- Hello guys this is Nick from HF Survival School , thank you for joining me ! Today we will learn how to make a Survival Bow Using an Umbrella. My father will teach us how to make his childhood favorite weapon for hunting , before he had a shotgun. The design was invented by my father and uncle 40-45 years ago , so you won't see this anywhere . You can kill almost any small game , if you train hard and gain accuracy which you do after a while of shooting it. I have a survival note book that i hope to water proof one day and this is definitely going in there. I might try it my self in a few days if i have a spare. People dont realize that this type of knowledge opens your mind up to future situations when creativity is needed. So thank you for this knowledge lol.
Just watching some old video's Nick your dad is a great guy with lots of awesome wisdom . I grew up just like you on a off grid homestead we grew lots of own food and raised animals. My older brother and I hunted and fished a person can get pretty creative when you live like we do.

HF Survival School Also, the reason why umbrellas were stronger when he was a kid probably had to do with how durable old Soviet products were.
Soviet stuff is practically indestructible. XD The best and most expensive things at army surplus stores here in the US are old Cold War gear from the USSR.

Smaller brace height would make it more effective. It needs all the help it can get being so tiny. Would be better off making one of wood and using those as a gig type point for fishing.

Very neat! I think it would be a little more powerful if you didn't bend it as much when stringing it. The longer the draw, the more the arrow is accelerated and, thus, more power.

A survival bow is meant to be made with natural materials in the middle of nowhere, youre not gonna find an umbrella and stuff like that

not very good as an actual bow but it should work well for a small diy crossbow,definelty gonna try it out!
+ninja ninjopoulou You wont kill a deer with it but you can kill small game for sure and in an urban survival situation it is a good thing to know , because 95% of things needed to make it are on the umbrella itself. This umbrella came out weak but believe me with a proper one , it is a deadly weapon. This arrows are insane they go through meat like butter. Thank you for watching and have a nice day !
