Would you have a drink in the bad boy toddy wine bar or what ahah? 🇱🇰
You sounded high when you were talking about the cow lol
@@ExploringNew1 no he wasn’t high. If that was when he patted the white cow on the bum he said” “ Asda price” it’s a special joke for us Manchester folk. There’s no way these two are stoners 😂
Ahah Susie is right
Done it in Goa & yes some strange blokes either high or pissed 😂😂. Lish is a trooper being sent packing id of been telling them where to go. So well done you. Feni in Goa I’m sure petrol would of been less brutal 🤮. Great vlog you pair 💕💕
Woodapple & ginger beer 1000 times better than stinky toddy wine😅
This duo is very underrated travel vloggers. No dramas, no fancy editings nothing just 100% pure contents. That’s why I love them.
Really do appreciate that cheers!
For the first time, I’m seeing someone exploring the real Sri Lanka!!! Keep up the good work mate!
Appreciate it thanks a lot. We love to do this, don't see a point in visiting all the same places and making the same videos over n over!!
Glad you stood up to the guy who try to scam you, if you ever need help always ask the young people near you or a decent local they will always help you. Young people of Lanka are the best they are not tainted by these scamming boomers they will always help and be honest.
Can't be bothered with liars we don't take any rubbish. Yeah luckily everyone pretty much we met has been great tho! Not really met any bad people 🙏
Awesome series so far! You two are my favorite travel pair on the TH-cam. I’ve been watching SEAsian vloggers for years in preparation for my move to Hua Hin. I don’t want your travels to end! It’s like reading a good book that you don’t want to put down. I’ve worked in Televison the last 32 years, your vlogs are top level. And the reason I wanted to comment! You don’t bother much asking about subscribing and liking the vlogs. It’s refreshing. You guys are authentic and humble and I love watching the subscribers grow and grow. 100,000 up next! Nice one! Well deserved for both of you. I won’t recommend anyplace for your next adventures because you two always pick the best places without my input! Cheers from Los Angeles!

Hi ellis. There are three types of toddy in Sri Lanka. One is from coconut tree other one from palm tree which you see mostly in north and east part of srilanka. Last one kithul. There are three type of jaggry as well.
Ellis, ure lucky get such authentic experiences. You find them in the right places. This Sri Lanka trip you will never forget. Trust me. Ure leaving with so many pleasant memories. Sri Lanka is Vibes man ❤

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL REPLY
TO MAKE ELLIS UNDERSTAND..
WHY LIKE THAT YOU
Love the parts of your tasting food; do more of them. You should do a food channel. You have a great knack for making it look like the viewers can taste the food! Easy to watch your channel. Your channel is unlike some TH-camrs who are so loud and obnoxious and often quite invasive in how they approach the people.
We do appreciate that thank you. We're just chill I also dislike when youtubers shove their camera at people and don't give any respect
@@EllisWR Yeah, Sri Lankans find it strange to have strangers saying hi to them in random places or asking their names, which you rightly dont do. I have seen some TH-camrs, who have no respect for cultural differences, calling random Sri Lankans "machchan"! Such an abuse of the language. To say that they are mistaken to assume that the term means "friend" is generous. They never bother to even find out why the term is so so personal and never used by strangers. These TH-camrs become the butt of jokes when they abuse the language that way. It is not even a simple abuse of the language. It is imperialistic to think they can use any word however they please.
Happy new year to Elis and Alicia 🎉🎉🎉
Nice video....lovely beaches and jalebis! Good thing, you'll did not go up the light house...not well maintained those ladders and the guy was fishy!
0:38 wow one of my favourite songs. "Kondayil thalampoo..."
And bro thank you for supporting locals. ❤❤❤
Always 100 percent 🙏🙏🙏
That's not biscuit, it's call Roti made with flour and coconut slice.
Mixing well , then buring in pan.
And it not a sack . Its main course
Those are small coconut rotis , they are dry because this version of coconut rotis supposed to eat with hot plain tea with bit more sugar and don't normally eat with coconut sambol eat with a chile paste mix
Not Eccles cakes then.,
@@SusietravelsIt is just a simple meal, originally made with freshly grated coconut and rice flour, mixed with a little bit of salt, water, and sometimes just a touch of green chilies and a bit of onion. Now people use plain wheat flour instead of rice flour because it is easier to spread the roti when made with plain wheat flour. When making roti with rice flour, you first need to spread it on a banana leaf, then put it in the pan with the leaf because the rice flour dough crumbles. wheat flour one you can directly put on the pan and make like a normal roti.
The ratio of coconut to flour makes the difference. People eat this with a spicy curry or chile paste.
45.51 - Is called New Kallady Bridge. The old metal one was built during the British colony period (Lady Manning Bridge) (1924). The new bridge was built parallel to the old one due to high traffic (2013).
East cost known for blue beaches, main reason for sri lankans to vist east coast is blue shallow beaches , most famous beach famous sri lankans is "Nela weli" means blue sand beach but rip currents are high in east coast .sea looks calm even in 2 feet deep water there are many powerfull rip currents.
Just discovered your channel Ellis , like it a lot. Are you still in Sri Lanka?
Try ginger ale , less sweet than the ginger beer
From Wikipedia. Elle is a popular bat-and-ball game in Sri Lanka which is also a localized name for slow-pitch softball, often played in rural villages and urban areas. From modern-day sports popular around the world, Elle has the most similarities with softball. Roots of the game: Historians suggest the game existed from the early 20th century in Sri Lanka.

