I can always come back to this game and put another 50+ hours into something new and different from everything I’ve done before. There’s no point to any of it, but I just love the experience so much that I never seem to tire of it.
Note that you don't have to raise each pylon and then activate it in one go. I find it easier to get the lie of the land by raising the 2 pylons by the alter/terminal first and not charging them, and then do a lap finding all the other pylons and raising them, but again not charging them. Once all they pylons have been raised, charge the 2 near the alter/terminal and zoom round doing a lap to charge all the others. That way you don't get stressed with a timer going off, trying to find the other pylons to raise and charge. So in summary, raise all the pylons first, then charge them all once all are raised. o7
If you bring the 8 HN Shock Mounts with you (and also have the 24 Focus Crystals), you can unlock the FSD booster while you are out there in synuefe en-h d11-96 at a small station there. Makes the trip back to the bubble a little bit shorter!
@@Naz-uh6dg The sites are approximately 900Ly from Sol. It doesn't take that long to get out there and back. I usually go out there 2-3 times a week, to help other Commanders get the blueprints. And there is not more risk than doing anything else in this game.

Also, when you go to grind for guardian modules, make sure you are in a small ship like a DBX. You will have less trouble finding a suitable landing spot nearby the site. And if you want to cheese the sentinel's rocket attacks, make sure the Point defence module is located on top of your ship and not on the bottom.

You are a freaking fount of knowledge! This guide made guardian farming much more approachable. I now have all the guardian mats I will ever need thanks to this vid and your site! Your videos are a godsend thank you so much! Also during my farming I found 4 additional destructible panels not on the map (2 power conduits, 1 power cell, 1 tech component). In case anyone wants to add them to their farming route: Using DtEA's map - the power cell and tech component are by the center-most pylon (facing the alter, with pylon behind, the tech component is on the left wall; the power cell is on the right 'beam'); the 2 power conduits are in the northern and southern-most structures, in-line with the center pylon (located on the center 'beam' of the T-shape). For anyone wondering about Odyssey: The location still exists on the planet, but the layout is different. It's not a difficult to learn layout though, and everything works as expected.
Additionally, the pylons are symetrically laid out. Find the center line of the site. When you find a pylon, cross the center line at a right angle to find its match on the other side.
Excellent instructions, thanks for doing this! The map makes it easy to find the pylons that need to be activated, and after that it's a doddle. The sentinels are fairly easy to kill. As others have mentioned, fit point defence turrets on the top of your ship, and land near the ruins, that way the PD's on the ship will attack the sentinels missiles. There's really nothing here for the inexperienced commander to be worried about, go for it!
Hey, you probably should mention to mount the on-ship point defense on top side (I recommend Asp Explorer), and park the ship as close to the site as possible to reliably defend the srv vs. missiles. Good guide!
@@khoshekhthecat Nah, it's a utility mount. There's one above the cockpit. Fit in a point defense, and it will shoot down the missiles aimed at the srv, even when you're not in your ship.
I FINALLY got my Guardian FSD Booster!!!! Elite Dangerous is a great game but it is not easy to learn. It requires intelligence, some training, quite a bit of research, and lots of patience. If a gamer is missing any of these attributes then they will, most likely, not like this game. D2EA, thanks for posting this video.
if anyone is trying to do this after the odyssey expansion and not finding any blueprints close the game and launch horizons it worked for me first time.
I love the fsd booster. I have a stubborn build for my Anaconda. It can handle pve, has research, recon, and repair limpets, fighter, and a full exploration load out. Between all that, the booster gets me back up to 40+ lightyears. It's my "Almost-AnyConda!" The booster also gets my phantom to 65lyr.
I absolutely love these tutorial videos, just built a decent exploration ASP-X without any prior knowledge thanks to your pre-engineered FSD guide and this guide.

