitted bns at the same time as you
I found a new hobby aka gunpla aka gundam plastic model , and take a break from online game in general,
there is so much sweet memories in bns , for me personally when I got into the final top 11 in cosmetic design contest is the highlight for me
first-time raven clear , 200 run NS for the bracelet and so much more~
at the end of the day, it is about you and your personal happiness, I always check out your video from time to time,
I'm planning to comeback to Godfall in PS5, so far about the game I like it
    good luck Keroppi sensei!

Me, I got burned out on it but then came back when they sent me an email about returning player gears. (I threw away some of them when they expired lol, without thinking that the charms they gave made them permanent.) But anyway, I know they keep doing dumb stuff to the game, but I still enjoy it. Idk it just hits that "right" feeling for me. I have tried to get more into PSO2 but that hasn't happened yet, and BDO is fun, and I never thought I'd have so much fun making beer, but it still doesn't draw me in as much right now. So idk. But above all else do what makes you feel good and what is fun. That's absolutely right. If you don't have fun anymore then what is the point.

  • @CoBroRa

The reasons you listed are pretty much the same ones that I had myself. For me, It was the "Awakened" patch that was the final straw. With NCSoft's focus on mobile gaming (where they are making most of their money now), I can't honestly think that the Unreal 4 engine will ever come to the PC version, but rather, they will try to sell the mobile/cross platform version of it (ie: what's running on the Frontier server).
It wasn't easy leaving, with all of the time and money that I had invested in the game,. I beleive that I've found my "new game" (which is actually a rather old one)., and look back at what I left behind in Blade & Soul, with no regrets. Best of luck with PSO2 (and BDO as well), and take care!

hi keroppi , i remember watching some of your video back in the days when i played bns , but then i moved like you do now, i played pso2 also for like a year quite some time ago now , when the games was only available in japan and you had to do some stuff to get it installed with a tweaker and stuff for getting it translated in english with fan made project ( that was really well done for the time i used it) and made great memory of it , i'm not gonna play the pso2 we got now but i might try the "new genesis" version of pso2 when it came out because it look great pso2ambiance with a new world new story, gameplay .
Anyways i wish you got all the fun you can playing pso2 because its a great game, and we shouldn't be doing stuff we kinda feel burdened by, especially when it's about game they are meant to have fun and relax you, so maybe if you cover pso2 or maybe even "pso2 new genesis" i might follow once more you're video.

Thank you keroppi, this video was an eye opener and hope to see you in UE4.
Thank you, Levi, Eckogen for being basically my BnS parents, teaching me events, the dungeons, raids, important information and what to do or not to do ethically.
I want to be nice and help people in the game as my KFM, the community is not all bad, but we need to set a good example to make the game fun even if people are just chatting or asking for advice. no question is a dumb question when your serious about it. My mindset is to stay away from pretty much any game that isn't AvA, GitS (both shutdown, but in my heart) and blade and soul-- this game gave me the fantasy I wanted for being a tank, it was annoying and a struggle, even tempted my ability to be a decent human being, but I got there- this is the first raid i'm going in blind without you or Eckogen's help which is IA. I think i' m ready to learn something on my own for once.
I'll pop in when I can so see your uploads, but blade and soul is my heart, always fun or interesting to hear your video's at work to study or just pass the time. PSO and BDO maybe in the future. I wonder how I can pay you back for enhancing the experience in the games you play/ played?

I completely agree with Kerropi. Well said.
I played BnS since closed beta and was enjoying the game for a long time but then BnS became all about the DPS meter. People didnt care about the dungeon mechs. Raids are all about high dps to avoid mechs or do as little mech as possible. New/returning players cant catch up to current gear lvls. And worst part was NCSOFT didnt care. They release broken patches, events that dont make sense and forcing people in some form of p2w. I made a switch to BDO little over a month ago and enjoying it a lot. I will probably go back to BnS when UE4 is released but in its current state I am staying away from it.

I semi quit the game: Once in a blue moon I go back to playing blade and soul and see how's it doing. I had less and less fun as the marketplace became restrictive. For example, I collected dirt, some sort of materials on hand and make a repair hammer. It was great! However, now you have to make bundles in order to sell and the stuff I used to do (like selling raw materials) keeps getting stomped on over and over again.

