Stormfront could be a natural brunette, which, if my 8th grade biology understanding of genetics is correct, means that they have a roughly 1:4 chance of producing a blonde child. But that's making the assumption that she dyes her hair black. To make fewer assumptions, they specifically said they wanted Soldier Boy's "genetic material" for an "experiment" so my guess would be that this could still be possible, because Vought is not above tampering with the genetics of their new American Hero Wunderkind to make him look as perfect as possible for the American people to gawk at.
Eye color, I don't put much stock in. It's hard to select an actor who's both perfect to play the character you want them to, and have the perfect eye color. You can use color contacts, but I've heard those don't always give perfect results. And when we're talking about blue eyes, that's not an easy thing to find. I think it's between 8 and 10 percent of the population that has blue eyes. Now imagine how many of those are good actors, and how many of those actors are able to play the role the way that the director wants them to. And I'm pretty sure the genetics behind eye color are more complicated than hair color. Because you have things like hazel eyes which kind of imply that there's a lot more than just 1 or 2 alleles involved.

@@ben1ben2ben1 Homelander doesn't have blonde hair. It's a little weird that some other supes don't talk about it, but he just dyes the top and front of his hair to make it look blonde. It's actually dark brown just like Soldier boy.

It makes perfect sense, whose the only other supe that's been shown to fly, Stormfront. The stuff about getting Maeve's eggs was foreshadowing what they did, Stormfront was all in on eugenics and talking about getting Homelander's genes etc.

The only problem about this is that I don't see Stormfront not knowing about it, or at least suspecting it. She's displayed a deep emotional bond about her daughter, so I can't see her not trying to reach out to Homelander sooner if he was her son. My guess he was birthed by a surrogate, but even if Liberty/Stormfront donated her eggs to the 'experiment', she'd still try to establish a parental relationship with him. I can't see Vogalbaum or Vought being able to do much to stop her from trying.

The ending SHOCKED me! I literally played it back about 5 times. Jensen’s line delivery of “What father wouldn’t want that for his son?” DAMN! Also, the Butcher and Noir trauma was incredibly powerful. Noir’s way of coping was escape. Very powerful stuff. Amazing episode of TV. You look beautiful as ever! Thanks for the content! 💜💜

Black Noir explained in that cartoons that those are his childhood "friends" but maybe also the fact that SB smacked his brains out so Noir might have suffered brain-injury. Butcher on other hand might have lied that they are gona grab more v24 becouse his main goal is get perma-V. Butcher hates sups but he mostly would hate more the fact that becouse of him Hughie dies (becouse of v24) so I guess he wouldnt mind Hughie get perma-V to keep him safe.

Look how much Compound V is left after Kimiko uses it. Pretty sure SOMEONE is going to end up taking it. The Finale is so unpredictable, anything can and will happen.
Compound V doesn't work for adults. Kimiko and A-Train were able to take it because there body was already able to adapt to it.

In the show it was stated that it was very difficult and very messy and there was a reason Vought avoided doing it because the the side effects COULD be fatal, which is exactly my point. Someone may try to take it in desperation with dire results.👍

I honestly don't blame Hugie for wanting so badly to save Annie. Think about it, his last love was literally obliterated in front of him, now the most powerful "hero" on earth wants to do the same thing to Annie.
I don’t blame him, it’s a fear he has. But him telling her he needs to save her isn’t for her, it’s for him.
I'm betting Stormfront is his mom. She's the only hero shown so far who could fly. As messed up as it sounds, it fits the narrative.

I did not see it coming that Soldier Boy was Homelander's dad. I did figure it out, when that phone call started. After that flashback with Butcher, it explains his relationship with Hughie more. Komiko is always adorable.

Soldier Boy cannot fly but liberty can. In fact she is the only (female) Supe we know that can fly. Did Homelander F... his own genetic mother in s2 and why wouldn't I be surprised about that. (oh yeah it's the Boys)
He was surprised that Hughy had super strength and A train hasn't changed he still wants in so bad he can taste it.
This season is more of a drama in my opinion compared to last season where it was just more action on action and honestly I love it

I suspect Stormfront/Liberty who founded Herogasm with Soldier Boy may be the egg donar for Homelander. Making her his mother.
Since her ego would probably want her to make the most "perfect" supe.
I think Homelander is coming full circle with his Oedopus complex.
Which may mean he will eventually kill Soldier Boy, all the same. Unless his fight with him during Herogasm already reflects that.
I don't think Annie was actually recording or on a live stream. I think it was a bluff. She pulled the phone out to save her life or not end up like Maeve.

