    I feel like I have to comment. I was never taught how to properly fit my Evora mask. I’ve had it since May (almost 6 months) and it has been a struggle. Some nights I lay awake struggling to breathe correctly for four hours just to meet my insurance clearance. It’s been miserable at times. Yesterday I searched TH-cam in hopes of some help and found this video. I fit my mask according to your tips last night and I was absolutely shocked at how I wasn’t struggling to exhale like I have every single night for six months. Specifically the tip about the side straps not touching my ears I think was the biggest help. I guess I just wanted to say thank you and also encourage others who are having trouble exhaling with their Evora mask to follow these tips and try again.

    I feel compelled to provide some feedback on the Evora Mask. First, let me say that I have used many styles of masks in the 10+ years of using a CPAP. For the last 3-4 years I have used the P10 nasal pillow mask which has worked quite well except that I feel like I am always breathing warm air even though I have the humidifier off. I wanted to try the Evora and finally (recently) got the opportunity. I have been using it for about a week now. For the first couple of nights I felt somewhat claustrophobic (like when I first started using my CPAP) but I kept the mask on and now for the last couple of nights it has been the BEST mask ever! In fact, in stead of feeling warm air I feel cool air which I really like. What an Awesome Mask. Thanks for takiing the time to share your honest opinions with us.

      Maybe its was the time of the year? I dont see how a mask can cool the air going in and out of the machine.

    • @Slimfast52
      @Slimfast52 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@100percentmobile I agree that it can't cool the air but it feels cooler I guess because it just has a slot and is blowing across the bottom of my nose into both nostrils and also blowing on the septum making it feel cooler? Either way I like it more than the P10 now.

      @blackrockcity 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Slimfast52 moving air evaporates moisture which then carries away heat off of the skin. So you might perceive cool air but it’s perhaps just an increased airflow over your previous mask?

    I had issues with this when On my side and 14-15 pressure that it leaks very easy. It also hurts the front of my nose when i tighten when it does not leak. I tried all the sizes in my fit pack.
    I do not understand how the SOLO will be any better as it uses a similar cushion. Please review the Solo with pillows vs Brevita vs Bleep Eclipse halo

    Hi LankyLefty I’m that person from Down Under who recently posted a Ben Hur post re my troubles with being a newbie to Sleep Apnea and being trialed at the sleep clinic which they are doing such a bad job grrr I have already Subscribed and hit the all notification bell … Come on 🐑 people help LankyLefty and hit that Bell Too … thanks for this video and how to fit the Evora nasal mask correctly the clinic didn’t do it properly grrrr had to tighten the gray part two more knotches to have the blue straps not touching my ears … I used to have to tighten it so the two straps were touching each other because it was too far own to my ears they gave me Medium size mask one night I accidentally dislodged the face piece and wasn’t sure I had put it back together correctly I don’t now have to tighten the blue straps too much I am now looking fwd to trying it tonight Thanks LankyLefty been watching All ya videos

    I just got this mask. It is outstanding. I’ve struggled for years with leaks, whisked, waking up over and over. This mask fits so well! No a sound. I slept through the night for the first time in weeks. I used it with the 2” tape you recommended. I had the F&G full face mask you recommended which is also an amazing fit. This combo is unbelievably perfect for me. The 2” tape you recommended worked exactly as you said it would. I had been having the worst dry mouth. I used the 2” tape and set the humidity to off just as you suggested. Wow! Zero dry mouth night after night. I watched a number of your videos and was shocked that I have learned more and had the best results EVER. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
    Sorry to ramble but I’ve had so much trouble with Cpap leakage (I have a small nose) that your videos have been like a miracle.
    One important question. In your video you explained how important it is to have the hose width correct on your machine. I verified that I had the correct hose size but with the new Evora nasal mast there is the small extra narrow tube on the mask. When verifying the tube size with this mask, what size do I use?

    Thank you. Been watching your vids for some time now. Looks like this mask will fit me well as I want to try out a nasal cushion mask. I am used to nasal masks only, but getting red pressure marks on the bridge of my nose from time to time. Thanks for the reviews! Really helpful. Just don't know if I will be able to get it here in South Africa. Maybe I'll go the Amazon route.

