I have all these things but still want to quit job after 18 years of web development. Same work which excites you before don't excite me anymore. I think sometime you need undivided mental space to think what you want to do with rest of your life. Some people like me cant think it along the job as if u r high paying its demanding. I am not saying my managers keep demanding, your work is demanding for skill upgrade , 2 week sprint where end of the sprint you need to showcase what you have done. So what i am saying career break can be blessings in disguise.
STRESS and no family time. So many older people sick and have no real relationship with their children and spouse due to always works and anger from tetribke job. Then theh regret what a waste those 50 years of life thrown away.
People in product based companies are from different level, they wont worry about skills or project because these product companies would be working on cutting edge technologies and projects and they only look for problem solving skills, extremely hardworking and smart people. Not everyone can take a lot of stress and work with their peak potential every day. I know people making 50lpa with 2yrs of exp and also 3lpa, 5lpa with the same exp in service based companies. These extremely high paying tech jobs are not everyone's cup of tea. These companies keep the standard so high that the people who were able to crack them wouldn't be sticking longer and become financially independent and start their own startup.
I think it's myth in IT sector specially I have not seen all combinations of good things like good boss,good salary and pramotion and good perks all these things you will never get.
As a hiring strategy, these companies should hire people who work at low salaries and do the same amount of work and are exploited. At least they ll appreciate these FAANG companies for the salary and stay longer
U need to know in India except business, white collar and Govn job there is no money. In art, film, sports there u need luck, money and contacts also with talent. Rip to ur logic about doing what u love. Ur logic failed in India. And hence indians go abroad and many do dunkins.
