I completely agree with your comments about renovating these structures to form a museum so that the story of this area can be preserved for future generations. We forget at our peril and history does repeat itself. As ever, many thanks to you and to your intrepid son for this marvellous video! Your army of fans appreciate the research, the planning, etc., that go into your road trips - it's a shame that YT doesn't...
Thanks! That German WW2 defensive site was full of artifacts and structures strategically placed. Disappointing that it would have cost you around 4 grand US to transport one of the Tetrahedrons that were offered to you. That would have been something to see one of original ones in your yard. I am now wondering if your yard looks like a WW2 history museum. :) Would like to see a photo of the finished Tetrahedron model HH. Than you for taking us in the 2nd 410A Bunker. Very well designed, couldn't believe how thick the walls are. I can see why the local army would want to utilize it post war. Yes, too bad the local authorities put up all those thick metal panels prohibiting access to the bunkers. The story of the one of the locals whose Grandfather was one of the 1st security guards guarding the site after Germans surrendered has piqued my interest. Wonder how many parts of the 37MM anti-aircraft gun he was in his possession? Thank you so much for taking us there EE and HH. Looking forward to watching P2.
yes it would be so great to have one of these in the yard :) I might make one myself one day. We are going to talk to the gentleman later and cant wait for that. Thanks Laura for your great support.
Another interesting location, your research into the places you show makes them much more informative. The beach obstacles are really cool. You are right about they should be restored and put on display. Keep up the great work you do and thank you and EE very much.
I 100% agree with you about turning those bunkers into museums. It would help teach the younger generation exactly what you're teaching EE. How war should be learnt from so that we can avoid the same mistakes happening again. I absolutely loved this video. Just going to watch part 2 now.
Thanks! Those Bunkers were huge. The ST Crew Bunker did take some hits. Thanks for taking us in the one bunker. Too bad the ventilation system wasn't still working and they were able to show it as a museum piece. No, you don't want to stay in there too long with the mold. I really don't think the Germans were sloppy near the end of the war. I truly believe that the troops were heavily depleted, worn out, and no longer had the resources available to them. They did the best they could, under the circumstances. Thanks 😊 so much for taking us there HH & EE. Keep smiling.
Thanks for taking us along to these locations and showing us these massive structures! Strange to see the added rooftops but it seems like they were weather proofing the old structure as they repurposed the lower portions. I look forward to part II!! Stay safe and stay well!
Our pleasure Donald and a HUGE thank you for your incredible kind support. It is greatly appreciated and enables us to go out and do even more great explores to share with you :) Greetings and be safe out there :
It’s 9:10 am in Los Angeles , CA. I was on my iPad and this link popped up. I always feel special when I am the first to respond. Always a great video, thanks for your special work.
@@WW2HistoryHunter Heck yeah I have a welder friend on standby. Just have to get the steel pieces. which are expensive. Thank you for your adventures. Have fun.
I absolutely love watching your videos! I can't understand how someone could skip around your videos because to truly understand what is going on and what is being shown, you have to watch the entire video! I really look forward to watching your new videos! Keep up the great work!!!
When people watch in full it actually help a lot and i feel it also is polite due to the fact that we have spent a lot of time creating the adventures for all to enjoy with just a click and voila adventure. Thanks Christopher.
Thank you HH for that great location! Thank you for all you’ve done with EE ! You’re still the man of history! I’ve been showing my eight year old grandson these videos he has a new hero EE ! He has learned a lot from y’all ! The bunkers were amazing !!Can not wait to see part two !!!! Be careful !! Be safe!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Another great adventure HH & EE! I have been watching your expeditions that show us the history of the AtlanticWall, and other locations, for a number of years now, and what impresses me is the beautiful scenery surrounding your destinations. Some locations are just breathtaking, particularly the lakes and waterways. I hope to see a lot more in future. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺!
The inside of the bunker you went in was almost unrecognizable except for a few features that stood out. I find the battle damage to the bunker fascinating. I wonder if the soldiers inside heard or felt the hits on the bunkers? The walls were so thick that none of the attacks penetrated the walls. So happy you bring us these great locations. I’ve noticed TH-cam and other media sites don’t like content dealing with history of war or any content with weapons or the mistreatment of people over the years. History wether good or bad needs to be told so future generations won’t make the same mistake. Keep bringing us these great adventures my friend. I myself enjoy them very much.
Thank you for showing this great location. Another history lesson from our favorite providers in the field, HH and EE 😀 Looking forward to see more from this site.
In a perfect world, these structures would indeed be cleaned, accessible, and have informational plaques. Thanks to both you and EE for bringing this to us, and it's great to see a father instilling a love of history into his children!💖
Thank you WW2HH and EE for another adventure! I love the depth of your knowledge and the historical facts. And I completely agree that history needs to be remembered and taught.
Very interesting site, especially with all the old tank obstacles sitting in the woods. Looking forward to your return to see those AA gun parts. Thanks to you and EE for your efforts and for sharing.
Thanks for your perseverance to make a part of history remembered. Too much of history is not taught in our schools. Obviously, Utube is making it more difficult for this educational material to be available. Keep up the great work!
Will be eagerly waiting for part 2 to come out! Totally agree, they should restore at least one of the flak towers, preferably all, there with informational signs along with restoring the Czech hedgehogs.

