Nawp, I've known about these guys for awhile. I was on a "progressive" tag search on Bandcamp going through 100's of bands one night and found these guys. What a gem of a band.
Haha yes, was thinking how I got here, when I scrolled down and saw your comment. Looked up 8 string guitars in a forum and saw this vid. Nice stuff though.
I agree with the first part, but to be ahead of their time would imply that at some point this kinda stuff will become the trend, and I just don't see that happening, for better or worse.
@@PikkaBird If you haven't followed the way that this band *independently* drummed up support from all around the nation and were able to tour with some huge acts in recent years, that's on you; in this context my comment has aged beautifully. They have since really come into their own.
@@vviinnssaanniittyy Oh I am absolutely with you there. I've been following these guys since ... 2011 I think, and I am thrilled to see them getting greater recognition and a larger fanbase. What I meant was that when I hear the term "ahead of their time" it's usually in the context that other bands later on would adapt elements or even the whole genre (what IS LT's "genre" even?), much like the djent thing that suddenly washed over the whole metal scene after just a few bands had been "ahead of their time" for a few years until the sound rubbed off on 80% of the new bands that gained exposure. I don't see that happening with LT at all, because I can't imagine this style being possible to really copy either as a whole or even in part without coming off as forced or satirical.
All of you are incredible musicians. I don't know how many times I've listened to this, but this is just an insane performance. Buying the album on iTunes soon. :)
Please play a show in Raleigh!! You'd have a huge turn out. Saw your show in Asheville, and you definitely one of my favorite bands. You guys blow me away. (: terrific!!
This has very quickly become an incredibly inspiring song to me. Such amazing guitar... so smooth. As well I am officially breaking down my 7 piece drumset down to a trap kit because of this song. This is crack for musicians.
I can't stand comments like this. Both bands are great. And have you actually listened to the musicians within DMB? Those guys are fucking talented. And so are these guys
why is everyone so focused on the guitar? wha? you've never seen an 8 string before? they're all over the place...that drummer knows what the hell he's doin....you don't see that with a lot of drummers that play in groups of this style, the dude is fuckin competent behind the set, nice job!
The mix is pretty bad, but it's a live video and it's true, they are a big band with many layers to the music. It's not for everyone and that's fine, they rock!
I don't blame anything for anything but I'd just like to say something. People considered hipsters are mostly socially less experienced people who try to show off with their special talents. They don't like mainstream music cause they don't get recognition by mosta people.. that's why they create their own world. A mainstreamer would never understand this cause he didn't experience the same things as the hipster. Music is nothing else than a living experience. Blaming = Disrespecting others life
Ok. A friend of mine posted this on facebook earlier today. So, I tried to check it out. I didn't have my speakers on. BuMaybt I thought that it had way to much going on to make it a good song. When I plugged my speakers in, I found I was correct. Nice try fellas, but there is way to much going on in this song. It's way overdone. Maybe if it were simplified, it would be enjoyable. Sorry, just sayin'. I do like the name of the band though, seeing as how I am from Tybee Island.
FANTASTIC. this is why people need 8 strings!
Oh, hey uncle ben
Yeah i'm hooked on this song, this band is killer. Josh Martin is one of the greatest guitarists of our generation.
Anybody else get lured over here from the realms of prog-metal?
Tosin Abasi? :)

Definitely. Less odd meters than I'd like... but there's plenty else going on to make up for it!

I can't believe it's not djent :D
This group blends so many elements from so many different influences so tastefully. So far ahead of their time!
just in time.

This is so unbelievably good
you have become a major influence in my music and the way i write it. thank you.
I love the song! The music is haunting in a way. I could easily get lost in my mind listening to it.
All of you are incredible musicians. I don't know how many times I've listened to this, but this is just an insane performance. Buying the album on iTunes soon. :)

The violinist looks and plays perfect. And the lead guitarist is other-worldly.

I usually hate this genre of music with a passion but you guys actually know what you're doing. Excellent stuff and keep up the good work!

Enjoyed the show last night. Will have to check y'all out of town some time so that I won't be working and can really get into it!
Yes..finally someone that gets it.
this is why I don't get people who say little tybee are just about Josh Martin, they work so well as a group!
super awesome
What a great guitarist, that would be great to incorporate into my playing. Excellent.

Was he playing don't fear the reaper at 0:30? These guys are too awesome.
Little Tybee = Eargasm
@jgolig The 8-strings just get me, haha, and to hear a voice in front of it is just amazing.

these guys remind me of the reign of kindo in a sense that both band are freaking awesome!!!
I've already forgotten the lyrics, I'm still chewing on the music. Great song!
Brilliant! And I just met John dell'isola, who made a new guitar for Josh Martin.
i saw this band tonight, it was fucking magic!!!!
Sick. I love it! You guys are from Savannah Arts? What year?
Adore this, I'm glad this guy uses 8s for something other than just the "money' string. Here's to innovation at it's finest.
It's insane how groovy their flow is
The guitarist's name is Josh Martin :)
he fucking slays live, more than competent.
sweet vid, sorry i couldnt make it out!
I can't stand comments like this. Both bands are great. And have you actually listened to the musicians within DMB? Those guys are fucking talented. And so are these guys
@GGPvideos I agree entirely.
can anybody please recommend some bands/artists that play a similar style of music? this band just amazing!
"I liked shit out this...Like isn't even good enough word...i think i looo...looooooov v v ..-when little tybee tought me to love
Where can I download, or buy their album?
holy piss that was good.
@TheEndOfTheSand Hipster? Lol is there a good explanation as to why they're considered hipster in your terms?
@GGPvideos haha, I love STS. but I'd say radiohead + mahivishnu orchestra
@TheEndOfTheSand this has to be the most horrific comment i have ever read on youtube. good job
That's exactly the first thing that I thought.
8 strings = total freedom!
Anyone know where I can find the lyrics to this song?
0:36 hahah "more cowbell!"
It's because he would probably make some amazing metal :)
My Morning Jacket + Scale the Summit
@Rambo29
:)

idk why this reminds me of a james bond song lol
The mix is pretty bad, but it's a live video and it's true, they are a big band with many layers to the music. It's not for everyone and that's fine, they rock!
Please tell me that you've checked out their other stuff, now that they have other stuff. So good! Better mixes! excellence!

Its like James Taylor got jazzy with Stanley Jordan
@TheEndOfTheSand = Hipster
the next coldplay
What, you're not allowed to enjoy several different genres now? I must've missed that memo, sorry.
how do you tell a million hispters in atlanta that they actually like dave matthews band?

I'm a metalhead...not of that opinion. Don't lump me in with the rest of them.
M
Radiohead fans by chance?
Sounds like straight up jealousy.
Not everyone enjoys redundant sixteenth notes Mr I'm wearing a deathcore shirt
No, more likely prog-metal nerd, seeing as showing off neat tricks on guitar is apparently more important than playing actual songs.
this is why I don't get people who say little tybee are just about Josh Martin, they work so well as a group!
+tommyzoom88 people just wanna bitch about everything and listen to just about nothing
Jahka aka the entirety of youtube
