    Wow. So many thoughts! I'm currently pregnant with our first and [randomly] discovered your channel as I was googling baby stuff. I came across this video after watching a handful of your others (including the ones on being in a mental hospital) and I wanted to encourage you in not only sharing your life with TH-cam viewers, but also your heart. My husband has struggled with pretty bad depression in the past and was also in a mental hospital, and I struggled with bulimia for almost a decade and spent 3 months at Remuda in 2006. (Thankfully I've been in recovery since then!) Needless to say, there's a LOT I can relate with in what you shared. All of those things can be so hard to explain, and you did such a great job at putting words to them. I know you posted this a few years ago, but I wanted to thank you for being real and vulnerable and to let you know that you're still touching people's lives through these videos. :)

    Really appreciate your honesty. Btw it doesnt sit right with me at all that due to a pastor living a bad life the whole congregation was encouraged to go on a fast :s glad it helped you on your path though!

    • @sitcomchristian6886
      @sitcomchristian6886 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well....I can kinda see it. If the pastor was really living a crazy (albeit secretly) lifestyle, they were either looking the other way or didn't recognize the signs. But I'm not tied to that, churches make the wrong call all the time and maybe that was one of them. Or maybe they were fasting as a way of asking God what to do next. I'm with you though, glad it worked! 🤷‍♂️

      I had the same thing with here being an interruption in my behaviour. I worked at a summer camp and could not make myself sick else the kids might notice.That completely broke my habits and a year later everything was gone. Life can sometimes be a great medicine eh!

    • @Thisisanoldchannelthankyou
      @Thisisanoldchannelthankyou 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      OMG (sorry I am sort of live chatting here whilst watching). The things you changed - like how you talk about yourself, attitude to exercise, making being healthy your goal- are things i also did! I didn't get treatment by a doctor for it and can't really explain to people how I managed to get rid of my EDNOS but it seems that someone else has done similar. This has encouraged me to help share my recovery with other people who may need help. Maybe I'll send this video to the next person who pops up in my life that needs to hear this x

    You seem the perfect women, but you show me everyone has bad things and thoughts. I'm so proud that you are now so happy! I want to see you soon!!

    We live in a COVID pandemic right now, but we have lived in a different pandemic for many years. You talk about the "enemy." I think this enemy--satan--is attacking young girls. I am a teacher. Every day I see these young, talented, intelligent, beautiful girls feeling so insecure about their looks, when really, there is not need. They are all already beautiful. And sometimes it's the most attractive girls that are the most caught up in this crazy cycle. Your advice is spot on. In an effort to teach self-esteem, we've sometimes taught our youth to be self-conscious, always comparing, always judging. Comparison is the thief of peace. Furthermore, we need to teach young girls to ignore the negative voices in their mind. God's love is so constant. He is never the source of that negative voice in our mind. If it's not God, who is it? The "enemy."
    Again, your advice is spot on: get help, serve others, ignore negative voices. I might add one more thing. Who do we surround ourselves with? A huge part of your story is the people you started hanging around with. They were non-judgmental, positive people. This is extremely difficult for young people, but we may have to change our group of friends.
    Satan also attacks boys. Our society is telling them that they are the "problem," and that they are not useful or able to contribute to the world. Boys are told they are useless. Characteristics that have made strong men are denigrated. I worry sometimes that the enemy is winning. However, we know who will win in the end. Your faith will hopefully inspire youth everywhere to find the source of strength, peace, and love--our Heavenly Father!

    Thank you so much Jess 💗 do you ever question why God is gendered as a male in Christianity and why women often don’t seem to have a place in it? I sometimes feel left out as a woman following this vision of God
