I've encoutered one of those low level flights last year in Norway. I was on the top of a mountain somewhere between Laerdal and Aurland, when I heard a humming noise. Imagine how the jet engine sounds with all those sound waves bouncing off the mountains. And then, for the first time in my life, I had to LOOK DOWN to watch an F-16 flyby. Amazing experience.
Man the F-16 is an aging bird and nearly obselete, but it is still one of the most beautiful jets in my opinion. Thanks for this video!!!! It is awesome!!!
a ride in the F-16 is the greatest thing ever! while i was stationed at Luke AFB, Az. i was given the chance to go up and do a fly by for a nascar race. we did a max climb to 18000 ft, then did a few "G" checks, then we broke the sound barrier, and to top it off we pulled a total of 8.3 g's! man it was so fun. My pilot let me have control of the jet for about 20 minutes or so! nothing i have ever done in my life compares to that!
Great video ... its must be an out of the world experience for these select fighter pilots as they can fly like a bird and look at things from wherever they want and at amazing speeds.
+WanderfalkeAT Retired US Navy here. Truthfully my heart is with US Navy aviation, BUT ANY pilot and or plane that can pull THIS off and make it look easy, (note at times Pilot in red suit seemingly relaxing ... going 300-400 through those mountains and valleys) has my vote as Badass of the Planet. Stunning camera work. Watch his wing-man following behind him in the mountain passes. WOW
xxvavyguy445 Yes, but I guess the F-16 is predestined to Keep your Lead in sight (Canopy has no Frame). But you are right - Doing that at Low Level especially at this speed is as hard as f***!
I live in Norway and when these baby's are flying in the mountain and you are on the top and look down on them passing by with this speed, its unbelievable :)
They used to be our best friends. I served in the norwegian armoured force, or panzer if you like. quite a nice umbrella to have, if you know what I mean. Always very good at taking advantage of their superb knowledge of the norwegian terrain. Bless you. norwegian fighter sqaudrons..
Norway. Probably from Ørlandet base (location derived from the fact that @4:09 the pilot says "We're passing Eikesdalen", in norwegian obviously, which is only a short flight from that base - additionally the dialect gives away that the pilot himself is actually raised somewhere not too far away from the Trondheimish area).
@Putepepsi It is NATO Compatible, Czech Republic and Hungary use it and are NATO members. The Gripens exported variants after 2007 are NATO compatible with the carrier borne version NG being drawn up.
Superb Reagan era Fighter/Interceptor. Granted this aircraft was conceived and designed two decades prior. Under Reagan these aircrafts were upgraded to be the premier aircrafts that the world came to respect. We cant build a car, but we make some of the most respected war machines in the world.
@atkach I live about 4 miles north of a Canadian Air Force base. They do the majority of their flying toward the south, but occasionally the Snowbirds will fly over the city and it is loud! A friend of mine was on a tractor in a field when a low-flying jet flew over him - broke his ear drum.
the fun thing here is that when Poland bought the F 16, 5 of those had to go thruw severe repairs upon delivery. was kinda fun too read. They were not new but I thought that the USAF sold combat operational products! ^^ :P
Norway has one of the best F16 pilots in the world. This video proves it. It takes a lot of skill to fly low pass mountains at 900+km/H, And i have never seen any one else fly so close to mountains as the norwegian pilots did in this vid.
@VIXI2008 : Nope, its the Royal Norwegian Air Force flying from Ørland air force base located in the middle of Norway (close to Trondheim, look it up on google map)
The norwegian f-16 has a strengthened airframe to alow it to fly this low. They do it all the time around where I live. Also I think the fil is sped up to give it a Adam west batmobile look LOLz :)
@wayne4622 I do Sympathize Wayne ! I'm french and I'm also 35 years old, I wish I had passed my exams to become a fighter pilot. Don't worry, if we reincarnate one day we will manage to get trough it, and we may be in the same squadron.... ;-)
nice video... but heres a question I have had for a while... the Russian Government was selling migs at one point, but I have seen private f-16 air frames, who and how do people get there hands on them w/ lots of money?
man i soo agree with you i hate music vid being a f16 fan like me it means i wanna hear every thing in the cockpit and what the pilot does. i use to play falcon 4 AF
It's also 50 times more expensive. Actually I don't know how much more expensive it is. But for the money the JAS39 is a bargain. Easy and cheap to maintain, and works in any temporary landing strip made by a road.
I see what you mean, but that's not one of "my" F16's. I'm from the Netherlands, we have F16 MLU (Mid Life Update)(F16AM & F16BM), which equals about block 50. But this is a video starring Norwegian F16's. Some of them also had the mid-life update, but I don't know how old this footage is and how many aircraft of the RNAF had this update. These are indeed not block 50+.

