I played at max volume to "sound whore" in a game I was trying to get very competitive in to see if I can hit esports. I was actually doing good and could have had a shot. the loud volume really helped me play like I literally could hear everything that was going on. But this being 6+ years ago I now suffer from permanent tinnitus. I try to live with it but to anyone thinking to crank volumes up like I did, trust me it is not worth your hearing. not only becoming deaf, but alot of people who suffer from tinnitus (sometimes even me) get depressed. I also have frequent stress attacks and feel very nervous consistently because of the tinnitus. I heard people even request euthanasia because of this condition. No matter what friends tell you "oh I play max volume too, I don't lose hearing" they're not you, they might be able to handle it better than you, dont compare yourself to them, trust me do not do it.
It's too late for me now, but atleast I can maybe reach 1 person and be the reason they do not end up with hearing loss thanks to my story and advice.
