Look's like a great product. I have I40 ray marine instruments on my boat. Would you have a set up recommendation for hooking the bi- data (speed & depth) and the wind speed and direction. I really would like to have all this info on my I-pad. Thanks for showing this great product to the world.
People, for a reliable installation please hire a real electrician and don't allow this amateur access to your boat. He is violating every rule there is. When using those rubbish connectors at least put them in a protective switch box (waterproof if possible) and use proper wire end bushings. For serviceability use a connector on your VHF so you can quick disconnect it. Even better is to avoid the type of junction shown here all together. They are totally unreliable when used with thin flexible wires.
Couldnt agree more.... china connectors are not the correct way. It needs to be properly soldered and housed... and dont go for that wifi nonsense... as it will occupy your wifi connection on the ipad making it impossible to be connected to the internet!
what a bullshit comment.. he was showing how to connect it, just because he did not show on the video it does not mean he left it hanging there on the chart table you mooran? of course he put inside the panel and secured it. Seems like people loose common sence and become idiots on the internet? Part of the reason why people buy boats is to get the opportunity to DIY and learn new stuff, also learn by mistakes sometimes.. I would never hire a electrician for simple wiring jobs on my boat, I'd rather do it my self any time as then I know my boat better than anyone. Only when doing AC work it is wise to at least consult an professional licensed electrician and let him do the final hook ups and inspections.
Thank you man! Excellent effort!
