Hello there! I have the same blade as the one you featured in your video for the HFS 12'' A4 Heavy Duty Guillotine Paper Cutter. The blade measures 37.5 cm or 14.76" in inches. I am interested in having it sharpened and I was wondering what your pricing is like and how long it would take to fix it once you receive it. I have had trouble finding good sharpening services here in the US, but your video caught my attention and I am impressed with your work. So there is a safety on the machine, in order to engage the blade, your foot needs to step on a pedal and each hand needs to press a button on opposite ends of the machine. If you can somehow manage to get someone's head in that its off in whatever angle you like it.
If there was ever an advert for how NOT to handle these blades this is it.. Shocking... You never balance these blades on the machine unless you want to lose a hand foot or worse.. Health and safety has gone out the window. You never paper test from behind the cutting edge like in this video. Unless again if you want cut yourself very badly.. The surface finish is terrible and if I was the customer I'd return it or go somewhere else
Totally agree with you that finish was very poor I'd have never sent a blade out with that finish ,that blade should have been lifted off the machine with handles and put straight onto a bench wiped down and honed with the circular honing stone you can see in the video not the thing he used they're prone to chipping, give them their due they're better than kennedy grinding but nowhere near as good as D&P Watson who have sadly closed down
Sharpened many guillotine blades we did on a hanchett knife grinder did a good job
We had a Hanchett for smaller knives and a Toyo that went to 110"

We never picked up or set down knives without out handles screwed in, that made me nervous seeing him freehand them :)
I agree too. It is verry careless he is handling the blade. I am sure that there is some protektive device to handle the blade safely

just about every print shop and every printers, then there laminate guillotines, card, Chaff etc etc.