    Has anyone used this mask with the wide nosepiece? I really want to love it, but even the large doesn't seem to work right and I went back to the Brevida. Has anyone had experience with a large vs. wide nosepiece with the Evora?

  • @becknows676

    Thank you! Now glad I chose this over Brevida! I received the Evora fit pack, no size guide and little clue. I read the Use Guide, tried all 3 and none were comfortable and ALL seemed to leak. Understand I'm new to CPAP, My third set of mask/headgear in 8 weeks..I've struggled..just sick with poor sleep. I watched you and listened to you.
    I saw you do something....I made the 'tiniest' adjustment of the 'floating seal' inside the wings - TaDah BLISS - suddenly no more noise, comfortable breaths, Completely comfortable!...I teared up a bit in just relief! I was scared to take it off because I dont want to lose the fit! First time in weeks I actually dont dread going to sleep. Thank you!

    I tried this mask for one night. My biggest problem was the plastic pieces on the head gear hurt my head. (right where the two straps come together) It felt like it was squeezing my head on each side. By 11:00 I was DONE! I swear my head hurt in those spots for the rest of the day. I did try to loosen the mask but then I got air leaks. I am almost afraid to try it again. Any suggestions on what I need to adjust to try it again? It was not uncomfortable when I went to sleep.

It would have been a helpful detail when putting the components back together to be sure the letter for the size was right side up to be able to click the pillow and its frame back on. How would you compare this one to the P10? I did try the Brevida and really wanted to like it, but it just didn’t do it for me and I continue on with the P10.

    Im trying this mask with medium cushion which seem to be the right size. I have a fairly small head and nose. The head strap is the furthest in (tightest) but the frame is still barely above my ears. But the real problem is the cut out, it partially blocks my nostrils so it restricts the air flow. I dont know if i adjusted it wrong. Im also trying the Dreamwear nasal cushion withs fits perfectly but has the same issue as the Dreamwear nasal pillows as in i feel like im breathing through a straw no matter the pressure or epr setting.

    Jason, it's not that difficult to route the short hose in an arc in front of your face and onto the top strap (if the mask has one). I've done this with my N20 and Wisp masks. Just attach the hose with a velcro strip, piece of wire or tape, etc. Presto, a top attachment mask.

    Trying to find a nasal mask that works for me. I have been using the AirFit/Touch for years and it just works so well for me but it always leaves a red cushion outline to the point I’ve actually received comments on it. My problem with these nasal cushions is the cushion cutout is too small and actually covers 50% of my nostrils, regardless of cushion size. It’s harder to breathe with the mask on then with it off. Considering trying nasal pillows next.

    The amazing Evora. I'm eyeing both it and the Brevida as replacements for my Philips DreamWear (I'm trying the Brevida as I type this, while I wait on my Evoras to come in... One from my sleep clinic and a second from CPAP Supplies).
    I really LIKE how stable and easy F&P has made their head gear to put on, and how it seems hats and baseball caps have influenced their design philosophy. It seems others (especially the Philips DreamWear and DreamWisp) almost feel like bike helmets by comparison... As in either way too tight or not secure at all.
    I'm looking forward to trashing my DreamaWear Nasal masks in particular when my Evoras arrive.
    Update:
    Both of my Evoras are in... One from my doctor, the other from your sponsor. Been trying them today and they're great. I love the CapFit head gear. This is a must try mask for anyone who can use a nasal mask.

I bought the mask based on your review, but I apparently ignored a really IMPORTANT statement you made @ 3:45 where you said you needed the smallest hole and claimed you had a pinhead (you obviously don't have a pinhead, you're just not a fathead) I was so excited this mask came in small sizing, and wouldn't have the issue of brevida where the pillows are too big that I ignored your statement. THIS MASK IS FOR FATHEADS ONLY!! I can't imagine this fitting any woman.