Great reaction! Your intro analysis/recap was surprisingly satisfying, too. It was so interesting that it never occured to me to fast-forward to the episode.
The way they explained. Soldier Boy's powers is that the radiation from his blast burns the V out of the supes system. If this is the case, I don't think SB's blast would affect Homelander or Ryan, because their powers are hard coded in their DNA.
That said, SB can still wreak havoc on all other Compound V supes. This makes me wonder if this can end up saving Hughie & Butcher, because it's the Temp V that's killing them, and burning it out of their bodies may be the only way to save them. And while were talking about Compound V, they lingered a bit on the vial after Frenchie gave Kimiko her shot. The vial looks to have at least one more dose in it. I wonder if this means that Annie might become depowered from a Soldier Boy confrontation, there fore maybe forced to take the remaining dose to get back into the fight.
I think Hughie's feeling of powerlessness got to be even more pronounced when he found out his role in the FBSA was a complete sham. Prior to that, he was riding high because he thought he was making a difference, but now he knows he was being played all along. Taking the Temp V gives him the sense that he has some power over his situation.
Other than Homelander being immune to SB's powers, I think you're right about how it works. They showed Homelander's powers beginning to fade when he was pinned down at Herogasm, which is what prompted him to dig deep and use everything he had to push them off and escape. He felt first-hand his power fading when his eyes flickered between red and normal, almost like a cocktail of fear and adrenaline. He panicked. It's what has him so spooked now--and why the conversation with Maeve about SB's ability to strip supes of their powers took place. He went down there for information regarding that incident.
Though I don't think SB will burn away their powers, and subsequently, the effects of the Temp V. I think that's "permanent" damage that will require them to take actual Compound V. I think Annie will be the one to administer it. We only see her grab a singular vial for Kimiko, but it cuts away after reads the notes on Temp V's effects, leading me to believe she grabbed a few more vials in case Butcher doesn't go through with telling Hughie about its dangerous effects.
The vial she got wasn't completely used up with Kimiko, so there should still be enough Compound V for Hughie and Butcher
@@LockeNarshe Unless those notes stated infusion of Classic V would reverse Temp V damage, I just don't see Annie willing to experiment on them.
@@grumpysphinx4911 I think there's a reason the camera lingered on the half full vial of Classic V, but I don't think it's going to be for Hughie & Butcher. No one knows if it wouldn't cause anymore damage.
I think Annie or Maeve might end up getting depowered in a confrontation with Soldier Boy and will re-innoculate with the remaining serum to restore their abilities

If you count the times Billy use temp v he has used it 5 times 1 Gunpowder, 2 Russia, 3 Red Countess, 4 Herogasm, 5 Mindtorm. So either the next time Billy dies, gets permeant v, or the temp v does permeant changes both Billy and Hughie. Hughie is on his 4 dose so the same options could go for him too. My feeling is that with the whole do anything for loved ones thing going on is that most likely starlight gives Hughie the v to save his life Also We don't really know if Soldier Boy care about being a farther or not , it could be a way for him to get close to Noir and or Homelander, or a way for the show to get both Homelander and Soldier Boy to try and take over the planet. I am looking forward to next episode because it is gonna be a crazy ride.

Plus, as wild and crazy as things have been on this show, it would be right in line to have Homelander to sleep with his own mother! Especially, how he was regarding his mother figure before he killed her.

Do you think the Temp V powers might be influenced by powers you've been in proximity to, or maybe thought about? It's quite a coincidence that Butcher has laser eyes like Homelander, who had just paid him a visit, and that Hughie has teleporting powers like Teddy who he had recently seen at the Red River home.
The only supe we've seen who had the ability to fly ... was Stormfront/Liberty. Maybe it was her egg? How screwed up would THAT be?

That's not entirely true.
In Season 3 - Episode 3, when Grace Mallory is telling Butcher about her time in Nicaragua in '84, you can see plain as day that one of the members of 'Payback' -- named Swatto -- could fly. In fact, that Supe's flying really ticked off Grace at the time, for essentially showing the enemy where to aim their gunfire.
I hope Homelander and SB don't team up. If they do, it would be the Boys feat Black Noir against father and son
Can it be said that Soldier Boy isn't ageless like Stormfront? At the time she was given V, her powers may have kicked in and she didn't age from that point forward. With SB, they may have performed what experiments they wanted on him and put him in cryo until the Boys "rescued" him. Just a thought.
I think Stormfront was his biological mother. Worse still, I think she knew it the whole time. A few things she said hinted towards it, plus she's the only hero we know of that's old enough, she's always been deeply involved and high-ranking at Vought, and she can fly. Flying heroes are super rare.

