That ball bearing is why I found a single loose bearing laying on my C115 clutch when I first disassembled it to find out why the adjusting rod was sticking out so far so as to keep the side cover from fitting. The C115 doesn’t use a ball bearing but clearly someone familiar with the clutch on bigger bikes thought it did. Use the parts book as a guide as to what does and what doesn’t go on your bike, some hack may have been there before you.
I am working on a Honda cl77 305 scrambler and took the right side cover off to clean and lube . I reinstalled it and went to kick start it and it’s just a limp kickstarter , only tension on it is the spring . Is there something you can think of that I am missing ? Thanks
Before you put the cover back on you need to make sure you rotate that spindle all the way to the right. It will click click click but then stop. I recall that being one of the nuances
I enjoy watching someone else’s hands apply force if I ever need to service mine I will watch this first. Compare the few words in the manual to what you just showed.
@@KeepOnWrenching No nothing wrong I guess I didn’t fully explain a picture is a thousand words and the ability to watch your hands apply force makes it I don’t know 3D. Your hands work a bit different to mine but very readable. Works for me.
Great job! Be sure to really tighten the kick start lever to the spline gear via the bolt as the splines on that gear are notorious for stripping. Most people also use the electric start only because that gear is only supported by the cover itself which is weak and often crack.
Hey Brian, regarding the clutch cable install to lever: you first put the cable stop into the lever then line up the slots on the adjuster and perch, slipping the cable into the slot, then the cable sleeve will go into end of perch.
Your videos are some of the best on TH-cam. Keep 'em coming. What manual are you using for the '67 CB77? I have the Shop Manual Honda 250 300 C72 C77, CS72 CS77, CB72 CB77. It leave a lot to be desired. The manual you show looks a lot more detailed. Thanks

I did it backwards but it all worked out. Found a way!

Here’s the book I used. Best I saw. CLYMER HONDA 250CC 350CC TWINS ALL YEARS SERVICE REPAIR MAINTENANCE MANUAL. I’ll make a video about it.
