  • Checking out my 10 gallon pygmy cory tank today.
I started a few months ago with a group of 8 hoping to eventually breed them. I do have another tank that has a group of 6 in it as well. I may end up putting them all together in the 40 gallon breeder where the other ones live in the future.
I love how active these guys are, constantly on the move and hunting. I would love to have them in just about every tank I have!!

Pygmy cories are so cute and wiggly! I got 5 - only four survived the first week, sadly - and I can't help thinking that was too few. They're the sort of fish that are the most fun when they're in groups, and four fish is not really a school...

Sad, they really do love being in groups!

@@beardedbobsfishroom7654, don't worry. I have 6 on hold at my local fish store and will pick them up tomorrow... 10 is at least better than 4.

When I used to breed various corys, I would do 40% cold water changes. It simulates rain.

Ive tried about 20%... maybe Ill bump that number up! Thanks!

@@beardedbobsfishroom7654 suupposedly if you do it right as a cold front moves in it helps.

Nice looking tank. How are the fish holding up? Any luck getting them to breed?

Not so far, I have moved them into a 40 gallon breeder with 9 more Pygmies, so Im hoping this should help speed up the process. Thanks for asking!

Not sure how reasonable it is for you to change/fluctuate their water temp. Sometimes Corys will do fine in a temp that isn't their best, and sometimes they just like the fluctuation.