Thank you for the video, I just got the blueprint fragment😃 I went around the place a few times to learn what's where, and I finally managed to pull it off. I have never been so motion sick in my life though, I was shaking and sweating and was about to heave my breakfast. Usually driving the srv is fine, but all the jumping and the wonky controls on the srv really did me in. I wish it was a bit more responsive.
While you’re there do 3 loops. The fsdb, shield booster and module reinforcement are the only ones worth having. Dashboard flip until you have enough components to do all 3. Could go to the ruins and get the data you’ll need for the gauss cannons too.
Thanks for doing this, you're a life saver, my first attempt at getting this FSD booster failed miserably. I simply kept running out of time to activate all the pilons because I constantly kept getting lost in the ruins and those sentinels really weren't making it easy; I finally just ended up giving up. Now I can use your map and the "free camera" view to find out where I am; and I now know to trigger and clear out the sentinels "before" I start gathering the components. I arrived back at the planet, got my ship as close to the site as I can and this weekend hopefully I will finally bag that booster
Just bumped my AspEx From min 29(and some change)ly to min 40.24ly in a solid 1/2 day of work. :) Plus the UPS guy dropped off my T16000 flight pack today and my tablet for running GameGlass came a couple days ago. Now to make the flight pack, game glass, and voiceattack keybinds all get along with one another and then it's back to continuing to engineer my FSD and then it's off to the black for some well deserved alone time...

Nice summary! I did this about two years ago at a different guardian location, took me 30 minutes to land my ship since the terrain was so rough. Definitely will be using your video when i go out for more guardian stuff

LOL! I literally have spent the past 2-3 days cruising in the SRV just to farm mats for SRV ammo/hull/fuel for the guardian tech materials grind. Probably kicking off the journey to synuefe tonight.
Success! Worked like a charm. Thank you, D2EA! Best tip from this vid is: Park your point defense boat as close as possible to the site. If I'd had to face all those missiles with just my srv I think I'd STILL be at it. A small clarification: You can harvest your relic at any time. I'd advise doing it before you start the pylon clock. ALSO: The timer is for activation of all six pylons. It does not include activation of the blueprint ball. So once you've got all six pylons burning, you're off the clock. FINALLY: Be familiar with how to reload your srv gun. When you're under fire is a terrible time to try to figure it out ;/ 66.79 ly unburdened will get me places!
Superb helpful guide, thank you very much! Only thing I'd add is it's vital to do this in Horizons mode NOT Odyssey. In Horizons each pylon you activate adds to the time available to find the next, so you have plenty of time overall. In Odyssey, there's a bug so you don't get any more time and that makes it very difficult to get round them all. I found it best to start with the pylon immediately in front of the altar, so I didn't have the challenge of getting up near it at the end (but then I'm not a very good SRV driver). Also to aid navigation around the base (mental map), I found it helpful to think of the central spine of the site, with a pylon each side close to the top/altar, and the two others symmetrically placed easily found by running alongside the earth bank which runs orthogonally to the central spine towards the other end.

I just did this for my very first time. Make sure you bring materials you can use to synthesize SRV ammunition and SRV fuel. I had to do a top-up of one each (lowest quality) and left with maybe 40% fuel remaining and less than 1,000 rounds. I didn't know entirely what I was doing at first (like I had to google the hotkey to see from my turret lol) but hopefully that contextualizes what you should bring based on your level of confidence/experience (mine are fairly low when it comes to things like this). Also, the Point Defense System thing is helpful. Still worth playing as if you don't have one on your ship. Bringing a small/medium ship helps but I was able to bring a stock Anaconda with a PDS mounted on top and it still worked when it needed to, and I managed to park basically hugging the edge of the site from the corner where the two technology components drop. If you hadn't already noticed, it's worth mentioning in case you didn't: When you charge a pylon, your timer increases. You get a pretty comfortable amount of time to charge each. If you're really, really inexperienced, do yourself a solid by turning OFF your SRV's driving assist procedures if you're experienced with driving a Warthog in Halo lol. Should put you in familiar territory.
That's what my crew was thinking. 4 of us hit a site, with 3 focusing the Sentinels while one person does their thing. Should be crazy easy with 4 ships all with PD mounts.
@@beepy9666 I was in a wing of 4 we had 1 in his ship flying high guard shooting at any sentinels that showed up with his ship's weapons. The rest of us had our ships with PDs on the top shooting anything that got past the high guard. We each took 3 pylons with the 3rd SRV sitting at the altar. I think we did 8 or 9 loops of the pylons in less than an hour. First multi-player activity I ever did in the game and a whole lot of fun. Oh, and we took a Squadron Fleet Carrier out to the site in the first place.
Great content. Very helpful. In following your guide tho I discovered 2 other destructible panels that gave me guardian technology components. It sped up the process a tad. One I couldn't find again. But the other is on a wall near the farthest pylon strait in line with the orb

