The craziest thing is this plotline was actually based on Larry David's real life when he quit SNL and changed his mind and pretended he didn't quit.

Saw an interview with Jason Alexander where he talked about a plot/script they were developing, and he said “This would never happen, and even if it did, nobody would react this way.” Larry David said “This happened to me, and I reacted this way.”

Only Larry David can write something that is so funny and uncomfortable at the same time.
In this case he did just that when he left SNL in the 80s. He just transcribed it.
Him and Jerry wrote for the show. Otherwise the show would be called David
This is based on Larry David’s experience at SNL. IIRC, he literally did this after blowing up at them for never using his material. And I believe it worked.
Even the casting. That loud mouthed, rotund office pain the backside female and that guy who was telling them glowingly about his child that no one would give a stuff about.
I disagree. Whoever wrote “Scott’s Tots” from The Office would deserve a similar accolade.
And this is why my parents always told me "If you're gonna quit your job, have something else lined up first'.

Jerry was actually being a good friend here. He was humoring George's nonsense in a very compassionate way.
Not really. Jerry always had it super easy (even admitted to such multiple times) and always kind of had a smugness about it toward George and to a lesser extent Elaine, who did actually have some normal difficulties. I always sympathized with George because although he was a character and had some self-inflicted wounds, he just never got the good dice rolls in life Jerry did, but he always pushed through.

The boss started to get around the room asking what they working on and then got to Larry David and he said *im thinking about doing a sketch of this acrobatic troupe* and the boss replied *ok ok yea yea* and moved on to the next person & that was that. Very peculiar but funny.

3:55 the timing and delivery on 'Is that Costanza over there' is perfection
The buildup is so good. The positive energy in the tied up joke at the beginning and the invite to the party really create the illusion that George is going to get away with it.
Poor George didn't realize that by 2022 you can make lots of money watching movies and reacting to them online. What a world we live in now

Not everyone dude. Most people don't and back then there were critics who published their reviews on newspapers or tv, so it's not like everything has changed that much.

The most underrated part is how quickly Dan throws George under the bus. No thought of trying to stand up for his co-worker, just straight-up sending him to the wolves.

That's the conclusion of the scene, it's not uNdErRaTeD... it's basic "Do I know you?" style of joke Jerry always throw at George.

OMG, I just watched this episode and couldn't stop laughing, because this is the same situation that I'M in right now😂 His conversation with Jerry is so relatable, and I've literally been thinking about just showing back up one day like nothing happened.🤣 I think this why this show was so popular, because the average person can relate to these characters and scenarios.
George moving on from the projectionist idea after Jerry says he has to know how to work the projector is hilarious.

We’ve all been there with managers like this but a key thing to do is the exact opposite of what George did.
Just find a job before you quit, keep things cordial, and make sure you leave behind an anonymous flyer that contains info on what everyone is getting paid.

This legit happened at my office this week. This lady walked out on Friday at 9 am, took 2 trips to her car to get her stuff from her office, and ignored the manager. Come Monday she showed her face again that morning. Today, she was back at work like nothing happened. Apparently, HR blocked my boss from firing her.
