Hi Cathy. What a nice gift you received from Judy. All of the yarn you showed us is so pretty. Your blanket and hat/scarf set are beautiful.
Judy really did surprise me! I hope that I can surprise her too, someday. :-) I am happy that you like the blanket and hat/scarf set. I am in a lull... only one item on my needles, and have to think of my next project (so that I stay out of trouble, just joking LOL)
I grew up and continue to live in suburbia. So I am in between mouse. I love to visit the city, but am becoming more of a country mouse as I get older. Love the yarns from Aberdeen. All the colors are beautiful. The blanket and hat/scarf set are very nice. Really like the colors in the blanket. Very happy, the kids will love it.
I love to visit the country and it reminds me of happy times. That said, I'm not sure if I have "what it takes" to live there now. So much physical and I'm a bit of a softie now. LOL The Aberdeen yarns were all so beautiful. I cannot wait for next week!!! Wishing that I had found more of the Caron cake in that colourway. It does look great in a child's blanket...
Lovely blanket ❤ Born a city and moved to country and never looked back.😊😊😊
Thank you so much. I thought the blanket was really fun to make and look forward to making another! There are so many nice things about country life. My in laws lived their life in the country, and that was where my husband grew up too...
Hi Cathy Can’t wait to hang out with you on Monday. I would love to be a country mouse but instead I live in the city but I’m located on a river my view from my apartment is a beautiful picture of the Rideau river with all its creatures and folks kayacking, boarding and canoeing 😊 with my brain injury I also talk slowly and search for words. Fortunately my viewers know this about me and will help me out with finding words when I’m having trouble. I also have a script for my channel start😊
Hi Shannon! Very excited and nervous and looking forward to having fun -- all at the same time... I am so happy to be getting to know you and grateful that you invited me to your Live. It was helpful to know that we both have found using scripts is helpful. Your view of the river sounds beautiful and I would be looking outside all-the-time to see what was happening out on the river and how each season would change there.
Thank you so much for the lovely visit on Monday Shannon... It was fun and just like having a cup of tea with you at your home. 💖🤗
Hi Cathy! Catching up on your videos. I was always a city girl until about 10 years ago where I now live off-grid. Quite the change but I love it! Very nice gift from Judy and the Aberdeen's mystery bag is super awesome. I'm very tempted to order some myself. Thank you and Happy TH-cam anniversary ❤
Hi Dimitra. My words for 2024 are simplify and share. As you know, it is not always easy to simplify in the city. And I admire that you are off-grid, where that is so much more possible. I am happy for you, being where peace and simplicity are The Lifestyle. Thank you for wishing me a Happy YT anniversary. :-) Wow that first year went by so fast...
I love how you used a book cover to pick colors for your blanket. Very creative!
Thank you so much. It really has been a fun way to make things... The Book Cover CAL is organized by Crochet With Nonna Rosanna. If you like, you can pop over to her channel September 1st -- to see next month's book cover. (I'm really excited to see what the colors will be next month.)
Those are lovely yarns Cathy. I hope you keep them for yourself.
What amazing, soft yarn from you, Judy. I am very grateful -- and still can't hold that Moongleam without petting it!
Everything from Aberdeen was lovely... Truly, I feel very blessed.
Hi Cathy! I'm so happy for your accomplishments and conquering your fears in order to bless others, which you do! I will pray that you can relax and enjoy the upcoming interview. Sometimes it helps me when I'm nervous about being in front of strangers to tell myself that it's not about me, but about helping them. You're even helping your friend by allowing her to interview you! I know it is your heart to impart helpful info to others, so maybe reminding yourself of that would help you if start getting anxious. I will try to catch the live if I can. I love your blanket and that gorgeous hat, sooo cute!
Thank you so much for these suggestions! I will read them again & again & especially on Monday -- And will try to stay focused on these things. Thank you so much for your prayers, my friend... (I know that your heart will be with me, if you cannot be at the live...)
Hi Cathy what a beautiful blanket 😊 love the hat and scarf
Hi Jeanne! Thank you so much... The original pattern for the hat was houndtooth throughout the whole hat. I changed things up a bit & just did a band of the pattern near the brim. I really hope someone will like wearing it. :-) And I enjoyed making the blanket... Definitely could make this one again!
I grew up as a country mouse, but am now a small town mouse. Your finished blanket is beautiful!
Oh yes, small town. When I lived in the country, the schools that I attended (and part time, after school jobs) were in town. Small towns are great too! The blanket was a lot of fun to make, and once I started it, hard to put it down because I kept wanting to see how the next colour change would look. That part was very fun!
Love a good mystery bag ❤
I totally love mystery bags too!
Hi Cathy. I'm a country mouse stuck in the city now. Miss the grass between my toes and the owls chatting to each other at night.
I love a ride in the country, however don't think I could live there anymore too. (I never wore shoes -- unless I had to -- when I was in the country, and agree 100% with you about grass between my toes! My toes are wiggling right now, just thinking about it...)
Hi miss Cathy. I think I'm both. I grew up in foster care so i moved around allot and continued to move around allot as an adult.
Congrats on your happy mail. The yarn is so pretty.
Oh Cathy, you're brave just sharing your history with your speach issue. You're so wonderful and well worth the waiting while you "find the words". I don't mind one bit and really enjoy hanging out with you. Don't ever let that stop you. You're doing great!
I really love your boggy creek blanket.
Ooo, that teal hat and scarf set is so pretty. You keep doing things in my fav color.
I had wanted one of the advents since last year because of diane sharing them in her channel. Id been waiting for them to come out and then learned they might have to close their doors. When they released them i got a mystery bag, an advent and their 3 month yarn of the month subscription. I was sadly really disappointed in my mystery bag. I always see such beautiful yarns when people open theirs and mine was not at all anything like that. 😢
Hi Sarah! I am a person who moves around too. It's going to be part of me, all my life I think & that's ok. Where we live now is probably the longest that I've been in one place (as an adult). I am not sure if I like country or city best -- they both are pretty good. LOL Thank you so much for the encouragement about staying with the channel/YT... That is so kind!