      @@Freecpapadvice Hello again, Mr. Jason! I received the Evora last week (kinda like the name of the mask by the way....:D) Been testing it for some nights now. I usually wear the Resmed Swift FX Nano and they are actually quite similar in many ways I think. The Evora is IMHO a very good nasal mask. I've gone through five Resmed masks now since I started the therapy in May this year. My go-to-mask is the Swift FX Nano, but the Evora will be a very good number two and it probably would be my new all time favorite if it hadn't been that I have some nasal issues with allergies giving me a stuffed nose quite often. I probably should use a FFM because of that, but I found that the Swift FX Nano works quite well. Nasal pillows is a no go for me in that regard - if not, I would probably stick with the P10. The Evora has a genious strap and the nasal cushin is very comfortable. I found it to help using a pair of nasal dilators as well at the same time. So all in all I think F&P has probably struck gold with this mask - especially for those who have no issues breathing only through their nostrils :)

    On CPAP for a little over three weeks I am trialing this mask because the air P 10 XS that I was using was causing sores in my narrow left nostril. It stays on better than the P 10, doesn't slide around on my hair. I'm a side sleeper and have noticed some shifting from side to side and some red marks on either side of my mouth, opposite to the side I slept on. I'm assuming from the hard plastic wings. I've only used 3 nights so far so will keep working with it as I still have scabs on both sides of my nostril. Thanks for the review!

    Tried the Evora. Air vents are sufficating on exhale. The exit holes on the mask have about twice the resistance as other masks (hubby also uses a CPAP and he's an engineer, asked him to identify why I couldn't breathe). I like the N30 with the nasal cradle, but not the flimsy strap, so I was interested in using the Evora, but couldn't tolerate. I use an Airsense 10, pressure at 7. Currently I'm using the nasal cradle that I attached to the Swift FX headgear. 😕

      Top 2 is tough. Top tier: Bleep Dreamway, Swift FX Nano, Dreamwear under nose, Evora is too soon to tell overall, but I’m positive on it.

    I have the Brevida but don't like the fact that it swivels because of the exhaust or the diffuser always ends up pointing at me irritating me so I was thinking about giving this a try but I like the nasal prongs or nipples or whatever they're called so idk if that's going to happen yet. I also don't like how the straps are so close to my eyes.

    I'm a rpsgt too. I like your channel. I recently got dx'd will osa and really struggling with a mask. So far the best has been the Phillips nuance Nadal pillow. But, it (as with any pillow mask) pinches my septum and rubs it raw. It is a small sore and notice the headgear stretches out alot. Nasal mask hurt my sinuses. Pillows tend to cause my nose to go crazy and itch (except for the nuance). The two sleep companies I work for don't have access to this mask thru the vendor. I've spent a lot on masks. The link I tried is over a year old and I couldn't get it working. I would like the fit pack, as well. Can you repost the link and will the code still work? Thanx!

    Considering this mask as I have used a P-10 for half a decade and always looking to try new. How efficient do you think it would seal with a mustache? The P-10 is obviously not an issue and I am considering the Brevida (people either love it or hate it - I've seen your review)

    • @dwarrenmsp
      @dwarrenmsp 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a fairly full mustache and use the Brevida and it works well. It has little cones that go in your nose like the P10, but not nearly as aggressively. I had to stop using the P10 due to pressure sores and a skin split. Probably TMI but I had to stop using the P10. I then tried nasal cover masks and then got on the Brevida. I really like it but always am on the lookout. First saw the Resmed N30 and it didn't get a lot of coverage so I was weary. With my good experience with F&P, the Evora just jumped to the top of my list for masks I'd like to try.

      @@Juneisthebestmonth Well hey, I'm reporting back. I got the Evora and I want to like it so much. I have a hard time getting it fit right and not fighting with leaks and my pressure skyrocketing because of it. I also had issues with the vents causing excess air noise that woke me up. I've used the 30 day trial to exchange it for another Brevida which is now easily my favorite mask. What I'd really love to see if they added a Brevida style nasel pillow and diffuser on the frame of the Evora because the Evora really has comfortable headgear. Due to COVID I didn't have to return the Evora, so I'll hold onto it and see what the future holds. How are you liking the Brevida?

      I get hundreds of emails a day asking for free advice. I answer as many as I can while producing free content for people to view, learn from, and enjoy.
      When I ask what address you sent it do I was trying to follow up and see if it's in a spam folder or if you sent it to some nonexistent email address. I gave you the benefit of the doubt with the "What's the deal?????" comment, that it didn't have some snarky entitled inflection to it. I change my mind as to what I think your intent was behind it.