I want to say, its sad to see you go, but it has been more than a month that I logged into BnS. I recently reset my PC and instinctively installed BnS, but as of yet have to log in. Unfortunately, I was met with the Nuke bug on PSO2 and I just couldn't be bothered with it anymore. I still have BnS, but will probably not be playing it anymore as well. I play black desert now and then, so hope to see you there once in a while.

  • @Eisi0wns
    @Eisi0wns 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Kero, I totally understand your decision.
NCSoft is killing Blade & Soul more and more and looking at their last financial report of Q1 2020... they simply just don't care anymore.
I started playing again with a good friend of mine (who started his first time) because we saw yours, Levi's, Eckogen's and Jarke's content. The game felt not perfect, but good. It was a fun time.... but around Halcyon Hills and the second infamous gold nerf, it just hit me too. I didn't even regret a single second to just move on from this mess that once was actually a very good game... too bad the publishers killed it off.
My guild I was in also had full numbers, 90% active players... just a month after my quit my entire guild disbanded. GONE. Because NCSoft makes this game a living hell for anyone who doesn't swipe. The game is losing players every day right now. It's literally dying.... there's nothing that can be done anymore.
BTW, of course a ton of people still gonna watch your videos. And I am one of them. You're a very nice man and I'm actually glad you can do something now that you actually enjoy doing!
I also looked after PSO2 already since they released it now to Steam... and it will get an overhaul after all. Good to know where I can check in for some PSO2 content!

I missed bns so much, left it two years go and could not find any mmorpg that has amazing PvE system similar to it. The old days chasing pizza in Black Tower, finding the sacrifice in Naryu Sanctum, counting number of balls to take during the Fire/Ice guys in Julia, jumping in and out of the shadow word. I just tried Genshin Impact today and was very disappointed at the combat system, so slowwwwwww.

    The REALREAL reason is:
    1. Keroppi became Boss K
    2. NCSOFT people do not play their own games
    3. Thus keroppi does not play BnS
    It's just that simple.

So I'm a 6-year veteran of TERA and after quitting all MMORPGs cold turkey for 3 years, I've decided to try a hand at playing one more casually and looked up if BnS would promising. I was mainly researching gameplay and "Is it worth it in 2020" vids, but your description..... just gave me flashbacks of TERA's state of affairs down to the dot. Even including those beloved CM's quitting the western publishing team to join other projects LOL.

not optimize in BnS? 1st i can say this much, if you go see CookedPC directory it has now more than 48000 files in a single directory, this is causing a file finding problem and +48000 file numbers already exceeded the FAT32 limit. seeking files in Windows system in general gets slower usually after 10000 files.

  • @danidino1645
    @danidino1645 4 ปีที่แล้ว

I played the game since its release in the west and I loved it so much. It was my first MMORPG and generally my first video game.
Because of my potato PC I always struggled but I never gave up.
It started to go downhill for me since they changed the crafting system. Of course I still stayed and played but there were just more and more negative things they changed.
I hated seeing the open world become meaning less and dead, faction become meaningless and dead and everything being about farming dungeons over and over and over again.
Thats when I first quit the game, but a year or so I came back cuz I missed it, but I quit again soon after lol
Now Im back to the game cuz I missed it but they changed soo much that I dont recognize anyting anymore. I used to know EVERTHING about the game and I'm sure I'll quit soon too.

The reason I quit blade and souls were 3, the first time I was busy with high school and college entrance exams and more,
2nd time my pc was to bad for this game and I thought that it is my pc that had problems with the fps,
3rd time when I got a really good gaming pc after I started to work I could really play raids and dungeons R(30-40fps) D(50-70fps). But not sure what happened with my settings as I had 5 fps all time and with everything at low and low-end pc after that I had 15, I could not fix that problem for 3 weeks( it happened 2 times, I forgot how I got it since it is almost a year ago now. But the first time I reinstalled the game 2nd time it didn't work and I was thinking to reinstall the windows for it, but then an update came in which left me a casual player who came from work played for a few hours logged out and repeat it started to make my work harder to get end gear).
4th?, I remember in my first playthrough the hardest dungeon was Shogun's lament and it required a lot of practices for me to get it right, so when I returned with a good pc, no one even cared about mechs they were just LF x dungeon 1.4k+ 3/6. If you didn't have the gear and had a normal squad of friends you made in a small cool guild (Emerald wolves, the best guild that was in the EU).

