In this video we react to Rags, a Nickelodeon Original Movie that outshines pretty much every DCOM ever. It stars, Max Schneider, Keke Palmer, Avan Jogia (cosplaying as Russell Brand), Big Time Rush and Drake Bell for some reason. The soundtrack is full of bangers like Someday and Me and You Against the World. But the best thing about Rags is that it actually does the Cinderella remake genre justice.

Rags is a Nickelodeon Original Movie. It is a musical, gender-switched inversion and modernization of the Cinderella fairy tale, starring Keke Palmer, Max Schneider, Drake Bell, Avan Jogia and Nick Cannon. The film premiered on Nickelodeon on May 28, 2012.
The film was released as a DVD on August 28, 2012 as a double feature with Big Time Movie.
Plot:
Charlie Prince is an orphan living in his late mother's karaoke bar, The Palace, willed to his stepfather Arthur. Arthur makes Charlie do most of the work cleaning the bar; the other employees, couple Diego and Martha, love Charlie like their son while his stepbrothers, Andrew and Lloyd, annoy him. All three boys dream of being singers, and while Andrew and Lloyd lack talent, Charlie is talented and can write music. In the beginning, Charlie performs on the streets of New York City, and the narrator Shawn tips him.
Kadee Worth is the daughter of music mogul Reginald Worth, president of Majesty Records, and is a pop phenomenon. While the world knows her as a superstar, she is frustrated with singing other people's songs. Just adding to her annoyance is her "boyfriend" Finn, who she is dating because her father believes it will help her sell records. All Kadee wants is for the world to hear and see her talent.
One day, Arthur sends Charlie to deliver his brothers' track "Androyd" to Majesty Records for their newly announced talent contest, and on the way, he bumps into Kadee. He drops off the disk, then notices a job offer as a janitor. Shawn, an employee of Majesty Records, sees him and tells the receptionist to make sure Charlie gets the job. Later, Shawn catches Charlie singing in the studio and helps him record a demo. Throughout his employment, Charlie bumps into Kadee, slowly making an impression on her, and meanwhile Arthur receives notice of Androyd's rejection from the talent contest.
Kadee finally talks to Charlie outside of work and reveals that she writes her own music, and Charlie takes Kadee into town and encourages her to sing. She performs one of her songs on the street. As thanks, she gives Charlie an invitation to Majesty Records' Masquerade Ball, where the company will announce the winner of the talent contest, but Arthur confiscates the invitation and uses it to take Androyd to the ball. With Diego and Martha's help, Charlie sneaks into the ball.
After dancing with Kadee in disguise, Charlie meets Shawn, who gives him a demo CD with the stage name "Rags". When the talent contest winner fails to appear at the ball, Arthur sends Androyd up. Shawn encourages Charlie to perform. He steals the show, but hurries out after as he sees his stepfamily. On the way out, he kisses Kadee, telling her to "Be you," and accidentally drops his CD.
Kadee is desperate to find out who Rags was. Kadee tracks down Charlie at The Palace and asks for help. Charlie attempts to confess his identity, but Kadee doesn't hear him, leading him to help with the search auditions; nobody else had heard the second song on the CD, so whoever knew the lyrics was Rags. Lloyd encourages Charlie to go after Kadee and promises to keep his secret.
At the auditions, Charlie encourages Kadee, telling her again "Be you". Andrew shows up to audition and leads Charlie to his father, who locks him in a closet so that Andrew can pose as Rags. Though Charlie escapes, he arrives just in time to see Andrew shake hands with Reginald.
Charlie packs his things but Kadee finds him and pleads with him to stay until she introduces Rags. To everyone's surprise, she calls up Charlie. Charlie begins to sing for the crowd, but invites Kadee up to the stage.
Charlie and Kadee start dating. The movie ends with them singing "Me And You Against The World" at The Palace, now owned by Charlie and still managed by Diego and Martha.

The way they got tricked in the fake reveal was so funny to me
This is my absolute favorite Cinderella adaptations next to After the Ball and Disney's live-action version. Another reactor reacted to this movie and hated it coz frankly they just didn't get it. I love the comparison to A Cinderella Story but I saw similarities with the animated version of Disney. The loving couple in the diner reminded me of the little mice that helped Cindy and Kady's friends were like the birds who got Bruno the dog to help get rid of Lucifer the cat. They have a Bruno in this and the cat I believe is the lady who always wore black.

Oh, I remembered something and had to come back to this video, because you both seem nerdy enough to find this little bit of information interesting. I'm a big, proud fan of all 12 movies that were created, based on the book A Cinderella Story By Leigh Dunlap, that's why I know this piece of information. Cinderella's name in the original story was Bella. The reason they called her Cinderella in the original story is because she'd always be covered in Cinders. So as a way to mock her, her family would call her Cinderella.

Alright, I need to teach you both. This movie, Rags, I believe was based on a book called Rags. You mentioned A Cinderella Story. But what I'm sure you don't know, is that there are 12 movies based on the book, A Cinderella Story, written by Leigh Dunlap. They are not all kids' movies. I won't tell you which one, but there is a movie that is based on A Cinderella Story by Leigh Dunlap, in which the actress who plays the main character has sex on the lawn of her house. Yeah, you're right, that is some kinky stuff. Now, you may never reply to this comment. You may never even see this comment. But if you'd like the list of the 12 movies based on the book, A Cinderella Story, reply to this comment and ask. Thank you. My favorite character in the movie, no surprise, is Amanda Benson, played by Ariana Grande, and I will always love the way Amanda yelled “This is so fun!” as she’s doing backflips. Fun Fact: That yell was in the 1st promo. So, I was prepared to love that yell, and I got it.

I'm not trying to insult you, I'm a fan, but I feel a true fan would point these things out, so you improve. Something else, that guy you called her manager, that's her dad. Drake Bell is a producer who helped him by providing free time in the studio, which usually costs thousands of dollars.
