As a health care professional who works in a county STD clinic. These people still out here having unprotected sex they come in with all kinds of STDs. They do not share the status with their partner/partners . Especially if they are on a medication called PREP. Due to ridiculous term called U&U this means undetectable = untrabnsmittable so they figure they don’t need to tell people because they figure they can’t spread it. Be careful folks.
I know that when people with HIV are undetectable, it's more unlikely to pass the virus. Yes, I wholeheartedly agree they are/should be giving their status before unprotected sex with others.
As a Nurse who work with Veterans. I remember proving care to a Veteran who is Hiv positive. He informed me that he can have sex unprotected because he is undetected. I had to inform him that undetected doesn't mean HIV went away. I also told him he can go to jail and/or be fined. He switched to another agency immediately and I am sure he is hiding his status from that Nursing agency
I hate how they've tried to downplay hiv with that undetected b.s. people aren't always going to be undetectable, the meds could stop working or they could stop taking them consistently. Hiv isn't even the only std he could get so he could get a bacterial infection. It's like even when people get serious stds they still don't practice self-sex how dumb and wreckless could our society get.
I'm a Veteran and has worked at the VA... I was informed by medical personnel that a Veteran is not required to disclose their HIV positive status, not even to their spouse or sexual partners... Some lie and say that they have done so... That's why so many male Veterans outlive their wives, because their wife doesn't find out until she gets sick and is diagnosed with AIDS... VA is not even allowed to disclose the Veteran HIV positive status to the spouse, unless the Veteran gives them permission to do so... If the HIV positive Veteran is going around intentionally spreading the virus to others, then his PCP or VA can report them to the Health Dept... Veterans who are HIV positive can also be prescribed Viagra, by their PCP and receive it through the VA Pharmacy...

I knew a non-binary former friend like this, he asked me why I had an issue with DL men because he was HIV +. He made it seem like I was wrong or "homophobic" because I felt that a person should disclose their status. That person ended up blocking me later because I realized a lot of people in that community do that. They don't have an issue with spreading this to others. It's really sick and scary.

I doubt he's lying. I'm gay and I know a lot of men who are okay with their partners being HIV+ because they're on a drug called Prep, which reduces the chance of contracting HIV to like 1%. However, if the person is HIV+ and undetectable they can't transmit the virus to anyone.

Nope, in some states, if your hiv positive and undetectable, you don't have to disclose your status or use protection. As long as you are taking your medication as prescribed by a physician, it would not be considered a crime. Again, the laws are different from state to state.

But you can still catch chlamydia and gonorrhea. These are bacterial infections that can help transmit HIV. See people need to understand that HIV can infected bacteria, not just humans. If an undetectable HIV infected person catches gonorrhea, they can pass the hiv through the gonorrhea.

I knew a non-binary former friend like this, he asked me why I had an issue with DL men because he was HIV +. Nope, in some states, if your hiv positive and undetectable, you don't have to disclose your status or use protection. As long as you are taking your medication as prescribed by a physician, it would not be considered a crime. Again, the laws are different from state to state.
