Made for 218$ on an iMac it went on to win raves at Sundance and Cannes, and go down in history as one of the most important documentaries of the 21st century. Returning for the first time, we couldn't be prouder to bring it back to the world.
Jonathan was in my teenage friend group. I remember one time I was with him at someone's house and our friend's Halley and Jennifer were with us. I was laying on the couch spooning/holding Jonathan, consoling him for some reason. I did not know much about his homelife but I was very tender with him. I remember that he always had a camera with him. I also remember being in at least one of his videos. Happy for his success. I pray that his health returns.
I remember watching the premiere in NYC of this and Jonathan was there. We got to meet him and talk to him. This was a profoundly powerful documentary.

I watched this 5 years ago and I want to rewatch it because it was so ahead of its time. Plus the soundtrack is so good and one of my favorites ever, Cocteau Twins + Glen Campbell + Low

Gus Van Sant paid for all the all the music. He knew that it made the film. Still one of the best docs out there.

I have derealization and it's the worst feeling you will ever have I couldnt tell what was real or fake I thought my parents were trying to kill me. You have no idea how much a living hell it was for 3 months and still occasionally comes on in spirts