Found the thanks to your toolbox. My only problem now is that my srv handles like a bucking bronco and throws me all over the place. This is going to take a long while. Edit: Never mind. Completed everything today and got my hands on that sweet FSd booster after all this time. Totally worth it. Synuffe was a pain to get to but you were right it spawning the tech components.
It's worth noting, I did this grind a couple of weeks ago, and there's a fifth Technology Component spawn on the center ramp. Just above the destructible panel on the side of the building, if you head back to the center ramp and look backwards towards that building, there's another panel on the arch support that spawns a fifth TC. You can get 5 Tech Component drops per run doing this. I felt so stupid when I realized I kept passing it by without ever realizing it was there. So here's hoping this saves other people the same grief.
I really appreciate the work you did here...this is just me but I vowed never to the "hoop jump" again after unlocking all the engineers. I am happy without the extra jump range...I would like it but my exploring days are over. Thanks though great content. Very concise and helpful.

It also ads time when you activate the pilons, so by the time you get all six charged its like 12 minutes for the countdown. No big deal if you take your time and get the lay of the land. I think its worth mentioning you can also trade down manufactured materials to focus crystals at a manufactured material broker if you have a ton of extra engineering materials sitting around.
I fly to Guardian Structure. Took jackson' lighthouse. SRV controls are ATROCIOUS. Scan Orb. Jump all the way back to Felicity. She isnt the material trader. Get to a guardian tech broker. 24 FOCUS CRYSTALS need. But I have 60+ Exquisite focus crystals from Robigo farming.... FLY BACK TO GUARDIAN STRUCTURE Log in log out farm 3 or 4 technology component. WHAT A GRIND.....
Gathering the focus crystals was the hardest part. Got to the Exploration Camp and there were a couple of materials to pick up, but I only got maybe 1 or 2 focus crystals. Dav's Hope also was the same story. Still, I was able to take some of the materials from those camps and a bunch of previous combat I had done, and used INARA to find a Materials Trader. I have everything I need finally, so...guess I'll be off to get the module. But not now, do it another time. This game is too hard sometimes, I need a break.
I experience exactly the same! Getting the Focus Crystals is pretty hard. Going to use mats trader, I only got 15 from previous combat and the ones in settlements are (if they spawn at all) always Flawed type. o7
There is a fifth tech component drop in a small panel to the left of the center pylon you shoot, if looking towards the data platform. Great videos too.
A good informational video but I think you skimmed over the point defense lasers. The missiles the sentinels fire will flip your SRV over and make it difficult to fight back. That's not a huge problem but by having the point defense module on your ship you can avoid being flipped over most of the time. Also, your ship must be parked close to the ruins for the module to be effective. This takes some time but is possible. Once on the ground, don't take off until you have collected everything you need from the site. This might take a couple of log off/on to accomplish. You might get a message about logging off in a dangerous area but it really isn't a problem. Lastly, and I learned this the hard way, make sure you point defense laser is mounted on TOP of your ship. If it is mounted on the bottom, it will be useless. Happy hunting! o7
Thanks for the video. I am having a hard time with this, but finally I rode up to the last pylon and wtf, out of ammo! Nothing to make more with. Guess I am out of here empty handed. Make sure you can make more ammo for the SRV before going here. especially if you intend collecting a lot of powercells etc.
Also, take 2 SRV's you can restock from the fleet carriers nearby, but now that I lost my damn frustrating to drive SRV, I am out of here. Might come back another day, but realistically I have realised that elite dangerous just isn't that much fun for me to play. Nothing about the last 3 hours I have spent getting dizzy on this planet as this piece of crap SRV gets thrown all over the place has been fun. Not one second haha.
Here I am 3 hours later, finally have the Ancient data terminal glowing blue in front of me. 14% hull left and only 217 shots. Each sentinel takes a min 100 shots as I peck away 1% at a time. Anyway here I am and I cannot f'ing scan the damn thing. I just see Ancient Data Terminal in orange and PUBLIC in red. wtf! nothing works, I cannot scan it.
I know this is a bit old - But I've not seen it anywhere - Nor is it listed on your map. There is another single Guardian Technology Component at Synuefe NL-N C23-4 B3 close to Pylon 3 (the center one). As you are next to the Material Tower with Guardian Power Cell, Guardian Technology Component, Guardian Power Conduit and as you are looking at the single panel with the 1 Guardian Technology Component. To the right where the open "Hallway" with Pylon #3 - To the right is another single panel with another Guardian Technology Component.
Had the FSD booster for quite some time now, but didn't know about the alt Davs Hope.... and I'm needing more Tech Components too for other Guardian Modules, so thanks. o7

