Admittedly, I am biased on this issue because my war was Vietnam and many soldiers and pilots held in the 'Hanoi Hilton' and worse were mercilessly and continuously tortured to extract the very same kind of military bashing that Hegseth was providing from these accused soldiers against their government. Hegseth's myopic treatment of this interview provided a gold mine of anti American propoganda that a lot of good men endured a lot of unspeakable torture to avoid providing. There were 3 cowards in that interview; 2 accused soldiers, and Pete Hegseth. It sickens me to see Hegseth's book with him holding the American flag after providing her enemies with a treasure trove of propoganda to use against the US military for the 'deplorable mistreatment' of their brave soldiers. Hegseth has no place as Secretary of Defense after conducting that interview. That is just one opinion, of course. 'Your mileage may vary'.

The fact about Hegseth is that he has the maturity level of a 16 year old. He also has no depth. He is reactionary and makes decisions via knee-jerk. For example, he makes a blanket statement that there should be no women in combat. There is no nuance in his thinking. No depth. He thinks only in terms of his own experience and the obvious factors that are right in front of him. Women who cannot carry a 200lb man should not be in an infantry unit where it may be necessary to carry a 200lb man or a heavy 50cal machine gun. But there are lots of truck drivers, artillary operators, nurses and doctors in MASH units. Drone drivers, helicopter and jet pilots. All jobs that do not need seal team 6 strength and endurance. But Hegseth only sees infantry needs because that is his own experience so that is all he knows and as far as he can see. Bottom line is that Secretary of Defense requires an extreme depth of knowledge on a long list of subjects and experience that cover the entire range of military needs and a deep anf wide understanding of military strategy and tactics.

After the interview was aired, the completely one sided FAKE NEWS style softball interview, with Hegseth agreeing with everything these court marshalled soldiers were claiming, Hegseth then showed the interview to then President Trump, represented that the soldiers were telling the truth and were being 'railroaded' by the military, and convinced Trump to PARDON the soldiers, one of whom had already been convicted and the other still being tried.
Admittedly, I am biased on this issue because my war was Vietnam and many soldiers and pilots held in the 'Hanoi Hilton' and worse were mercilessly and continuously tortured to extract the very same kind of military bashing that Hegseth was providing from these accused soldiers against their government. Hegseth's myopic treatment of this interview provided a gold mine of anti American propoganda that a lot of good men endured a lot of unspeakable torture to avoid providing.
There were 3 cowards in that interview; 2 accused soldiers, and Pete Hegseth. It sickens me to see Hegseth's book with him holding the American flag after providing her enemies with a treasure trove of propoganda to use against the US military for the 'deplorable mistreatment' of their brave soldiers.
Hegseth has no place as Secretary of Defense after conducting that interview. That is just one opinion, of course. 'Your mileage may vary'.

The fact about Hegseth is that he has the maturity level of a 16 year old. He also has no depth. He is reactionary and makes decisions via knee-jerk.
For example, he makes a blanket statement that there should be no women in combat. There is no nuance in his thinking. No depth. He thinks only in terms of his own experience and the obvious factors that are right in front of him.
Women who cannot carry a 200lb man should not be in an infantry unit where it may be necessary to carry a 200lb man or a heavy 50cal machine gun. But there are lots of truck drivers, artillary operators, nurses and doctors in MASH units. Drone drivers, helicopter and jet pilots. All jobs that do not need seal team 6 strength and endurance. But Hegseth only sees infantry needs because that is his own experience so that is all he knows and as far as he can see.
Bottom line is that Secretary of Defense requires an extreme depth of knowledge on a long list of subjects and experience that cover the entire range of military needs and a deep anf wide understanding of military strategy and tactics.
That's just your worthless opinion and nobody cares what your opinion is, he will be great in that position
