So this was an absolutely amazing episode, really liked it! The Flame Hashira is really becoming one of my favourite characters (and thanks to him I now know what the name of my favourite Japanese restaurant means, so double points there) and what a cool villain technique. Of course, your reactions were wonderful (especially you both refusing to look at the opening and Kat noticing something on your sleeve while doing so, Sonny) and hilarious! Can’t wait for the next one! Also, I love the series with its humour around ‘painting the medium’ (like Tanshiro asking why the Flame Hashira suddenly got so big). It’s not a full 4th Wall Break and IMO it’s even funnier.

Also I think I get what Sonny means when he refers to a sinister death beacuse even though its a "pacific death" you are dying without knowing its happening and you clearly are not willing to die. Actually I think in war times killing people in their sleep has always been considered like a low blow even though you rather die this way than shredded apart in agony

0:20 Before I watch the reaction, I'm quite intrigued by the episodes because I watched the movie so I don't know where they will cut the episode for us wanting more.
The demons were not real. As soon as the their tickets got punched, they went to sleep. Hence, the flickering light effects, and hence the comedic cheering animation after that, which was very uncharacteristic of our 3 protagonists. From there their separate dreams started.
I have to agree with Kat about the sleep death being a very comfortable way to go. I think in general for people like me who are extremely anxiety ridden and get stressed, the option to go through the horrors unconscious seems pleasant. Not to go on a tangent, but I don't know if you guys have seen first Conjuring. We used to discuss about which sister in that haunted house got away the easiest, and I chose the girl who sleepwalked, because even in danger at least she wasn't aware of it, to be freaked out.

Akeboshi is a fantastic song on the intro. If I had to rank them, I'd say: 1. Gurenge (season 1) 2. Akeboshi (this one) 3. Intro 4 (most recent) 4. Intro 3
just to clarify, the fight between rengoku and the demons was real, after that they were put to sleep and it's where everyone has their dream individually
@@KatSonny I remember watching it on Netflix, too, when the series was released, but because I’m in Japan there weren’t any subtitles for it at all. I don’t think any of the changes in the subtitles affects the plot, but it was a little jarring for me to hear Tanjiro say “Hey! What are you looking at?”, and the subtitles read “How did you get so big?!” I think there were 3 or 4 occasions where that happened but that is the only one I remember. It’s a little strange because I didn’t notice anything like this when watching your season 1 reactions.
It's because they dubbed it that way with the voices, those are exactly the words that Tanjiro says in the English dubbing, the English takes certain licenses to make changes which is quite annoying, that's why I either watch it in Spanish or with subtitles@@odorikakeru

It can be hard matching the timings and lip-flaps, so taking liberties with the script is to be expected. I wonder how Netflix’s backend is set up, maybe they can only have one set of subtitles per language, and went with the “English for the hard of hearing” subs instead of the Japanese translation subs. Good for accessibility but bad for anime fans, a little hard to get actually angry about.

I'll just leave the original response here for others to see, if they are curious: We have explained several times why we weren't able to watch the movie, and therefore opted for the episodic format instead. So no, it is not because we decided to "milk it" - our reactions to the entire Mugen Train arc is available on Patreon now, though. And yes, spending a lot of time getting those done ahead of time *that* was an active decision. The channel is struggling to survive (and have been for a little while), so I really need to give people an incentive to join the Patreon. If you have a problem with that, then that's fair. But this is my job, and if I want to keep doing it, then I have to make sure people want to support us, and doing early reactions is a good way of doing that. Thank you for praising our genuine reactions, I appreciate that.

they want to watch episodically its fine, i have seen channels reacting to episodes too.
they have mentioned that their schedule doesn't permit them to watch the movie in one sitting. Especially as they are parents now.
