The coolest use of a Brazilian barenbau in a song, ever. That's the instrument that starts the song. They're definitely workin' their jazz chops on this one.
Bro every song I want a reaction for I just go to your channel, and you have it every time without fail. I freaking love you guys! All three of these musicians are classically trained
That was fun, I loved the late 70, early 80's jazz fusion sound they had going on. Two albums every jazz lover should hear, Weather Report - Heavy Weather and Casiopea - 1979 album. I can hear a good bit of both in this and it was a blast.
This is a new song for me, but all three musicians are incredible. I am relatively new to your channel and I am in my early 70's. I love the enthusiasm the both of you have for really good music. If possible I would like you to react to a live performance of the song "Inside Looking Out" by Grand Funk Railroad from 1969. Thanks and keep up the great work 👍.
They all met at one of those schools for gifted musicians as teens and then all went to university/ music academy together (bass and drums studying jazz, vocals studied classical composition). The are clearly great friends and obviously love playing together.
I’ve watched so many of your reaction videos and love them because you’re hard to impress but y’all appreciate great music. I love how (don’t know which brother is which sorry) the brother in the black hat is so lazer focused like he’s in cpr class. You are into the details and I LOVE IT! You don’t miss a thing! Appreciate your reactions! Wish you would do more dirty loops songs, “Breakdown” you would love also “world on fire” but all of there stuff is great! I love the older songs you do. I know it’s hard to find real first time reaction videos for that stuff cuz y’all were raised right! ❤
Comment got lost, so reposting: Oh man, so glad you guys looked at this song, it is BONKERS! And just like you’ve said, Jonah is classically trained on the piano, like so many, and has often talked about classical music being one of their influences. Later in Highschool he switched to jazz piano. And you’re right again, as far as I know, vocally he’s classed as a tenor. What gets me is that he’s been singing in choirs all his life, but never had sung lead vocals in a band until he started jammin with Aron and Henrik’s and they asked him to. In an interview with bassmagazine/Singified, Henrik said of this one that they’d planned it on having a big keys and a drum solo. Well he doesn’t need to solo cause he’s smashing it anyways, all the time! Even when he’s just ‘in the background’ (some background…!) His bass sound on this track is spread over multiple channels (6?) and just sounds so lush… And Aron? I guess one has to listen to this piece a few times to fully appreciate what he does 🔥 You picked out so many interesting things there. Very much appreciate your reaction and comments. Their cover of MJs “Thriller” is insane, as is “Rock You”. For a proper dope bass solo, check out “World On Fire”! 🔥🔥🔥 And really everything else they’ve ever done…! Looking forward to listening to more Dirty Loops with you! 🙏🙏
@@AirplayBeats Fo' sho! And the best part is you actually know what you're talking about when reacting/commenting on their videos. So many TH-camrs try to sound smart and pretend they understand music theory or when different genres get fused together, but you gentlemen are legit. Respect all the way from Croatia! 🙂🙏
They may have shot this and "Next to You" in the same location/on the same day. They're not wearing the same clothes, but that doesn't mean they couldn't have shot them in the same day and just changed. In the videos for "Breakdown" and "World on Fire", they're definitely in the same setting and in the same clothes. Their videos from the first album and older covers all seem to have the same or similar setups as well.
Next To You was shot at Baggpipe Studios in Stockholm (it's mentioned in the credits and you can see the studio name on the wall at the start of the video 😃), and they have shot a fair few of their videos in that particular studio over the years (both Breakdown and World On Fire, for example, and it looks like some older stuff like Rolling in the Deep and Over the Horizon could be from there as well, but I'm not 100% sure about the older stuff). However, the credits of Rock You says Soundtrade Studios in Solna, and Rock You and Work Shit Out looks like they're filmed in the same location. The setup with the lights are the same for all three though (and are the ones they used for their parts of the videos from Turbo as well).
This is what you get when everyone in the band is the best! Henrik the bass player is Jazz trained so is Aron the drummer. Same musical school. Jonah went to the same school and was classically trained!
Yeah, great comment 👍 Jonah tho also switched to jazz piano, later on during his high school years I believe… But with those three guys I feel they could play almost any style! It’s almost like Dirty Loops going: ‘genre? What’s that?’ 😉
Thanks for your reaction. I can hear you are musicians from the comments that you give. Quincy Jones is the producer. I have seen them live a couple of times. Don't you think the singer has influenced by Kenny Kirkland on piano? Or maybe David Sancious?
Those two pianists, they sound intriguing, gonna check them out. Often people mention Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea or Lyle Mays (Pat Metheny Group) as Jonah’s pianistic influences. He says of their style that it’s a mix of everything, including classical… Quincy is their manager but not their producer. The Loops produce all of their own stuff themselves, and don’t show him anything, not even a demo tape, before they are finished with the song. A bit like with Quincy and Jacob Collier ;)
Great Channel guys... You come across really legit. So many "fakers" sadly out there bobbing their heads waaay to much for the likes to be honest. Also i can hear you guys truly like music.
Come on! You love these guys and need to experience more of their music! Their last banger is ”Follow the light” in collaboration with the funk master Cory Wong. Do it! (Please)
These guys are managed by Quincy Jones so that should tell you something. Listen to "Follow The Light" next. It's probably one of their most loved songs. Then you got "Thriller", "Breakdown", "World On Fire"....tons of great stuff. I call them a jazz/funk fusion band but they're simply badass. Loved your reaction.
I'ma give yall boys a sub in hopes that you'll keep going down this Dirty Loops trail. They got some bangin' ass music. It's poppin enough that the average listener can get down to it but intricate and detailed enough that a musician can REALLY appreciate it.
@@frauleinmona Not doubting you but why in their credits is he listed as such then? It specifically says Managed by Quincy Jones. Just curious. Thx for the response.
@@allieandbo I believe particular pieces of work was managed by Quincy Jones. But otherwise, Andreas Carlsson is their manager, as they have mentioned as such in an interview. But, perhaps they've changed managers since and Quincy is their *new* manager? 😊

May I suggest another track/artist? If you liked this one, check out “Lingus” by Snarky Puppy from the album “We Like It Here”. Your world will change.
No, Kelly, but I wouldn’t be surprised it they would, in the future. Each one of them has played and recorded with a ton of other great musicians, including Louis Cole from Knower, Jacob Collier, Matt Garstka, Cory Wong, Jordan Rudess from Dream Theatre, Richard Bona…. They’re due to bring out a new album soon, and I cannot wait! But yeah, with Snarky Puppy, that would be an awesome collab 🔥🔥🔥
All of us feel like practicing after watching these guys! That’s elite musicianship right there. Dope song too!
Couldn’t help but giggle when they thought that Henrik was gonna solo. WE ALL WISH HE DID 💔
They are ALL CLASICALLY TRAINED!! They met at the Conservatory in Switzerland.

Welcome to The Loop!!!! This is jazz- fusion at its Best!!!!
Aron, Henrik and Jonah trained together at Stocholm royal academy - and with jazz and classical training as part of their education.

The singer is in a development deal with Quincy, last I heard.

and all 3 are alumni of the Royal College of Music in Stockholm/Sweden
