We love ours. I bought a TI-L because I like sunroofs and captains chairs, but over all this thing is a big cruiser with heaps of power and room. One of the best boot spaces with the rear seats up. This new model also has a proper gearbox now as well, the CVT is gone.
Getting a big Ford Territory vibe from this vehicle. That's a good thing. Roomy, practical storage, lots of gear in the base spec, and a grunty engine that can get you out of (or into?) trouble, while wanting to have a little drink now and again. Those Nissan V6 engines are fairly old, but very reliable, so again, very similar to the Ford in that aspect. Good to see it doesn't have the Nissan CVT which were always the problem with Nissans over the past decade or more.
Great review Matt. A mate has the previous version of this car and whilst it handles a lot of gear and is very comfortable to drive his biggest grip is the fuel economy and the CVT whine. Nissan should have stuck a diesel or a E-power hybrid in this thing and kept it around $60K (with leather seats, as an ST-L should have). I dont see many running around our town but there are heaps of Klugers, CX-9's and Santa Fe's (even with a Nissan dealer here).
Nice one Matt. Thank you. I had actually forgot that these still exist, especially considering the chosen engine configuration is somewhat dated in a world of 2.0 litre 4 cylinder turbo units, diesel and hybrid engines. It’s inline with expectations from the naughties. Not 2025.
It is a very reliable engine though, and they tend to be trouble free for hundreds of thousands of kms. And you can add a turbo on if that is your thing, plenty of aftermarket parts to upgrade the Nissan VQ V6 engines.
Thank you as always for the insightful review. Many leaks say Nissan has 2-3 years left until going bust unless the get more financial support like they did a few years ago from Merc deal and Mitsi/ Renault deal.
Thanks Matt for the informative review - I’ll now be adding the Pathfinder to my consideration set. I’m waiting for your thoughts on the new 2.5 turbo Sante Fe vs Kodiaq. I have a 2021 Kodiaq Sportline that needs replacing this year - I love the way it drives. I sat in the new Kodiaq overseas and while nice, some build quality issues left a poor impression. I’m more focused on fun behind the wheel with ride comfort and a big practical boot.
Thanks for the forecast! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Fuel economy is the big point going against this car, palisade is way better option and even carnival…how costly is kluger hybrid compared to this one? Kluger is lil smaller though, not much, Santa Fe is very small but practical
3.6l travel comfort is excellent compared 1.6l turbo with 7 or 8 occupants. 360 camera is great for this grade. Nissan reliability is better than a Hyundai or Kia
Maxima weighs a lot less. And these engines, while being old (though updated over time), are very, very reliable. Better off doing this than a current day Toyota who have totally dropped the ball with new engines and reliability issues.
This new model is a complete failure for Nissan, price jumped by 20k on all models. Nissan’s customer care is the worst. It’s non existing. Good luck if you have to deal with those incompetent humans.

You wouldn't think Nissan could fall so far. I had 2 Patrols years ago they were excellent 😊

They’ve announced Honda is buying them out. Have a read about it.
One of the better looking rear ends of current SUV's.
Agree. Badge is boss. Hahaha

Nissan is not one of my prefered brands, but on paper, this one is worth a look.
Not a suprise Nissan's losing sales. A ridiculous price for basic amenities!

Does it have a Nissan made gearbox?
No, it’s a ZF 9 speed auto.
Nissan... not a brand I think about anymore. Nice to see a V6. Thank you for another interesting video.
My van has flappy paddles as well… does that mean it’s sporty! (Excited heavy breathing)
You know it does.
@ oh my, it’s value has just shot up $5…. Going to work tomorrow will feel even more special.

With Nissan in total shambles, Do you think buyers still have confidence in the brand ?
I have an xtrail, I regret it so much. Fuel consumption is terrible.
Yikes! Nissan have really lagged behind the competiton. Didn't think they'd fall that hard.

Yeah, it is a concern. Be good with a decent hybrid setup!

25 year old engine? My mums maxima has the same engine but better on fuel.

A 4x4 with a space saver spare 🤪
Not a real 4x4.
Still too expensive and complex variable compression 4 cylinder KR engine sold in USA is ticking time bomb
It's like Nissan have always had to try soo hard just to create mediocre interior.
Hahaha it’s certainly not a festival of bling in there.

Yeesh go easy. Who hurt you?
