Respect to Shohei. He could have asked for whatever he wanted from teams, but he did this because he wants to help the team. The guy is unreal.

  • @johnnguyen699

Do you think Ohtani really needs the money...? Smart move Ohtani.

  • @williamquemuel7824

Ohtani won’t get booed. These ex-players on the show are just jealous. Fans around baseball will appreciate how humble and sincere Ohtani cares.

  • @mavensbaseball

Every former player loves this deal. Every baseball fan thinks it's a BS deal.

If he wins just one World Series, he will be a "Billion Dollar Player" money coming from JAPAN...

When has Shohei ever said he "wants" to be the face of baseball, like AJ puts it? Only thing I've heard from him is he wants to win and thanking the fans/city for support. Wasn't AJ hung up on Shohei not speaking English during press conferences? I wonder if he feels the same way about 600+ Americans who played in Japan who can't speak a lick of Japanese. Should they have learned enough Japanese to converse to reporters? - WW

This AJ guy has always been an Othani hater. Dude, Ohtani is already the face of baseball, he doesn't need to do all the stuff that you want him to do.

  • @lasticonoclast

Only losers talk and talk and talk. Ohtani is going to let his actions speak for him.

  • @juliehernandez1914

People are pissed because he wants to win and shows that all the other big contract players are in it for the money. Great move Ohtani, can't say I feel sorry for the Angels.

  • @broman74dude95

Nobody complained about Tiger woods when he avoided media. Now AJ is comparing about Ohtani not talking to media. Ohtani will be fine. In fact, he prob will speak abit more but don’t expect he is going to give media everything

  • @buddhavaro

AJ looks like he was crying before the show started....poor guy 🤣😂

  • @alexsakon

Shotime said “up your ass newsome!” 😂

  • @danborges716

The greatest basebol player of all time.

  • @JeremyDale216

Nah. He was “projected” to receive $50M+ a year as a 2-way player, even though he’s not going to be pitching.

  • @jaylawvlogs264

And remember shohei bet on himself. He took a less contract as a rookie to be a two-way player. And I give the angels credit for letting him do it. If you think about it, the huge stars like Michael Jordan, for example, he was not approachable when he played Even to this day he still isn’t He’s an icon. Shohei will rise to that same level.

    Actions louder than words

Don't worry about the price of food at the stadium, you can bring in your own.

  • @zforzone

They think taxes in Japan especially Tokyo is cheap. 😂 most Americans live in their own bubble.

  • @MEnglish404

Off the field Shohei makes over $50 million in Japan alone. So he'll be okay.

One of the reasons why Ohtani chose the Dodgers over the Blue Jays is because of the broadcast time slot from Japan. The Dodgers on the West Coast will be broadcasting around 10 a.m., while the East Coast Blue Jays will be broadcast around 2 a.m. Japan time. In other words, Japanese people will not be able to watch live broadcasts of East Coast teams for the next 10 years. Otani wants Japanese people, especially children, to watch him play baseball live. That's why I first decided on the West Coast Angels.
