    Finally a higher-pitched sound profile on a budget board. Typically just foamy and deeper sounding. Looking forward to this board!

      This. I feel like PE, Tape etc. is way overused and really just makes boards sound lifeless and generic.

      Well remember the time clacky board is not prefered compared to deeper sounding board? I still love using foamy board tho, cant hear nothing when i used my headphones with clacky board

    It's so weird how when mechanical keyboards were starting to get popular and forums like geekhack popped up, having the most beefy solid backplate and the most solid case mounting system was considered the best, most desirable typing experience. I guess it's because we were trying to be as opposite from rubber dome keyboards as possible, which were the only mainstream option then. (I'm pretty sure at one point there were even a few people making custom CNC'd mounting plates that were so thick there was no room between the plate itself and the PCB haha).
    Sorry for the random tangent. Just weird how what people consider to be desirable completely reverses over time. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course.
    The keyboard looks sick btw!

    • @corecombat26
      @corecombat26 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought the same! It seems like gasket mount is what people what because it looks somewhat cool / having the benefit of the lower pitched t h o c c that beginners love.
      When I started out with the hobby, I also thought that gasket is the big thing that only comes with top-of-the-line keyboards. Then I tried it out and it felt normal, not mindblowing or anything, and now currently using a top mount board. I just wish that there were more budget friendly top mount board, so that people get to see how good a solid typing experience is.

    Is there a reason you decided to not support iso on the hotswap pcb or offer a dedicated iso hot swap pcb like you did with the mode SixtyFive?

    • @MeBarnson
      @MeBarnson 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They did the same with the Sonnet as there where almost no sales on the ISO hotswap pcb with the Mode65. I got the solder Sonnet version now and I am really happy with the solder board.

    That carbon 3d printer/company has been used for a number of seemingly cool products, but also I primarily know of the company through their interview with Norm from tested for their m1 platform. I still can’t believe how bad that video was though. The interview they provided to tested was almost condescending. Also I still don’t understand why the special curing procedure they claim to rely on is an advantage over the other 3d printer companies who offer different prototyping resins that seem to be equal to their stuff.
