In Persian Maqam, the differentiation could be done even in lower levels: a branch (gooshe) which is like a specific subset of a Maqam. A Maqam which generally has heroic sound could have a subset tune which would sound very pastoral.
I like the explanation. Now I understand why for example the Maqam in the Saudi way for example it has its own personality and character that is different from other countries like iraq or Egypt. Each country play it but in their own way. Like a dialect or a slang.
Yes it is but the feeling and the implementation is different in my opinion for example The ajam maqam is the Major scale, the Nahawand maqam is the natural minor scale, Hijaz maqam is the phrygian dominant scale, kurd maqam is the phrygian mode, and maybe there others. Greetings
