    This sounds amazingly versatile! Hopefully you get some time to revisit this with perhaps a slower pace and more detail. Maybe a video on sewing too for us folks who have sadly minimal experience in the craft beyond resewing a button.

    I served from 1981-1998...never heard of a Woobie,it was always a poncho liner to us Infantrymen. About the time my sons enlisted, I started hearing the "woobie", same goes for "battle-rattle", it was TA-50, web gear, Alice gear, but never battle-rattle...I guess the Brits call it "kit"

      Greencraft because I have a wool blanket so I can do the same with the wool blanket giving me the ability to be safer around an open fire. The other woobie is a Dutch woobie and has a zip already installed for the sleeping bag design. But I am concidering doing the same mods later to this once I get another wool blanket. Thanks for replying buddy I know you must be a busy chap.

    Fantastic, I’ve had one of these for ages, and too be honest not used it much apart from as a blanket so it’s often been left behind.

    This was great project. I was looking for something like this to modify my liner. I see a lot of negative comments below--mostly people who feel entitled to a step by step video tutorial and a free pattern and who knows what else. I can't say I got everything on the first go but it doesn't matter; with a little tinkering I think I can do alright. For instance, I was already thinking of lining the pocket with fleece. I believe that was the point of the video: to give us an idea of what is possible. Thanks, and well done! (PS the step by step walk-through was good enough for me; don't listen to the naysayers).

      Thank you! At last someone who gets it! For small projects a step by step guide is possible. For something like this it would be a long video. It is meant to inspire (also....it's not rocket science).

    Discarded/surplus/ unusable military parachutes are a great resource. Source thinsulate for the insulation or other high tech materials. Make a suit you can wear at camp, and to sleep in. Make giant boots with leather bottoms to help you recover from hypothermia dangers. Wear this as your clothes and shoes dry near your fire.

    Can you help me understand how the para-cord is put in on the back and through the loop on the front? I'd assume the meter and a half zipper is for using as a sleeping bad, but wasn't demonstrated?

    • @greencraft4783
      @greencraft4783  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Pete, yes the 1.5mtr zip is for use as a sleeping bag. The cord on the back bottom edge, when cinched up, is passed through the loop on the front, this creates a sort of sleeve and takes some of the surplus fabric from the back. Hope this helps.

      @greencraft4783  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@canadianpatriot5577 , it's not meant to be a "step-by-step " guide, more something to inspire you to have a go. If you pause the video at the diagrams, it shows each stage. Essentially you are putting a zip in the middle and a set of draw cords on either end. The zip runs down the long edge on each side. I hope this helps.