You forgot to mention that you will most likely be grinding for guardian technology components because they drop the least amount of times, so its best to check how many technology components you have before leaving. Also if you want to farm data go to an ancient site and find an obelisk with 2 data points then just relog infront of it.
Quick tip if anyone needs it. Don't waste too much ammo on the towers. I made the mistake of not locking on and wasting a ton of ammo. When I had to fight the last 4 sentinels I only had 200 ammo left so I had to evade them all and my SRV got destroyed. Also you have to hit the glowy blue bits on the pylons. I wasted a ton of ammo just shooting the pillar.

You only have to unlock the FSD Booster once, then you only need Cr to buy as many modules as you want. Yeah agreed, then add the grinds for the Power Plays for other upgrades like Prismatic shields. That really is a game within the game

I simply kept running out of time to activate all the pilons because I constantly kept getting lost in the ruins and those sentinels really weren't making it easy; I finally just ended up giving up. Now I can use your map and the "free camera" view to find out where I am; and I now know to trigger and clear out the sentinels "before" I start gathering the components. I arrived back at the planet, got my ship as close to the site as I can and this weekend hopefully I will finally bag that booster
Just bumped my AspEx From min 29(and some change)ly to min 40.24ly in a solid 1/2 day of work. :) Plus the UPS guy dropped off my T16000 flight pack today and my tablet for running GameGlass came a couple days ago. Now to make the flight pack, game glass, and voiceattack keybinds all get along with one another and then it's back to continuing to engineer my FSD and then it's off to the black for some well deserved alone time...

LOL! I literally have spent the past 2-3 days cruising in the SRV just to farm mats for SRV ammo/hull/fuel for the guardian tech materials grind. Probably kicking off the journey to synuefe tonight.
I went with no reserve ammo, and left with 50 remaining. So close to becoming space dust lol!

Success! Worked like a charm. Thank you, D2EA! Best tip from this vid is: Park your point defense boat as close as possible to the site. If I'd had to face all those missiles with just my srv I think I'd STILL be at it. A small clarification: You can harvest your relic at any time. I'd advise doing it before you start the pylon clock. ALSO: The timer is for activation of all six pylons. It does not include activation of the blueprint ball. So once you've got all six pylons burning, you're off the clock. FINALLY: Be familiar with how to reload your srv gun. When you're under fire is a terrible time to try to figure it out ;/ 66.79 ly unburdened will get me places!
Superb helpful guide, thank you very much! Only thing I'd add is it's vital to do this in Horizons mode NOT Odyssey. In Horizons each pylon you activate adds to the time available to find the next, so you have plenty of time overall. In Odyssey, there's a bug so you don't get any more time and that makes it very difficult to get round them all. I found it best to start with the pylon immediately in front of the altar, so I didn't have the challenge of getting up near it at the end (but then I'm not a very good SRV driver).
Also to aid navigation around the base (mental map), I found it helpful to think of the central spine of the site, with a pylon each side close to the top/altar, and the two others symmetrically placed easily found by running alongside the earth bank which runs orthogonally to the central spine towards the other end.