I really want to go to Koh Kood when’s the best time to visit and which hotel did you stay in with your mum and dad?
Also is that beach you call Russian beach really called that or is there another name for it?
Thanks both keep up the great work put a tenner in the pot to get you some breakfast x
Hey Nicola any questions atall just fire them over always happy to help.
We have visited both times in late November before it gets busier (never super busy tho it's a small chilled island) March ish is high season for thai people so I guess prices go up then and it is hot! But beautiful no doubt.
We stayed in siam beach resort it's really nice about £50 60 a night I believe and bang bao beach is probably our favourite. Restaurant is not good though and like 5x the price of everywhere else so we recommend taking a bike (like 200 baht a day) if staying somewhere like that so you can eat in the little family restaurants (some really good places)
Russian beach is called Khlong Hin Beach resort, it also looks nice there but I think you can only book by direct contact and unsure on prices!
To get there from Bangkok can take direct bus from Mochit terminal to Trat then it's like an hour ferry there's a website that shows em all called Trat ferries.
We recommend breaking the journey on the way back or there in Chanthaburi if you have time. Very beautiful little place we made quite a few videos there.
Again any questions just ask we'll try our best to help
A nice chill out vid. Some good content 👍🏻 it’s great how you just wander around & come across things like the rounders match & toddy bar etc
Thanks for sticking to principles / You taught the S.O.B. a lesson !😢😅

Palm wine, palm toddy, or simply toddy is an alcoholic beverage created from the sap of various species of palm tree such as the palmyra, date palms and coconut palms.
In Sri Lanka it is simply called Raa. You will not find it in a wine shop. You get it from toddy sellers (not to be confused with kassipu sellers, which is moonshine and deadly if you become addicted.) Toddy is a cloudy palm wine with roughly about 7% or 8% alcohol content….it’s quite pungent .
It is mostly drunk early morning when freshly made - like 5am or 6am…manual workers, agricultural workers etc. always have a glass or two to get them set up for the day. Fresh is best. Thrre are horror stories about rats in the vats .Palmyra toddy is made by fermenting the sap of the Palmyra palm tree with yeast, which converts the sugars in the sap into alcohol. The resulting beverage has a slightly sweet, sour, and fruity taste . Its origins can be dates back to the 5th century
You seem to be an expert of Kassippu and toddy 😂😂😂😂
Keep it up
Get up at 5 am for a fresh glass of toddy 😂😂😂😂
I love it ❤

' Elle' is traditional game in sri lanka. Normaly use bamboo stick as bat and rubber ball. 16 players need for one team and game more like to baseball but elle has its unique rules and regulations.
Super interesting!!
19:40 Elle is a popular bat-and-ball game in Sri Lanka which is also a localised name for slow-pitch softball, often played in rural villages and urban areas. From modern-day sports popular around the world, Elle has the most similarities with softball. The game is played between two teams and the play scenario involves a hitter, a pitcher and fielders. The hitter is given three chances to hit the ball pitched at him or her. Once the hitter hits the ball with the bat - often a sturdy bamboo stick - the hitter has to complete a round or run which includes four possible "stoppings" spaced 55 metres (180 ft) apart. A strikeout happens if the hitter's ball is caught by the fielding side or if the fielding side is able to hit the hitter with the ball while he or she is in the course of completing a run. The hitter can stop only at one of the three stoppings in the round thereby paving the way for another member of his team to come and become the hitter. The side that gets the highest number of (complete) runs wins the match.
Appreciate all the info!!

Wish happy new year
Toddy must be drink as soon it's take out from coconut tree. Usually take long time to come Shop for selling so the taste will be weird and don't think it's good to health.
Yes but if it's fresh it wont be alcoholic. The longer you keep the more alcoholic which is surely the whole point for those who drink that stuff.
That's Asda Price on a cows arse...class 😂
😂😂😂
Happy Tamil New Year 😊
You need to import those king coconuts and lime, 😂
❤❤❤
Toddy types in srilanka - 1 kitul toddy ,2 coconut toddy ,3 palm toddy
Top stuff
You drink continuously . Get addicted to it.. Its local Beer from coconut tree.
Made me so gassy
@41:45 "if you rub a cow's balls you get good luck ". Could be a problem as cows by definition are female. Hopefully rubbing a bull's goolies gives one similar luck. Talking of balls what you were eating at the snack joint were fish cutlets & patties part of the traditional Sri Lanka "short eats".