I was looking for this video a lot of years ❤

For all the grief people have given the F-16, it still is one of the most remarkable aircraft ever designed or built.
DC3, Spitfire, Mustang, B17, ME262, ME109, FW190, Hurricane, Meteor, Mosquito, Mustang, F-18, Ju87, B707, Concorde, Pitts Special, C150, C172, Huey, F-14 are a few more..... ;0)
The ME109 landing gear sucked.........Killed a lot of pilots which at the time was a good thing. Kinda like the Vought F4U Corsair for that time.
Simply one of the most beautyful Jet Fighters ever designed. Small, fast, agile and reliable. That Bird is a Masterpiece!

Please never delete this video i love it!!!!!
Very very well done video. And the sound effects/music were cool too.
I love the F16, such a great looking bird. My favorite
I live in Norway and when these baby's are flying in the mountain and you are on the top and look down on them passing by with this speed, its unbelievable :)
bad ass video ,, and some bad ass flyer's in the F16's .. great show guy's , thank you .
Nice flying. Just like in the movies, so close to the ground and cliffs and mountains.
They used to be our best friends. I served in the norwegian armoured force, or panzer if you like. quite a nice umbrella to have, if you know what I mean. Always very good at taking advantage of their superb knowledge of the norwegian terrain. Bless you. norwegian fighter sqaudrons..
one of the best vids ive seen on youtube!
Πολυ ωραιο το βιντεο σου...και απολαυστικη η πτηση σου!!!!!!!!!
PULL UP ... PULL UP ;) nice vid saw some norway F-16's on the airshow in belguim this year.
I love this video, the music really makes it.
outstanding flying You guys make us proud
That is a great video. Quality stuff. What a awesome plane.
No, is in the middle of Norway, over Trondheim and Tröndelag, the pilots have their base on Örland Flystation.
Music Great, smart making, unbeliveable images !
An hour of this and the mechanical turbulence around those rocks must give you a good thumping.

For the beauty the F16 carries on itself, this aircraft was designed by some artist I think.
@Putepepsi It is NATO Compatible, Czech Republic and Hungary use it and are NATO members. The Gripens exported variants after 2007 are NATO compatible with the carrier borne version NG being drawn up.

Now this is one sweet vid! Thanks & a Salute from this old USAF Vet. =\*/=
Awesome video; loved it, Thanks for making it and sharing.

@Norse Guy Thank you. Norway is a beautiful country. I spent a couple of weeks in Trondheim.
Hot damn! This would make an excellent recruitment video!!
the fun thing here is that when Poland bought the F 16, 5 of those had to go thruw severe repairs upon delivery. was kinda fun too read. They were not new but I thought that the USAF sold combat operational products! ^^ :P
thats the best fighter plane vid ive seen.
DUDE F16 is the most fearless fighter in Europe, may seem tiny and nothing special but is usually 100% effective
Can I say that has to be the ultimate adrenaline rush!
Very nice. Thank you for posting this.
I don't know what to answer to you. You left me speechless.
gorgeous plane !

