I must say, that I prefer a pneumatic stapler in the shop. Since they are one of my go to fastening tools for cabinetry and finish wood working (mostly while prototyping a design). But for field work, the battery powered tools would be a welcome addition to my tool collection. Though one of the things I love about the pneumatic tools is they just last. I have rebuilt a number of staplers and finish nailers over the year. But its pretty rare in my experience to have they fail, not due to excessive abuse or wear. The wear experiences I have had are mostly just replacing seals or parts that have come out of tolerance over decades of use. But easy enough to identify and fix.
I am fully impressed! It’s just a complete th-cam.com/users/postUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 plan with the best resources and step by step instructions . These shed plans are so satisfying as if the sheds build themselves on their own. Worthy work Ryan!
What brand type of staples are you using? You mentioned you were using 1/4 crown by 1/2” for your soffits. I just ordered the DEWALT stapler for my house remodel.
Why don't you turn the stapler 90° when you are nailing the soffit? Going with the crease in the material instead of across the crease. Doesn't that distort the metal?
What brand of staples are you using? I have that stapler, was hoping to use it for installing steel trim, but it won't go through the 28 gauge steel our supplier uses.
What “Issue with the audio”? It’s nothing a couple of clicks on the volume up button couldn’t solve for anyone watching. Keep doing what you do. I for one, truly appreciate you and your content.
I know it sounds critical, but people on video actually like this kind of feedback. There are a ton of things they might not notice that we do. By bringing it to their attention, they can correct or adjust the problem.
Hey Kyle, I'm trying to understand why the flywheel on the Dewalts annoys you so much, why not use another brand? We own 3 Dewalt cordless framers and are the best move we have made. Also no issues with all three
I have the framing nailer & 16 gauge finish nailer . Never used this stapler but I really have had a lot of issues with the framing gun . I’m not really a fan of DeWALTs cordless guns . The finish nailer has worked pretty well but that fly wheel design is not very good in my opinion. Waiting on that Milwaukee framing nailer whenever they figure out their release date ☹️. Great video Kyle

I ordered a Dewalt brad nailer however Home Depot sent me a Dewalt Narrow Crown Stapler instead (sku # are one digit different) before I send it back, do you think it would be a better tool to use for making picture frames ???
I've got the finish nailer, framing nailer and cable stapler on order.. saving up to get this crown stapler next. I am building small house decorations and need a stapler for many applications. Boxes, trim edges, flooring, framing, custom pieces etc. I truly need both of those staplers, and hope dewalt makes one in the near future. Thanks for the review. Any idea which nails work best for fastening metal pieces for tensil strength?
Just curious - is there a specific reason why you would want to staple the soffit with the staple crown being perpendicular to the groove in the soffit as opposed to the staple crown being parallel with the grooves (i.e. holding the gun 90 degrees to how you originally applied the staple) Or does this end up not really mattering in any practical way?
@@RRBuildings good to know! Was just curious if there was any practical benefit of doing it one way vs. another. Love the reviews , well love all of your reviews and the channel. question regarding the dewalt battery, i have the 18v xr lion 2ah on my driver and you use a lot of 20v xr and higher, are these batteries specific to power tools only rated for that voltage or can they be used across the xr range?.
20v is american. 18v is Australia and new Zealand. they're the same thing. same as 54v and 60v. it was just a difference in marketing laws as far as I know
The 20v name is a bit of a marketing scam. All 18v batteries read at 20v output when not in use, when you pull the trigger it drops to 18v ( working voltage). Considering all these batteries are comprised of 1.2v cells, having a 20v battery is impossible. Divide the voltage of any battery by 1.2 and it has to equal a whole number (can’t have half a battery). Eg: 9.6v=8cells, 12=10cells, 14.4v=12, 18v=15, so 20v would equal 16.67 cells. You can’t make .67 of a battery (cell).

Why don't you turn the stapler 90° when you are nailing the soffit? Going with the crease in the material instead of across the crease. Doesn't that distort the metal?

Hey Kyle, I got this gun to help with my barn interior finish. What brand staple do you recommend to go thru the 29 gage trims?
