Looks good, obviously. But this is already out of date now, 4 years later. The new chest area has an even more improved flexible motion frame, kinda like an exoskeleton for the midsection that allows for even better free movement and quicker reaction timing from the wearer. This was recently trialed in a training exorcise by our lads for the first time in the states. Don't worry though, it is British made (it is a British product) and it'll be for our army, 'if' the tests all get the green light.
No the bean counters set the budgets, test defined what they could get away with (civil servant) and troops chose the least shit (top brass). This geared up to blame the end users when in reality a decision had already been made - by the bean counters.
I had I chuckle when I saw that the component line drawings at th-cam.com/video/GzIKWiXmBDg/w-d-xo.html were mostly mine, done for the MOLLE System out of the Soldier Protection Directorate, god, more than a quarter Century ago (yup, 1998)? Natick Labs FTW!
The helmet and armour is good but the webbing and bergen are horrendous. Plus , wtf is it partly made in China for ..Does anyone think things through logically anymore ?
Yeh, but why the new helmet? Wasn't the Mk 7 basically just adopted? Surely from a procurement standpoint it would have cost less to adapt the Virtus faceguard to the Mk 7 helmet, possibly even getting the British Company making the Mk 7, NP Aerospace, to licence production of the adapted faceguard? Currently, from what I understand, we've just spent all the money, time and effort adopting the Mk 7 and issuing it as a UOR, just to immediately scrap it to buy helmets from abroad.
Prubbs MK7s will not be scrapped, in fact mk6's from the 80s are still in use. Basically teeth units will recieve a full issue of VIRTUS-eventually, whilst support units will continue to use MK7s, all those who do not currently have MK7 or Virtus helmets will be issued refurbed MK7s or new Virtus helmets-FYI all soldiers undergoing training are now issued Virtus helmets. As for bergens, webbing etc support units will continue to use the current PLCE kit until the stocks of those are exhausted, ie for a while.
Dat Offensive Guy Parts of VIRTUS are currently under significant consideration and redesigning, namely the belt and bergen because theyre both fairly shit, at the moment most units are opting to stick with PLCE bergens and soldiers privately purchased belt kit fyi
MOD could have done better 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️. Guys still prefer to buy other component to make life better. Army investment is really pathetic who ever is I charge of budget should be fired.
Those burgens are so good squaddies have gone back to old one and sold the virtus on ebay
Because most of them never got issued the spine thing with it 😂.
@@katyg3873everyone got issued the spine with it. The kit is piss poor and failed on the majority.
89 components qm's will love that

Yes, occasionally the paras, and definitely the marines, but normal british army soldiers don’t use AR-15s (in this case canadian C8’s)
4:33 looks like IDF to me. Optics and solid green cammy gave it away.
LOL not chosen by beancounters - that's a first.

My problem with this vest is no molle on side of the vest kinda big issue for RBAV,MBAV and CIRAS user ;-)

Bergen and webbing combined? Personally I'm a fan, maybe not with a bergen, but with a 60L assualt pack on it runs fine

Prubbs 1: It will take a while to phase in VIRTUS, 2: Even in the UK's current economic clusterfuck, lives over money.
Prubbs blame Source for that, it's the package they offered.

the brits helmets they wear now look like the tip of a penis. its too round.
The new helmet looks like the Canadian helmet. At least in appearance.
Can’t shoot with mandible on. LWD doesn’t work. Webbing is shit, pouches are turd. Only decent thing to come from virtus is the body armour.
Looks cool but nah, me and the boys are gonna wear Pattern 58s and Mk5s into the middle east
Based
At least tuck the ubac in
absolute turd. webbing breaks if the wind changes direction and the bergen can just about fit a combi tool in.
Jinx .Howitt well you clearly don’t know what this is about then.....
Cool soldier
the helmets banging
It’s light and pretty comfortable but unfortunately it provides less protection than the preceding Mk7 helmet
funny enough thats israeli made
Source components are. A fair portion of the fabric components will be made in China (as usual), and the helmets will be made in the USA.
Not big fan Virtus Bergan, Daysack or Webbing.

Yes a good sistem
Nope, it has many flaws.
@@Steinstra-vj7wl bro how is it flawed and its been a Yr
