looking forward to you building a complete web app with bubble - willing to pay for it if necessary as i am a newbie zero code learner struggling with the capacity of toddle at the moment. love your videos
I'll likely be returning to it in the near future but I'm really excited about Toddle which is pretty much ready for primetime & a far more enjoyable and flexible front-end builder. Maybe I'll do a Xaddle series 😉 Still got love for Bubble but with their recent actions, I agree with Eli Beachy "Bubble now feels like a fond memory rather than the future of no-code". 🤔 Stick with me & we'll get to it.
You seem to have spent a fair bit of time with Toddle now.. do you think it’s mature enough to switch over to from bubble for simple DB apps such as inventory tracking?
I would say yes , it's still isn't quite as broad in its feature set eg no plug-ins, style themes still lacking etc but overall it's there and the team are developing it at lightning pace. The things I originally thought it "lacked" were really just a case of taking a different approach than Bubble. Once they open up to 3rd party component marketplace eg plug-ins and to shareable custom formulas (code & no code) then Toddle will be limitless in what you can do with it. It's also a fun thing to use. I'm jumping in let's put it that way 💪
Just a quick note when you say DB apps, Toddle is a front-end tool & not full stack so you'll need a separate backend such as Xano or Supabase. Toddle also handles API calls in a much simpler & elegant way than Bubble imho. Also it doesn't meter API calls like Bubble does.
Bubble charge you Workload Units (WUs) to access third party APIs from within your app, even when calling them from the front-end of your app. So the more APIs you call, the more they charge you. While Toddle does have a limit of 1M API calls per month, they only charge you $2 to increase that to another 1M API calls.
this is packed good - am glad i bought toddle

So, would you say that 'Absolute' Toddle's equivalent to 'Align to Parent'?
Yeah, it's pretty much the same just without the usual Bubble abstraction wrapper. It's the z-index that makes it "float"
when are we gonna get the follow-up videos for the Xabble stack :)

@@nocodecoder4160 this is really helpful thanks. Just wondering, what do you mean by metering API calls?

@@nocodecoder4160 cheers. Might have to look at toddle if it looks like my costs will be too high with bubble then!
