The trumpet brothers was my first introduction to TRMZ, I remembered the Reckoning video in so much detail after the clip began! I distinctly remember you talking about how you fixed the vest with the leather sewing kit in between fire and it saved you again. I was first introduced to you through my friend in 2016 who had been playing for a little while on PC. I still remember the first time he showed me the game, as well as TH-cam clips from yourself, Jam Jar, and Blackout. I didn't have a PC capable of running DayZ at the time but couldn't believe what I was witnessing and held out hope that one day I'd be joining in on the experience. Finally, in May 2019, DayZ released on the PS4 and I have played it almost every day since, both on different consoles and now finally on PC. Your content has been a massive part of my DayZ experience, with each adventure breathing new life into the game. To me, DayZ isn't DayZ without TheRunningManZ, and I still look forward to every one of your videos. Keep on running, man❤

Lastly, besides all the other missing items.... that part where you have 2 cars and head to the "old" broken bridges in the valley of the Biathlon Arena and jump the bridges.... really breaks my heart. I absolutely loved that old valley and trio of broken bridges... I built, me and 2 of my best DayZ buddies, built a massive 4 story base right there using those 3 bridges as ramps to get into our 3 levels of parking....we used the brand new BBP base building mod and built this glorious base that spanned those bridges and valley. It was on our old Winter Chernarus hardcore server we used to run, and we had turned the predatory animals up a lot, so there would be packs of 5 bears each, and packs of 20 wolves each(which would occasionally meet up, and then group up with other packs, turning into super packs lol)... and because of our base location, we were right in the thick of having all those bears and wolves 😅 We would hear them coming, open our garage doors that the ramps lead into directly, and then pretty much do a firing squad on them 😂 It was one of my favorite bases I ever built, it even had an underground bunker when BBP was implementing underground bunkers underneath or lower level....it was awesome.. .... and then the damn DayZ devs removed it and put that stupid little tunnel there. 🙄😤
Crazy to see how far this game has came, i remember watching a majority of these videos back in the day and deciding to try out the game, coming up on almost 4k hours now

Firstly, The Trumpet Brothers waa a phenomenal little series (even though we know your about your "brother" in the last one 😑🤣)... definitely one of my all time favorites...along with "1.07 is Harder", "Crazy Chris", the "Putting Together my First Car" video, and your "First Base Build" video...classics and I'll rewatch them constantly, those views are from me specifically 😅 Regardless, while I've been playing DayZ for literally a decade as well, I didn't touch DayZ SA until around this time, around 1.0...I bought it when it first released to Steam, but I was busy playing A3 Exile Mod (Frankie still called it DayZ even though it was better than SA and didn't "need" zeds to be great or be Exile Mod) and playing DayZ Epoch and DayZ Origins.... I literally couldn't pull myself away from those "real" DayZ's.... but I remember they updated to 1.0 and I seen the announcement and said okay, I'll give it a try finally (even though I knew it was pathetically terrible beforehand, well maybe not 0.63 lol).... So even though I played thousands of hours of DayZ, I barely ever played on Chernarus at all during my DayZ playing.... because there were always much cooler, much more popular maps like Taviana, Lingor, Namalsk, Sahrani, Takistan, Napf, Fallujah, Lythium, and Tanoa and Altis....so I barely knew Chernarus, let alone Chernarus Plus lol. I started playing, found the most "hardcore survival" server I could (really wish it was still up, it got closed down in less than 5 months after I joined, and was phenomenally hard and great lol) and started exploring....it was great, everything was gorgeous (even though Arma 3 and it's "DayZ" Mods like Exile and Epoch looked much prettier and had more to offer, still) and I spent countless hours just traveling these new hiking trails with my extremely scarce loot and binoculars lol.... I'd travel, get to a town or city, post up in a tree and just overlook for 10 minutes, finally go in and sneak my way around trying to loot (this server back then had legit hordes and you needed to not make a peep, it was great). I remember my first time coming out of the woods, seeing this huge cliff I was standing on, and this massive (looked to be lol) city down at the bottom (Novodmitrovsk) and it was glorious. Then I remember finding Deerisle in it's bare state with my newfound DayZ buddy and we started playing Deerisle right away (still hadn't seen everything in Chernarus Plus yet lol) then put like 5k hours in straight, every single day putting in at least 10hrs, work, come home, straight to my PC to keep exploring.... finding everything there was to find.... Then I became an admin on 3 separate groups of servers, like 20 different servers, and bounced my way around each server doing admin work, building custom towns, custom caves, adding in secret areas, places that were "hardened" and enforced for players to find and make bases at.... Then suddenly probably less than a year ago (well, kinda always, but it got to a breaking point).... I started remembering what we were supposed to have, what was promised, and how both Rust and Scum and even OLD DayZ mods themselves like Arma 2 DayZ Epoch Mod were getting huge updates with all this great new stuff, new features, new things to do and play with.... and me getting burned out from playing modded DayZ SA and just wanting to play "vanilla DayZ" that had everything it was supposed to have, should have had.... I just got pissed over the last 2yrs and eventually stopped.... I couldn't believe my favorite "game" of 10yrs was being neglected and even stripped away from by it's current devs....they were never giving us helicopters, never our promised boats or plane, all the weapons still missing and missing, promised features.... and watching them put more time into making the game worse in key areas while focusing on utter nonsense like can opening sounds, on screen blood splatter, those stupid paper masks, never adding Utes Island, no speed loaders or moon clip, no quiver, no V3S Command or bare chassis version, no S1023 minivan, no Multicar, no bikes, quads, or motorcycles, no promised LMG's.... I just gave up and realized they really don't care about completing the game like they promised or making the game a better, more full experience for everyone.... I mean, Chernarus never even got an underground bunker system while Livonia (a worse DayZ map) got one....(oh and I had to buy Livonia twice, DayZ and A3). .. Yup, done. Maybe one day I'll come back, I always say "I'm going to jump on my PC"... and I never even get on to play BeamNG, or Exile, let alone DayZ SA 😅

ive been enjoying this walk down memory lane. i was very disappointed with the original release of the standalone so i kept playing the mod for a while, and then moved onto other games. i think it was in 2019 when i finally came back to dayz, and the improvement had blown my mind. since then i havent taken a break from dayz that lasted more than a month or two lol
@3:44 The slow walking up and down steep hills......absolutely don't miss that! Going diagonal up the hill left, then right, the left, then right. Are we at the top yet? Nope, only halfway. Thank goodness they allowed for the unnatural ability of walking/running up/down the hills now!