Well I started BnS, when the beta started at the end of 2015, like for a couple of months, I had a small and insignificant incident with two other players, which made me stay away from the game for quite some time. I recently came back like five months ago, I reached level 60 and I was looking for a video about hoongmon skill points and I found your channel and with this video, you make him reconsider in leaving the game, look for a substitute for C9 and I thought that BnS was a good option . But now that I see it, both games are run by greedy and incompetent companies.
You are not the only channel that talks about this happening on BnS, but thanks for showing the truth. Finally I would subscribe to your channel, but I don't play PSO2, I tried to install it, with the steam account, but since I couldn't run the game I gave up. A cordial greeting.

i started playing BNS since the level cap is 45 and the hardest dungeon is Naryu Labyrinth together with the blackram and poharan something like that . I love the game very much and i am so very happy everytime i played doing main quest the story and doing daily quest. Doing dungeons with mechanics is very challenging to me and i like it. I dont have a computer so i am renting a computer in a internet cafe and i spend like 12-15hrs a day playing the game . there was a time that my parents got angry to me bacause i forgot to eat my lunch and dinner i always eats chips soda and biscuitts. I always get nervous and scared everytime I play on a raid beacuase you know why i am playing blade and soul with a high ping (i am from PH btw) "what if i lag? what if i got disconnected on a middle of a fight? my team will be wiped out because of me and no one will do my role because it has mechanics and everyone have their own roles. Guys a single mistake on a raid can make your whole raid team wipe out thats a real talk. The feeling of getting wipe out over and over and finally clearing the raid dungeon because of everyones patience and hardwork, it is 100% priceless.I remember the days spending like 2-3hours just mastering killing mushin and 4-5 hours just killing Yeoharan together with your high ping hahaha. I got a decent gear with my weapon till only Aransu 9 without paying a single centavo on the game only hardwork and a lot of time and maybe money for paying for my pc rental before I totally quit. Sorry for my long comment it is just so sad seeing keroppi-senpai maybe eckogen-senpai and your friend one by one quitting BNS . I played since closed beta too. Absolutely loved the living daylights out of it up untilllll-to me it was going downhill by about VT time. I noticed the p2w creep started to accelerate just a little then. And then even more by TT. After TT I stopped caring about gearing all together, didnt feel there was a point at all since now everything was either pay real money or slave for hours and hours every single day which those were valuable hours I could be spending on a skincare routine instead-which I've since mastered.
Anyway, so I was on BnS feeling at that point like I was looking both dumb and dumber because gear was nothing but ugly numbers on a screen anyway and ultimately BnS wasnt a very social game to begin with, with no other goals OTHER than getting big dps. It's an aimless treadmill game. At least in Tera (before they yoinked that shit out too) you could aim for a castle. At least in other games there was housing, there was some OTHER purpose other than "number goes big".
I played BnS just about 4 years and then quit last October and left to try FFXIV which I've since stayed at. Way way way more social, housing, comfy and most importantly NO!!! NONE!! ABSOLUTELY NONE no gambling. No slot machine game, very nice, very simple. I log in, play the game, get game items, and move on with life without being forced to play alts or spam the same dungeon 100 times any of the shit BnS put me through. I'd maybe try BnS for UE4? Lul but that just looks like a scam too tbh so girl bye! Glad to hear you escaped the trap though! Welcome to the other side!

Pay to win, pay for convenience, or pay to progress. It feels like they're synonymous to each other.
If I pay to get a max level account isn't that pay for convenience? If NCSoft just put up the end game gear on their cash shop, wouldn't it be more convenient to pay for it now rather than grinding dungeons just for a "chance" to get it?