Starlight really is such a pure character. Even after everything Hughie has done this season, she goes against his wishes at the end of this episode not to stop him, but to save him. I really hope they’re somehow able to mend their relationship by the end of this season.
Kimiko is like Hughie and I guess Annie understood it. Hughie did it or does it not becouse of pure power hunger but becouse he wants to save the person he loves. He worries for her each day when she is in that tower with HL the biggest psycho so like Kimiko wanting power to protect Franchie he wants power to try and protect Annie.

Just one small example from this episode: she easily understands kimiko desire to have her powers because she wants to save who she loves. However that is unacceptable for hughie.
But honestly you should lookup "hughie teleports with annie" on youtube and read a couple comments. Maybe that shows a new perspective instead of the ridiculous "perfect annie and bad hughie"

I actually believe A-Train was at Herogasm for the sole purpose of killing Bluehawk. I don't believe Hughie's punch affected the outcome. A-Train was shocked because of how strong Hughie's punch was. It was the punch of a Supe, which is why A-Train asked surprisingly, "How did you do that?!" To his knowledge Hughie SHOULD NOT have that kind of strength. This is just how I understood the whole interaction though. Could be wrong.
You're not wrong. A-Train, being a Supe, is strong enough that he can tug a train behind him as he walks. Ergo, a punch from a normal Hughie would be like MM hitting Supe-Butcher with a baseball bat, but even weaker. Therefore, he was surprised because Hughie hit him way harder than he should have been able to.
I bet Stormfront is Homelanders “Mom” might just be her eggs tho. Would make his Darth Vader handy all the more special.

Everyone seems to be missing the end-credits scene. It's nothing really, but it's there.
I saw it! I thought it was weird that the prime player didn’t try to open up a new video so that’s why I thought I should wait. And then got to the end and was like “oh OK”. I was really confused because I thought maybe that meant that it was a season finale and that they were only seven episodes instead of eight

How much you agree or disagree with Todd taking M.M.'s daughter to that Homelander rally might come down to how you felt about quarantine rules. I feel like they almost fully made Soldier Boy a surrogate for COVID and Homelander for Trump in the narrow scope of how Homelander handles that entire situation publicly.

@@funnylilgalreacts Oh, for sure. Especially as a viewer since we know exactly what is taking place in the story, and it definitely gets extra complicated when Homelander is doing literal political rallies rather than just being "the most popular superhero."
I'd be interested to hear the writers talk more about Todd, because at least in the beginning, I feel like he was _trying_ to do the right thing. I'd be curious if he was getting into the Homelander hype as a way to connect to his stepdaughter and it got way out of hand or if he was already a fanboy and just went along for the ride..
Characters like that kind of fascinate me. I have a stepdad that I've called "Dad" for as long as I can remember and he legally adopted me as a child. Biological father was never in the picture. Todd seemed to be acting appropriately, maybe, at first? They were taking photos together and everyone was helping with the party. The mother said the daughter insisted on the hero theme, if I remember correctly. I can only imagine what Todd was told about why M.M. and her relationship broke up when last they were together I think they were going into protective custody until M.M. left The Boys. This might explain why Todd feels like he's in the right thinking he needs to step in as a father when M. was putting them in danger and his wife left.. Still, saying that to someone's face, there's probably a fist coming.
At some point it definitely became irresponsible for him to be bringing the child there. Whether it's Soldier Boy or just the rhetoric, a responsible person wouldn't have taken her, definitely. But... If we give that little dork every benefit of the doubt and say that he genuinely believes that everyone is lying about the danger and he's just excited to show his stepdaughter her favorite superhero, I can at least understand how he wouldn't register it as a deal big enough to even ask anyone about it. I think that's more what I meant? But otherwise, I think we agree on how we feel about it. I'm just very intrigued about exactly what Todd was thinking and when things switched.
The comparison between COVID and Soldier Boy is kind of a half joke, but I feel like they did put a few very specific lines in there on purpose to make a connection, lol.

I had a theory going about Homelander´s parents. I was right about his father and I’m pretty sure is mother is Stormfront. Soldier Boy hinted at something when he said he founded Herogasm with Liberty. They’re both two of the most powerful supes. What better genes in order to create someone like Homelander. Also their names are very patriotic..Soldier Boy? (Captain America) Liberty? …Homelander? Sounds like a bloodline to me. If you rewatch the way Stormfront treated Homelander (besides the sex) she kinda babied him. Very nurturing..motherly, some might say. Imagine Homelander finding out he had sex with his mother. That would make for a great season finale cliffhanger.

Why they made Black Noir's cartoon character a Black Sheep.... And the only other Supe we know that can fly is Stormfront/Liberty which Solider Boy was have sex with.