I am so excited to see the Aberdeen's advents in December & very happy that you could get one. I cannot buy those because I know they will be all wool, but love to see what everyone else gets...
@@YarnWithHeart I think you just need to do more advents with people trading wool for acrylic/cotton. Can you use silk blends?
I really like the feel of silk and although it is pricey, silk can be on my "wish list" LOL (That said, I recently found out that cupro is a nice silk-like fiber... and a hand dyed cotton/cupro blend is in the same price as wools are. Hooray!)
@YarnWithHeart ooo, love fine tuning what I like or don't and constantly learning with crochet
Hi Cathy, I am ALL Country.....
Hi Dianna! At this point, I don't have the physical stamina that I used to, but in my heart, there will always be some country. :-)
Hi Cathy ! I’m a country bumpkin, the city is to busy for me to many ppl. I could have a cabin in the woods with the birds and bees 🐝 . Your blanket is gorgeous ❤
There are things I like about both... and you totally have me remembering about all the stars at night, waking up to the sound of birds tapping on the window, roasting marshmallows on the bonfire (all this when we would visit at my in-laws), Not sure what we'll do after Mr. W retires?? For now, I try to bring some of the country to the city, best that I can...
@@YarnWithHeart yes you can definitely bring county to the city.. ❤️
I had to go back and re-watch this. I got that same parrot yarn! I’m hoping it’s enough to make a tee, maybe sleeveless 🤔
This was the first time that I worked with this yarn, and I really enjoyed it. Now it's on my list of ones to buy more of. (the ever growing list... lol) It will be very pretty in a tee and I hope you enjoy working with it too. :-)
I started as a city mouse. Moved to the county. And it’s developed over the years so ’m back to being a city mouse.
Oh goodness! So the city kind of grew out to meet you... What a surprise that would be!
Lovely makes Cathy and lots of gorgeous yarn! Good luck with your friends podcast. I’m sure it will be a success and I’ll try to remember to check in. I did see you pop up with Diane the other day. I think I’m a cityfied countrymouse! Lived in towns all my life on outskirts of London. Suits me as near to city but also near to countryside so best of both worlds! Xx
Hi Loraine! Thank you so much, and I really appreciate you trying to be there on Monday (no worries though if you can't, it's very kind of you -- to consider this with time difference). It really was exciting when I lived in the country and we'd make a trip to the city... That really is a fun time!
@@YarnWithHeart oh yes I was forgetting about time difference 🤣 I will check it out x
@@lorainelockwood9359 Thank you so much Loraine!
@@YarnWithHeartI just realised that it will be 1am here so I’m sorry to say I won’t be able to make it. That will be way past my bedtime these days! Best wishes for the podcast though xx
@@lorainelockwood9359 Thank you so much, I think your best wishes helped... It went better than I had imagined it might. I'm a shy sort, so maybe a bit quiet on my part. Overall it went well for a first try and Shannon set me at ease. She is such a wonderful person -- it felt just like being in her living room.
I'm a city mouse but would ❤❤❤ to live in the country. As long as there's a Timmy's nearby 😊. I'd love to go to the fiber festival but my wallet and car are both dead 😢
Hi Judy! There are things that I miss about the country & you are so right about Timmy's... Maybe we can plan to meet up at the festival next year? (Our car is very close to last legs too. I'm kind of attached to it and really want it to keep steady on.)
Hi Cathy! You are so incredibly generous, I admire that. Love that blanket! It’s so cool, the colours are awesome. I finally got my Aberdeen bags, 5 like you. I thought of you when I opened a couple, a lot of cotton and cotton blends in two of them. The yarn from Judy was beautiful ❤. I love greens. I hope you make yourself something beautiful. I have Monday on my calendar, you got this! You’re a thoughtful speaker, a wonderful trait, I’m a blurter 😂. See you then!
Oh, a city mouse turned small town mouse which I must say took some getting used to. Have fun this weekend! Check out Full Moon Fibres, I’m sure they will be there as they’re from Barrie. They are wonderful sisters and their wool is like art, stunning. I have a lot of theirs and it’s amazing to work with. My fave is called I’m Possible, gorgeous ❤
Hi Tami! Hooray, so happy that your Aberdeen bags arrived! Thank you so much for being there, at the live on Monday. That is so kind of you!
I will definitely look for Full Moon Fibres. And I love the name of the I'm Possible. Almost want it -- even without seeing it -- because of the name. :-)
Hi Cathy im a country mouse i have lived in the city when i was in high school but i never liked it. I love nature and wildlife and the city is just too busy for me.
Hi Roxsane! Those are things about country living that I really miss... the nature & wildlife, quiet roads (and a nice, big garden). Most of the outdoor maintenance, especially snow removal is taken care of here, in the city, though... and for me, that is a very good thing. LOL
Hello Cathy W. To answer your question I am a country mouse from the city. I sure hope you understand what I mean by this.
Hi Jennifer! I totally understand and love that... Thank you so much! Like me, you have lived both. :-)
@@YarnWithHeartabsolutely. I will do my best to make you feel welcome and relaxed 😊 your blankets are so beautiful ❤😊
Shannon, you are amazing -- and I see that all your guests feel very at home with you. I'm nervous, but that is all me & I'm sure once I settle in (after the first few minutes) it'll be soooo much fun!
I'm a country coastal mouse but I miss the anonymity of how a city allows one to feel 🩵🐬🌊
It must be beautiful to live by water... I hadn't remembered that about country living and you are so right!