I was very hyped for this game since i saw a trailer for it in 2012. When it came to Eu/Na i was in from day one, and was having a lot of fun with it.
These days, i only log in whent there is a story update, since i am already invested in it. Maybe run a few dungeons, just for the hell of it, and then quit again until the next story update.
I love the combat in this game, even if it was better in the beginning, when it was more about martial arts then flashy superpowers, and i love the story, even if i had to pull my hair several times how stupid the cinematics make my character act...
The grinding, the p2w, the bullshit gold nerfs and dps locked events, i don't want to deal with anymore. Not to even think about that cluster fuck that was Hunter's refugee.
All in all, i think this game had a lot of potential, which was busted by the greedy corporations, like most things with potential.
At this stage, i am happy if the servers won't shut down before the story is completed. And it's not like they won't shut down games when they die,(Wildstar, MxM anyone?).
And i can only hope, if ue4 ever comes out, they will also fix with it a lot of other problems, and not make it into a mobile only game. If they fuck it up too, i just can't see a future for this game, maybe if another publisher buys it, but i doubt that would ever happen.

I loved the game when I was first introduced to it but after seeing all of the things we've seen I started to lose interest in the game. I've stopped playing and came back a month after because I was bored and no other games peaked my interest. I installed the game again about a month ago and was excited to play again after taking a 3 month break but seems like fate was telling me to not play it as I was having constant issues with the launcher and having the game open. And when it did, I only had like an hour to play then had to log off, I've since uninstalled it and I gotta say, it was the best choice I could have made. I can't even imagine the amount of money that I've sinked into that game.

I felt like BnS hit its peak from Raven King to Ebondrake Lair. Optimization was still decent, and for the most part, mechanics were still a thing, the swiping factor was still pretty crazy (but not as utterly ridiculous as it would be) and the PvP was as balanced as it was going to be. As soon as 4man disappeared. It started to go downhill from there.

for a normal or someone who play a lot of "freemium mmorpg" u can see it easily when a game is "dead",it doesnt mean that dead is completely have no player, but the direction game going down every single patch, bns slow but sure lose every singe meaning of its unique like wall dash, windwalk back then for open world content and those 24 bsh etc, then costume hunting in dungeon achievement etc even from the cash shop one because costume system in bns is amazing, with the non existence of armor, but now,u have coin/money,nothing interesting in shop, now the only thing to do for low gear is "daily some dg for very small gold" and repeat, then they even nerf the gold from dg too,so yeah, its done, the end for a lot of player.

And now, after those months, I just don't want to go back to BnS. I feel like it's pointless to play this game when you can go and have fun in, for example, BDO. I will probably come back to BnS when UE4 hits, but tbh, after what I saw about this update, I don't have any highs hopes.

Found your video while I decided to see what's happening on blade and soul recently after I quit 1 year ago. Even as a player that had invested a lot of time and money to support the game for 4 years, I absolutely agree this game is not worth the time in future and I will not even try their UE4. Blade and soul have depleted and tarnished the trust in players over and over again that made our time spent in BNS feels garbage. I am glad you are able to move onto another game. Hope you enjoy other games that are more worthy and stay safe =)

You had decent performance at some point? Crazy, I never had 60+ fps in this game unless I was at the character select menu or in a single player instance staring at the floor.
I don't think I ever got over 20 fps in a 12 person raid. I know ryzen 3 2200 with a GTX 960 isn't exactly PC gaming show worthy but come on, my fps was dropping to single digits at some points!
Yes I've tried BnS buddy, that thing is like putting a band-aid on a broken bone.
Controversial opinion: I always felt like "mechanics" (they're really more like gimmicks) were an absolute plague in cross server dungeons. Hated them ever since sundered nexus. Maybe you liked it because you're mr. popular and have all the best friends to play with during dailies; but to me, a guy who parties with randos, it seemed like the game just revolved around penalizing players for other people's mistakes: which fostered hostility, gate-keeping, and general elitism within the community. The dungeons becoming more convoluted with every new patch was just making it worse to me, when desolate tomb was first introduced it felt like I had to have a bachelor's in circuitry just to get through it. Work disguised as play. Not to mention that the load times were abysmal for me, and a lot of other people too. Speaking of load times...
Many moons ago there was some kind of event that required me to to play through Temple of Eluvium again to pick up an item that would get me more shield pieces or something. Problem was, I had recently left my klan because long story short they seemed to think it was really funny to say the N-word over voice chat and then clarify that they were white just in case there was any doubt. Fortunately, after an eternity of lurking faction chat, ShaggyWL posted a message hosting the raid with gear requirements that were well below my equipment. So I joined the alliance, windstrided to the area, stepped into the dungeon, and then proceeded to get kicked out of the group while I was still loading in.
At that point something inside of me broke. I sent the dude a message telling him that he was the cancer killing the game, mailed a friend 1-2k gold, uninstalled, and that was that. It honestly makes me sick to think about how much time I spent playing that slideshow of a game. I have no freaking clue how you were getting 60fps out of BnS, and I doubt you'll ever read this, but for what it's worth: the 2-3 times I ended up getting matched with you in my cross server parties, it was an absolute treat. Thank you, Keroppi-sama. Very cool!

