So after a devastating performance like that - the first thing he does is put the tea cup back upright - even though it wasn't him who knocked it over. Extraordinary :)
Martin I saw you in Ennis years ago you recorded a session for Clare FM in the West County I am originally from Sixmilebridge and you remind me of home every time you play simply magical
It's Kevin Crawford. Contrary to popular belief, he's there to tell jokes. But when he does play - oh man... there's flute playing, and then there's what he does.
I'd say John Doyle's backup is a brand of oblique harmonies and rhytms, be assured he knows what he is doing. These guys (all three) are among the best in the world.
Loving this compilation more and more with each passing note , and, that beautiful, fresh take on Tom Doherty's ☘💕
Sometimes you feel the earth simply disappear beneath your feet and you end up in heaven ...
The syncopation when Doyle kicks in kills me. Masters!!
Last 3 minutes just makes me smile, so good
I've been at concerts and events where Martin has had men crying with the tenderness of his tunes.
no matter how many times I watch that video it never fails to amaze me
The last tune is a beautiful and powerful performance by this two exquisite musicians called "Tom Doherty's"
An absolute pleasure to listen to.
its as if the tunes have taken absolute possession of the musicians! gods all..!
I wish I could like 1000 times
dallas gable can't wait to listen 1000 times more
Agreed. One Like just doesn't do it for this kind of playing.
Tender power of playing transends us to moments of being and listening, just that and that is moving. Thanks Martin
They sure make it look easy, don't they? Martin and John, two of my favorites, finally working together.
I've been extremely privileged to see this infamous man and Patrick in our tiny village hall on Dartmoor, TWICE !!! I'm humbled
Lovely playing from Martin as always. Simply Exquisite
the flute player is really enjoying the subleties of Martin's playing
The fluteplayer's name is Kevin Crawford and he's a wonderful musician too

Martin...that's just ridiculous playing! Wow.

There's a hole in the bucket, Dear Plastic, Dear Plastic
All joking aside. They are having a session and the flute player will be involved. I think its Kevin Crawford

Extraordinary fiddle playing. Have to say that the guitar backing sounded out of place to my ears.

Me too not in keeping
Can I change my mind ...yes it works! Oblique harmonies
John Doyle can do what he likes
