Regarding stats, its intersting take as i only really play on hard, where you need to be reliably testing ~7 in scenerio 1. Often not having a 5 in a stat can be a rather large hinderance in certain classes (mystic) and 3 and lower is close to unusable (baring survivor)
Im sure on normal when the target is 6 in scererio 1, a stat of 5 can trivialize some stuff

At this point in the game's life, the conversation of changing depending on stats is ultimately impossible, because it's all set in stone. However, I'm going to use this to further my thoughts into impossible areas.
I do think that if stats were more like Roland's, hard and expert would be less about the raw numbers in terms of difficulties and I think would be more about providing more or different challenges for players to solve. But because everything was started from the ground up with numbers being the base for difficulty, that isn't the case.

I would love to see your long form video about investigator stat lines! I feel like I'm at a disadvantage whenever I pick an investigator that doesn't have any 5s for stats.

Idol of Xanatos with Glimmer of Hope has been massively overpowerforming for me in Innsmouth. Especially increasing treachery tests that inflict dmg/horror on a failed test with Drawing Thin feels great. Just pitch 1-2 Glimmers to it, get some cash from DT, and then just buy the glimmers back next round.

What are you talking about saying they should never have the horror version of bandages? Bandages are the damage version of Grimm's Fairy Tales! And I'm only kind of joking...
Anyway, the card that defines Survivor to me is Will to Survive (3). Survivors can do literally anything better than any other class for some reason. Often times, they can even do that broken thing more than once per game. Look no further than the printed version of Eucatastrophe and Silas. The designers seemed to have trouble reconciling the weird and useless part of the Survivor card pool with the part that just bypasses game mechanics.
Like, with Will to Survive (3), you don't even automatically succeed. You get to fail tests at will, commit skills cards with broken effects (Sharp Vision...), or just straight up pass. It's like they thought the class that never dies, recurs things on demand, and doesn't care about failing skill tests needed a relatively XP-cheap option to shut down the whole game for a turn.
But there are some real stinkers in the class, as well. Like Grimm's Fairy Tales....

We always say Will To Survive is the best card we never play.

    Here are my choices:
Lucky - represents cards that help you when you fail
William Yorick - represents Getting stuff from the discard pile
Peter Sylvestre - represents Cards that literally help you survive
Honorable mention to Duke from Barkham Horror - Represents how thematically cool Survivor Investigators are.

IIRC there is the upgraded Uncage the Soul which can play from discard. But yeah, discard play is absolutely such a red thing, and Yorick is so fun for it.

Oh yeah! The new Uncage the Soul. Good call.

I think for me it's True Survivor with Stella man what an insane combo lol.
I also want the podcast about stat lines! Seems like a good idea

Haha, I was gonna comment “Justin is definitely a Survivor - playing videos from his discord pile”, but you comment already takes half the cake 😂

I want to see that other video, podcast form, like what you did time ago with the classes, now it can be with something more general like statlines and locations/enemies, etc.
By the way, my Survivor card other than the shown in this hid would be Dark Horse, is like every Red character can play that way if wanted

Doing a stella deck and took live and learn over the lucky's, just makes more sense on her but lucky is my go to for red for any other character.

The game would definitely be better if everyone was like Roland Banks. The existing situation is made worst by the fact that the most offending stats -- book and head -- are also the most common 5s. (As well as having the most optimized statlines and pushed card designs in general, in addition to book just naturally being flat-out the best skill in the game thanks to basic investigate.)
But more than that, Roland is at his core "advance the gameplan, but in your own weird way" which makes him someone who always has ways to interact with the game but also always has to jump through some hoops to successfully do so, which is how *investigators* should be.

Hey what do you like so much about Bandages? I played it in my first Edge of the Earth run and it didn't do anything.

i think that the red cards are actually for new players. I know that for you veterans survivor cards look silly but for the new players they are actually pretty good.
