Pretty exciting driving indeed! You actually gave me anxiety just by watching you drive fast on those wet roads. But lets be real, who would wanna drive that fast in the rain anyway? Nevertheless, you truly showed us what this symmetrical AWD can do. Pretty epic!
From standstill I managed to keep up with this car level with my 10 year old Kia Forte 2.0. Around the roundabout and on the straight. The only reason he overtook me on the straight was because I throttled back (my kids came to mind). Was just curious to see how powerful the Subaru 2.0 NA was. It’s okay but maybe it’s only slightly better than a 10 year old Theta II considering how hard it had to work to stay level. Bottom line is, it’s a good family car..but if you want something to keep up with modern C-segments then look elsewhere. Thanks for the video Mr Khong. Always a joy to watch.
The Forte is not a crossover with good ground clearance and ability to soak up bad roads like the XV does. Need to compare it with the Impreza, which is lighter
Great video! I very much enjoy the tips and tricks sprinkled through the video. I think its great you enjoyed the Subaru AWD, I see big smiles :) I enjoy my Subaru Impreza Sport in the California Canyons a lot! 🖐 The NA CVT combo is quite engaging especially the positive traction you mention loading up before corners. I wonder if it wasn't raining you would have hit the CVT limp mode when it gets too hot. I've been modifying my CVT Subaru to keep the heat soak down. Suspension and drivetrain upgrades make this car even better! I've started making YT videos about my Subaru and all your points hit right at home. Thanks Uncle Khong!
Great driving, Sifu YS. The joys of driving the XV in the wet just comes bursting through! It’s so much fun to watch the whole video. Reminds me of another wet drive together in the same car!
Hi Uncle Khong, have always enjoyed your review and drive. I love the way you manoeuvre up and down the hill in the rain. May I ask whether Subaru does have local content when sold in Malaysia. Is spare parts price reasonable?
Hi, Jerry, thank you for supporting our channel. I love driving - that is my primary reason for having this channel. Yes, the Subaru is locally assembled in Malaysia, and does have local content - what percentage, I do not know. Spare parts pricing is quite normal - so far I have not heard any complaints.
Thks for your reply Uncle Khong, I am staying in a state where potholes is quite a norm in certain area. Is Subaru being tested in such condition, stability, suspension etc
Sir, you mentioned not having a full car - I've actually done a full load of 3 kids and 2 big adults in my XV2 - it can actually hold it's own well climbing the bangsar hill all the way. But I have always wished the xv2 came with a light pressure turbo engine 😄
The two cars on my wishlist to own in the near future are the Subaru XV or the Toyota Corolla Altis. The Toyota TNGA promises good handling & comfort whereas XV has the AWD. Different type of vehicles but wish to know what you think, Uncle Khong. Lots of great cars nowadays.
Im curious to see mazda's i-active predictive AWD system in these conditions. If you could in the near future do a video in a AWD mazda in these conditions as it would be fun to see how to reacts and performs.
I'm from Hawaii nice to see uncle talking story about Crosstrek in the rain. Down to earth narrative. I got a Subaru Crosstreck premium with a six speed manual trans. Pretty exciting driving indeed! You actually gave me anxiety just by watching you drive fast on those wet roads. But lets be real, who would wanna drive that fast in the rain anyway?
Nevertheless, you truly showed us what this symmetrical AWD can do. Pretty epic!
We test, you see - enjoy! Thanks for supporting us.
Hi Mr Kang, whenever I see you smile...... The car should be OK. Haha, Good Drive!!! Good Teacher Too!! I like it!!
Thanks Vikash!
Let us have your channel name!
@@YSKhongDriving I'd be honored to share :) th-cam.com/users/JasonLeung-4roller
Great driving, Sifu YS. The joys of driving the XV in the wet just comes bursting through! It’s so much fun to watch the whole video. Reminds me of another wet drive together in the same car!
Great video on Subaru XV.
Glad you enjoyed it
I like your video uncle. Really excited to watch
Glad to hear that. Thanks for watching.
love your driving style
Good advice on safe driving + precautions
Finally! Thanks Uncle YS!
During this misty condition. Vios driver can turn on that annoying rear fog lamp. Use it well, turn off when done.
Hahaha.
Nice to see you again uncle..
And, where are you from, Jessie Delantar?
@@YSKhongDriving im from the Philippines.
Great tip and sharing esp driving on the rain esp the tip on understeer.
Glad it was helpful!

Is Subaru being tested in such condition, stability, suspension etc
that smile.. that smile.. XV
Sir, you mentioned not having a full car - I've actually done a full load of 3 kids and 2 big adults in my XV2 - it can actually hold it's own well climbing the bangsar hill all the way. But I have always wished the xv2 came with a light pressure turbo engine 😄
Good input. Hard for us to get kids and such. Everybody wishes for a turbo, lol.
Same dilemma here! Corolla has boot space, XV has AWD and higher presence. Waiting for Corolla Cross to launch as 3rd option lol
True, not easy to decide..
@@kvwong1211 The cross is only 2WD and down on power compared to the XV
take care, Uncle Khong. Weather is cold these days.
Nice uncle, a new set tyre will make it a whole new level.
Haha nice one! 'Hold new level'
@@elbowstancenow1519 I didn't see i write wrong 😅
Im curious to see mazda's i-active predictive AWD system in these conditions. If you could in the near future do a video in a AWD mazda in these conditions as it would be fun to see how to reacts and performs.
I think it would be quite good. I have driven the CX30 AWD up but it was dry. Stay tuned for the video.
Thanks Uncle! might get this in the near future
Very good driver. Very similar to my car. Beautiful road. I’d love to drive it too
Go for it!
YS Khong Driving a bit difficult from here in Queensland Australia
OIC. You do have a similar road, not as great, but nice. I have driven up twice - Tambourine Mountain. Nice place for tea.
But if you ever come here I will take you on a drive up our mountain.
@@YSKhongDriving thank you
this is very great car review with high performance vehicle
Amazing driving and review. Considering buying this car. New subscriber found!
Salud from Singapore!
Thank you for subscribing, and yes, it is a great suv.
@@YSKhongDriving Thank you too Uncle! Keep the videos coming! Cheers!
very nice driving in wet condition and info.....
My dream Subaru for the price.
Agree with Uncle YS, I drove Ford Fiesta R5 at Dirt Rally 2.0, throttle control and braking control is very important. 😊😊
i have my XV; look forward to join some defensive driving course by Subaru
Magníficas características del XV manejando en carreteras de México!!!!!
se te va a deshacer en una carretera de Mexico paisa 😂😂😂
I'm from Hawaii nice to see uncle talking story about Crosstrek in the rain. Down to earth narrative.
I got a Subaru Crosstreck premium with a six speed manual trans. Go over Pali in fast windshield wiper rain. My front wheel drive Honda would get wheel slippage in those conditions. The Crosstrek is perfect for those tight winding turns both uphill & downhill in the rain.
Hi Keith, thanks for your positive contribution. Always great to have input from like- minded friends!
Uncle, please try to driving proton perdana.
Wow excellent review Sir
