Chickens are growing well along with the pigs. The garden so far is really looking good. Our storms here have prevented us from doing as much as we could for now but its getting much better. The Lord knows how much and when we need rain. God Bless.

Nice to have a garden. Looks like you can increase production by planting closer together, if you have the water and fertilizer to support the growth. The chicken tractor is a clever idea. The piggies will make a fertile spot, herbs ?

I will say I am jealous you already have that much yield thats incredible! We here in NH (zone 5B) are right around the corner for planting. Still in the 40's overnight! Doing corn, onion, carrots, and tomatoes and peppers which will be transplants from the local green house!

I remember my grandpa raising his hogs. There eas a "slop" bucket by the gate. He'd mix that with dry feed and put it in their trough. Grandpa was blind, so he had been knockec down a few times by the hogs. He kept his cane handy for a dissuader. He was successful in that they ended up in the smokehouse.

We have a similar setup with the chicken tractor with wire in the front and a blocked out back for wind protection. We found if you move them with the wire in front they walk with you better than trying to move it with the blocked out side.

My grandfather alway bought wheat shorts mix the nigh before and it would sour. Everting that didn’t go to the table went to the pigs. They loved that stuff. I’m sure rice bran would work too

Wes try *Bordeaux Mixture* for blight, it's a mixture of Copper Sulphate & Lime, it works for Tomatoes & Potatoes. Also Freshly boiled New Potatoes with fried Bacon & blanched cabbage that has been fried in the bacon grease is what I look forward to every year here in Ireland!!!

Hi Wes spring is looking pretty good down your way and that's a nice start on your garden. Your animals seem to be growing good sure love fresh farm eggs and butchering your own meat brings back great memories of growing up on our home farm. Wish I was able to get out and raise my own animals for food I have the space. Being disabled though really puts a block in doing alot of things one use to love. We just went through a cold spell here and had a couple days of snow.

Bean trellis. Cut a cattle panel in half. Put an 8 foot metal stake at each end and tie the panels to the stakes with heavy plastic zip ties.. Mount one panel above the other. 7 feet tall. Easy peasy.

I use cattle panels for my beans drive a couple stobs in the ground bend it over into an arch the beans that are up high hang down easy to pick. My wife really likes it it’s easier to find them.

have you looked at putting wheels on it. I have looked at a few tractors because we have been talking about raising meat chickens. it will lift it up a little when you move it but might make it easier moving and keep from losing anymore

the only thing that I found works for tomato blight is not have tomatoes for two seasons. if there is blight within 1/4 mile, you'll likely get hit. best defense is plant varieties that are resistant and pray a lot.

Very best way to keep bugs off plants none toxic is chop up hot peppers then boil it for an hour then sift it and use it to spray the plants daily ! But it will burn children and pets but it will also keep most animals out !!!

Wes, its probably better for that pig to stay skittish. Getting emotionally attached to animals that you plan to slaughter for personal consumption is a extremely hard to do. It will get easier with time, but I know a couple people that ended up with pet pigs cause they couldn’t do it