I just did this for my very first time.
Make sure you bring materials you can use to synthesize SRV ammunition and SRV fuel. I had to do a top-up of one each (lowest quality) and left with maybe 40% fuel remaining and less than 1,000 rounds. I didn't know entirely what I was doing at first (like I had to google the hotkey to see from my turret lol) but hopefully that contextualizes what you should bring based on your level of confidence/experience (mine are fairly low when it comes to things like this).
Also, the Point Defense System thing is helpful. Still worth playing as if you don't have one on your ship. Bringing a small/medium ship helps but I was able to bring a stock Anaconda with a PDS mounted on top and it still worked when it needed to, and I managed to park basically hugging the edge of the site from the corner where the two technology components drop.
If you hadn't already noticed, it's worth mentioning in case you didn't: When you charge a pylon, your timer increases. You get a pretty comfortable amount of time to charge each.
If you're really, really inexperienced, do yourself a solid by turning OFF your SRV's driving assist procedures if you're experienced with driving a Warthog in Halo lol. Should put you in familiar territory.
Did you get the module fragment? I did not after scanning the data terminal...
When I did this I joined a wing of squadron mates. It was a lot of fun and much easier than doing it solo.
That's what my crew was thinking. 4 of us hit a site, with 3 focusing the Sentinels while one person does their thing. Should be crazy easy with 4 ships all with PD mounts.
@@beepy9666 I was in a wing of 4 we had 1 in his ship flying high guard shooting at any sentinels that showed up with his ship's weapons. The rest of us had our ships with PDs on the top shooting anything that got past the high guard. We each took 3 pylons with the 3rd SRV sitting at the altar. I think we did 8 or 9 loops of the pylons in less than an hour. First multi-player activity I ever did in the game and a whole lot of fun. Oh, and we took a Squadron Fleet Carrier out to the site in the first place.
Great content. Very helpful. In following your guide tho I discovered 2 other destructible panels that gave me guardian technology components. It sped up the process a tad. One I couldn't find again. But the other is on a wall near the farthest pylon strait in line with the orb

The reality is that guardian grind isn't that long really... It just feels slow and tedious.

Found the thanks to your toolbox. My only problem now is that my srv handles like a bucking bronco and throws me all over the place. This is going to take a long while.
Edit: Never mind. Completed everything today and got my hands on that sweet FSd booster after all this time. Totally worth it. Synuffe was a pain to get to but you were right it spawning the tech components.

It's worth noting, I did this grind a couple of weeks ago, and there's a fifth Technology Component spawn on the center ramp. Just above the destructible panel on the side of the building, if you head back to the center ramp and look backwards towards that building, there's another panel on the arch support that spawns a fifth TC. You can get 5 Tech Component drops per run doing this.
I felt so stupid when I realized I kept passing it by without ever realizing it was there. So here's hoping this saves other people the same grief.

It also ads time when you activate the pilons, so by the time you get all six charged its like 12 minutes for the countdown. No big deal if you take your time and get the lay of the land. To anyone not being able to see Camp C-N04, you have to be in supercruise to see planet signals from orbit.
I think its worth mentioning you can also trade down manufactured materials to focus crystals at a manufactured material broker if you have a ton of extra engineering materials sitting around.

