    - Olive Oil
    - Medium low heat
    - Warm up egg white until bottom of pan is no longer is showing. If egg is bubbling around the edges means heat is too high-- pick it up!
    - Get under egg with spatula and move it around
    - Once you can't see color of spatula behind egg, it mean it's time to flip
    - Pull oil under eggs with spatula
    - Yolk should just give just a little and spring back, you're done!
    Thank you for this video!

      That;s the hardest part for me too, flipping the egg, and getting it out of the pan. I've been looking for a pan with very shallow sides so I can just slide the egg out, but no such luck.

    • @djayoneandonly
      @djayoneandonly 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don’t be scared of it. If you cook it long enough initially, you’ll notice the yolk hardens and doesn’t move around easily. It becomes extremely easy to flip if you do with it with some quickness. If the yolk breaks when you pick it up, you didn’t cook it long enough yet

      For my entire life I’ve only eaten scrambled or hard boiled eggs, but just recently I wanted to finally broaden my horizons a bit. I didn’t think I would like super runny yolks, so I ordered over medium at a restaurant and they came out great. Runny, but maybe just ever so slightly gelatinous. I really liked them. Dearest Deronda, I thank you for you service and your commitment to the cuisine.... I will be celebrating my 2nd year anniversary with my shmoopy boopy. I have never ventured into the world of advanced egg making, but love makes us do interesting things. I have taken detailed notes on your video and i now feel confident that my relationship will not be ruined by my egg making tomorrow morning. I will definitely leave an update of my shmoopy's reaction and whether this tutorial was a success for me.
    I bid farwell until tomorrow morning around 830am PST.... wish me luck.

    That looks more like a poached egg. Still delicious though... In my opinion, a fried egg is supposed to have a little bit of crust, so you do want it bubbling a little. Cast iron makes the best fried egg, it just requires more oil. I think the point is that "best" is preference based.

    • @oooER1Nooo
      @oooER1Nooo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Poached eggs are cooked entirely in water...

      Agree with you, need a bit of crust on a fried egg, I bet the texture feels like poached.

    Is the yolk supposed to be that runny? I want to try it, but I'm scared of salmonella! I'm currently working my way up and slightly under cooking my egg each time. I just want to know if anyone's gotten sick from sunny side up eggs 🤷🏽‍♀️

  • @jenex5555
    @jenex5555 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Yeah this is why we have people in our restaraunts order things so wrong. . If the white is set and the yolk is runny that's over medium NOT over easy. . If it's over easy then the whites will have a mild running when you cut into them.

  • @ubb4me
    @ubb4me 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Finally. A video that explains why my over easy eggs always turn a bit brown on the bottom. I need to really slow down and keep the heat low. Thank you.

  • @cameroncotton3301
    @cameroncotton3301 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    When the white isn't runny, that's an over medium.

    • @sgim43
      @sgim43 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I disagree. When you order/make overeasy eggs, ordering runny is when you get the white uncooked. Regular overeasy is the perfect egg yolk uncooked but white fully cooked. Over medium is when the yolk starts to harden but not fully... you can sop up some egg yolk with your toast but rest remains stuck to the egg white. Well done or hard is nothing runny. I mean the whole REASON why this version started was to NOT have the runny white that sunny-side up can have.

    Mine looks disgusting it turned white instantly and bubbling instantly I’m pretty sure I got she’ll In it, the egg didn’t crack proper and was a mess, my yolk looked immediately like a soup all over the pan one side looks dark yellow like it’s scrambled, other side looks like it’s not even fully cooked, I wouldn’t feed this to my worst enemy and I’m officially the most retarded chef of all time.. I’m about to scratch this plan and go down to my local diner

    0/10 this takes too long and you get no flavor because you incorrectly told your viewers not to give it color. The tempature was too low to make an egg it should take anywhere from 1-2 mintes not 5.
