    OMG. 13 minutes 38 seconds just leading up to actually building the device. All you needed to do om we show a parts list. But like most hams I will be grateful for the efforts you undertook.

    Hi Ben loving the vlogs and just right for me to follow :) looking forward to the next one. Does the Boafeng have to be a n 888s or can other Boafengs be utilised i.e the uv-5r

    • @RadioRevG5REV
      @RadioRevG5REV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you CAN use the uv5r, but I wouldn't 1) it's three times the price, 2) it's more powerful (I reduce the power of the 888s, as you shall see) 3) I don't know how to find the cos, ptt, and other connections. Hope that helps.

    • @africantwin173
      @africantwin173 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Be aware that the uv-5r has a TOT. Transmission Time Out Timer. Mine stopped transmitting after 600 sec's . On a very busy hub net the UV5R is Useless. I haven't found any way to shut off the TOT timer. Just letting you know.

    Can one use the charger that comes with the Boafeng radio instead of the diodes. Disregard this. You can't use that.