Gathering the focus crystals was the hardest part.
Got to the Exploration Camp and there were a couple of materials to pick up, but I only got maybe 1 or 2 focus crystals. Dav's Hope also was the same story. Still, I was able to take some of the materials from those camps and a bunch of previous combat I had done, and used INARA to find a Materials Trader. I have everything I need finally, so...guess I'll be off to get the module. But not now, do it another time. This game is too hard sometimes, I need a break.
I experience exactly the same! Getting the Focus Crystals is pretty hard. Going to use mats trader, I only got 15 from previous combat and the ones in settlements are (if they spawn at all) always Flawed type. o7

There is a fifth tech component drop in a small panel to the left of the center pylon you shoot, if looking towards the data platform.

Getting back into the game after a 2 year break. This info is still very useful. The timer is a pain though.
A good informational video but I think you skimmed over the point defense lasers. The missiles the sentinels fire will flip your SRV over and make it difficult to fight back. That's not a huge problem but by having the point defense module on your ship you can avoid being flipped over most of the time. Also, your ship must be parked close to the ruins for the module to be effective. This takes some time but is possible. Once on the ground, don't take off until you have collected everything you need from the site. This might take a couple of log off/on to accomplish. You might get a message about logging off in a dangerous area but it really isn't a problem. Lastly, and I learned this the hard way, make sure you point defense laser is mounted on TOP of your ship. If it is mounted on the bottom, it will be useless. Happy hunting! o7

Thanks for the video. I am having a hard time with this, but finally I rode up to the last pylon and wtf, out of ammo! Nothing to make more with. Guess I am out of here empty handed. Make sure you can make more ammo for the SRV before going here. especially if you intend collecting a lot of powercells etc.
Also, take 2 SRV's you can restock from the fleet carriers nearby, but now that I lost my damn frustrating to drive SRV, I am out of here. Might come back another day, but realistically I have realised that elite dangerous just isn't that much fun for me to play. Nothing about the last 3 hours I have spent getting dizzy on this planet as this piece of crap SRV gets thrown all over the place has been fun. Not one second haha.
Here I am 3 hours later, finally have the Ancient data terminal glowing blue in front of me. 14% hull left and only 217 shots. Each sentinel takes a min 100 shots as I peck away 1% at a time. Anyway here I am and I cannot f'ing scan the damn thing. I just see Ancient Data Terminal in orange and PUBLIC in red. wtf! nothing works, I cannot scan it.

I know this is a bit old - But I've not seen it anywhere - Nor is it listed on your map.
There is another single Guardian Technology Component at Synuefe NL-N C23-4 B3 close to Pylon 3 (the center one).
As you are next to the Material Tower with Guardian Power Cell, Guardian Technology Component, Guardian Power Conduit and as you are looking at the single panel with the 1 Guardian Technology Component. To the right where the open "Hallway" with Pylon #3 - To the right is another single panel with another Guardian Technology Component.
How would a person figure this out without some tools. This is the simple way lol. Thanx

Just did it. ASP EXP 55Ly jump range, from start in bubble all the way to the site, then back to tech broker. ~1 hour and 20 minutes.

You forgot to mention that you will most likely be grinding for guardian technology components because they drop the least amount of times, so its best to check how many technology components you have before leaving. Also if you want to farm data go to an ancient site and find an obelisk with 2 data points then just relog infront of it.
Just noting, when you said to jettison the relic, you actually selected abandon.
Quick tip if anyone needs it. Don't waste too much ammo on the towers.
I made the mistake of not locking on and wasting a ton of ammo. When I had to fight the last 4 sentinels I only had 200 ammo left so I had to evade them all and my SRV got destroyed.
Also you have to hit the glowy blue bits on the pylons. I wasted a ton of ammo just shooting the pillar.

i didn't notice the SRV used ammo up until i made it to a gardian ruin. ive never ran out of ammo for the thing up until that point

You only have to unlock the FSD Booster once, then you only need Cr to buy as many modules as you want. Whew. I'm starting to think I just don't have the time and skills to ever do much more than just cruise around the galaxy. And how would one play the game without access to all these tools and websites? I am probably out of my depth. But I enjoyed the tutorial. Thank you!