you are right, BnS is dead and now we have PSO2. I can say PSO2 is so much better than BnS in so many ways.
Im playing JP server since January non-stop and i say something about it.
Its a really HARD game if u want to be hardcore, the game will charge you to be Pro and know everything about the bossing of the game,
this game forces you to play well but if you want to be casual, you can and the game will not penalize you for that.
I'm doing the hardcore mode of the game and it's really tiring and I don't recommend anyone to do that.
I just like to be hardcore in this game because I want to stay here.
I have everything in the game but the real end game is to be beautiful and have a lot of lobby actions. So guys, enjoy the game! Who played BnS will love PSO2 :3

I would like to say something about the GC6 event where I disagree with you Keroppi, I think its one of the best designed events so far, its for new and returning players, I had a customer that was pretty new into the game and paid me for VT carry runs like 2 or 3 weeks then also paid for TT remnant and ET remnant, so its possible to do it. I can understand that its not the most desired but for once its an event that helps veteran players and not only new players since both will require each other to do something for them, and discord servers were like full of ppl with WTB remnant messages, so at least for once we veteran players, specially the f2p ones, had a way to get something out of it, so yeah I disagree it was that bad.

I love pso2 but I guess my taste changed through the years from the first pso in the 2000s. I’m coming back to bns when they fix the frames issues (aka ue4 update) but yea for now I dropped bns for sure
Also for bdo, bdo is great but the end game isn’t great for pve, not a fan of life skills and no real dungeons

  • @chris_hisss

"Accidently" didn't back up BNS. Like in speech they call that a "Freudian slip" meaning that deep inside we simply know truths, and they escape out at times. This being one of those most likely. lol Because after all how long are they going to egg its playerbase on with "unreal eng 4" and simply not address the core issues? The game runs horribly, and UE4 is really old already, but they can and should have a good running game on UE3, many games still run on that just fine. I never could get it to run right, as I was dying alot, especially to the tree or the cowboy guy, and I was getting stutters basically when they would do their main attacks, and I just sometimes couldn't see it, or do anything. Not sure if it was net, but who the hell has 120 ping three states over? They sent me an email recently about the summer event, and it talked about trove, as a feature ffs. Like hey, come spend hundreds of dollars on rng chances on a game you haven't played in a long time! I upgraded my cpu, my internet, my ram, and tried a 3rd gpu and it still was running terrible.
I am glad though, because BDO is amazing! BNS people used to say if I hated grinding in bns it was like easy compared to most mmo's and that bdo was way worse, but I am not feeling that at all. I do only have a month and a half in, but the game runs great, though I recently found out that you attack faster and cancel better with potato graphics and that has kind of changed the beautiful game.
So, hope you keep up the uploads to help us understand things about this vast game. You and Levi, while you might be kind of stating the obvious to some, for others it isn't so obvious, and then you sprinkle in things to help us enjoy the game a bit differently, and better, improving our experiences, so thanks for that.
I like that, having several perspectives on a similar topic helps fill blanks. Knowledge grinding IRL. lol

As much as this has become a meme, I honestly still have some hope that UE4 will be released one day. NCSOFT pretty much only have 3 choices in the future:
      1. Release UE4 and hope it revitalize's the game
      2. Milk out the Blade & Soul franchise and let the title die
      3. Sell the title to another publisher and cash out
