This is a very interesting look at this individuals perspective as a country singer. I find this inspirational as a country singer myself. A lot of wisdom in this.
Interesting listening to Charlie talk about his dad. Brings back a lot of memories. My dad was born in 1923 and was very much like his dad. Those guys were special. Lost my dad in 2004. Thanks for your music Charlie!
I luv this 'cause it's very similar to what I do when I write a song. I regurgitate a bunch of "misremembered" bits, polish 'em, sand 'em, and make 'em rhyme. Charlie, you inspire me, to perspire, in the service of song!!!
Of course a folk song can be written but it has to be taken up by the society... you think that can happen in a splintered world of modern media multitudes of channels? But there are folk songs of a recent arrival. Can you name some?

Awesome Dan, yeah they sure don’t make ‘em like “that” anymore. Thanks saying hey and sharing that!
I was at that show in 2008!
Ha! For real?! That you hollering in the background?
I was in that bar room chorus foe sho. Back when we would see him every month on Sundays.

Love it!
Cheap Wine is another great one from Charlie
So good! I think that one’s another fine example of cycling through just a couple of chords paired with a great story!
Thank you
You’re welcome bud!

Pretty much anything by Cardi B as far is I’m concerned!
I do fully agree with the sentiment, “the song has to be taken up be society”. Thanks for the insight!