BEST F-16 VID IVE SEEN!!!!!
@xpStratosferic Its the Norweigen Air Force, you can see the insignia early on in the video.
Quite possibly...coolest job ever..!! "Yeah I'll just casually boss my way round these mountains and shit"
That must be amazing!!!! Try to get a video of that some time!
@VIXI2008 : Nope, its the Royal Norwegian Air Force flying from Ørland air force base located in the middle of Norway (close to Trondheim, look it up on google map)
what a great great job .....
nice video ....
@aman2426, Looks like a camera pod, but I'm not familiar with the f16. If it is a pod its whats used for recon missions.
The norwegian f-16 has a strengthened airframe to alow it to fly this low. They do it all the time around where I live. Also I think the fil is sped up to give it a Adam west batmobile look LOLz :)
The airframe isn't strengthened it's standard.
awesome flying! wish I could fly my radio controlled jets half that good.
Fantastic, thanks for sharing.
@wayne4622
I do Sympathize Wayne ! I'm french and I'm also 35 years old, I wish I had passed my exams to become a fighter pilot. Don't worry, if we reincarnate one day we will manage to get trough it, and we may be in the same squadron.... ;-)
@bluesky747er I think the design of the Porsche Boxster owes a fair bit to the F16 as well
I love Norway nature! Norge
*THAT's INCREDIBLE!!!*
@Wayne123q They do "drift" quite a bit. After all, theyre not on a rail or a road.
I wouldn't fear death either if it happened too fast to realize it. Just have a blast using these machines like the power within them intended.
sweet vid! awesome jets!
Ι m still watching this❤
That's the Royal Norwegian Air Force. I'm sooo getting in there when I grow up :)
that would be one hell of a ride!!!
i had 4 g's ina akro machine, that was hard enough, but i want a jet flight too ^^ :P very nice vid!
Hmmm,F-16 Falcon is my passion. Wow how I love this ''Fighter Jet''.
I love how the jet sucks up the vapor!
Those F16s were flying in Norway
My home!!!
Also, the F16 is one of the most efficient (in terms of cost) gen 4.5 fighters available today.
Man, how cool is that.
nice video... but heres a question I have had for a while... the Russian Government was selling migs at one point, but I have seen private f-16 air frames, who and how do people get there hands on them w/ lots of money?
So fuck'n Sick! Skilled like crazy and to fliy so low and so close to Mountians. Wow!
@MapleSephiroth Based upon the cockade, I'm pretty sure it's the Netherlands Air Force so this video may take place in Netherlands.
@andrewmunro44 No, it is the engine sucking up the water from the ground
theres a vid where theres 3 F14 fighters screaming in down the runway at 500 mph. the last plane is like 2 feet off the ground
@mirlin235 ^Yes, we fly home from any where in the u.s........ other countries, landing on the carrier across sea.
Thanks for uploading
cool jet and all, but is there a cup holder?
nice NOE flying... these guys'll never get picked up....
man i soo agree with you i hate music vid being a f16 fan like me it means i wanna hear every thing in the cockpit and what the pilot does. i use to play falcon 4 AF
It needs a bumper sticker that says "My other vehicle doesn't cost millions of dollars."
For me, this is PORN! And some of the very finest I've ever seen from the F-16.
@Blargeddy The missile that flys up your tail pipe doesn't care about flying low, and you lose maneuvarability when flying so low.
Was this Video on fast Forward @Fristidefruitigste ? ? ?? ? ? OR ARE F-16 REALLY THAT FAST !!
Lu.Thumbs up!
Si tu pouvait m'en mettre un sur mon precedent comment ca serait pas du luxe lol!
great flying
good movie
that was some independance day flying lol.
sick
LOL, this is why being a pilot is the best job in the world!
Insanely intense! Especially 3:30 to 4:10.
I love this video
I see this clip before 16 years.i m so upoy again
Very cool!
nice...F-16 joining Tornado and F-111 airspace...
@bagz216 that is awesome! you're the best! win!!
This is at Ørland Hovedflystasjon just by Trondheim in Norway.
WoW thats a cool video
@andrewmunro44 it's water on the ground being sucked into the engine
i miss working on these birds. the biggest pain in the ass and also greatest time of my life
It's also 50 times more expensive. Actually I don't know how much more expensive it is. But for the money the JAS39 is a bargain. Easy and cheap to maintain, and works in any temporary landing strip made by a road.
makes sense, very good point.
@thachtran Thats pretty sick, never have seen that before it funnels in there like a twister.
Best adrenaline rush EVER! end of.
Yes. The judges will see if your choice of saying no to a direct order was legimit or not