Another great video my friend. It looks like there was some repurpose ideas post war but didn't work out or last. Such a shame that all the tank obstacles are just sitting and rotting. It seems fewer and fewer people care about the history. You and EE stay well and safe out there.

What an amazing site, with so much still left to see, as you say, the size if these flak bunkers is just mind blowing. They really did intend to protect something important further in land, I hope we get a chance one day to see what that was. History is so important, and I love the way EE has taken on your passion, and is eager to learn, thank you both for sharing with us. Stay safe and well my friends
You are absolutely right these historical locations should have informative plaques for future generations to be aware of the struggles of their fore fathers so they could enjoy the freedoms they have today and that these freedoms came at a cost .so they can be grateful for what they have .keep up the good work HH and EE

37 mm AA not much a popular Flak btw. German Air Raid Department still prefer 88 mm and 105 mm Flak. 40 mm Bofor (captured British Flak ), 37 mm and 20 mm Flak usually use to protect key point component such as bridge etc. 128 mm came later after an issue of B-17 High Attitude Bombing. Surprisingly seeing those fortification flak still exist, usually they were demolished.
I learn so much from your videos about WW2, it boggles my mind on the manpower & probably slave labor to build these, they had to make their own cement on site, how many men? Maybe that could be a video on how they made these bunkers, the men power, the length of time to build.... I think I can say for everyone that we all appreciate you talking us thru the bunker, what the room was for, the equipment & how it was use, your knowledge is unbelievable of these bunkers... Thank you & Eli for all your time & help explaining these bunkers & showing us our past history thru your videos, it is amazing, totally amazing how the Germans made so many of these bunkers in a short time......Stay Safe..
It's very sad that they've chosen to board up those bunkers. I can only imagine what history resides within; I get the feeling that these bunkers were rather more important than the usual. Otherwise, greetings to you and Eagle Eyes!
Those are some serious bunkers. Interestingly at 09:47 there is the 'Kilroy was here' graffiti on the tin roof sheet on the floor, typically from WW2 American troops, the first troops assaulting the areas and moving on would leave it adorned on walls and the like to let the next soldiers coming through that American soldiers had already been there before. In the UK, it was known as Chad and accompanied with a Wot No phrase, moaning about the rations and food shortages.
I am curious of the logistics and infrastructure of making and pouring of all of the concrete used in the Atlantic wall. just how did they make and get all of that concrete to so many remote locations . Was it all mixed by hand or could they get trucks there ?
I have to say THANK YOU for all you and your family do to keep history alive in hopes it never happens again. There are some cultures trying to say it was all a lie and it never happened.
I totally agree. It is a shame that everything was destroyed or buried. I also believe we need to take whatever is left and restore it to what it was like in WWII, or we take a chance of repeating history.
There has obviously been a lot of Post-War military use at those bunkers, what with the roofs added over the Flak gun positions, and that awful paintwork. But at least that's probably what saved those Czech hedgehogs from being cut up for scrap, or souvenired. I agree with you though, it would be great if that whole bunker complex could be cleaned up, and at least partially, restored to it's original state, so that future generations will know the history their ancestors lived through. Whitewashing, or forgetting, History, only leads to it being repeated. We must never forget the sacrifices, and horrors, that our forebears endured. Thank you for sharing this amazing site with us. Cheers to you both! Stay Safe!
Yes not so nice details from post war but i have to say i loved to see that location as it is today. Great explore and THANK YOU Peter for being here :)
great to hear a father say his children are going to learn aboout the values of life...i watch the videos you guys put out and its real shame you tube is worried more about someone's singing cat over the history of the world. I am a us navy vet, and my father enlisted middle of 1944 when he recieved word his brother was lost behind enemy lines during a parachute mission on d-day. my dad enlisted, and in november of 1944 followed Patton which got him into the Ardennes forest battle of the bulge. He made it home in late 1945 after receiving the broonze star but ignoring a ceremony for a purple heart just to get home. Thank you for allowing everyone to see the places these courageous men fought and died. we were a lucky family both my father and uncle returned home from this war. Some cousins weren't during the pearl harbor attack weren't as lucky KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND THE GREAT JOB RAISING THAT BOY!
GREAT BUNKERS AND REALLY NICE TO SEE SOMEONE TAKES CARE OF IT AND YEAH THE DAMP AIR REALLY BREEDS THE MOLD , YOU CAN FEEL THE HISTORY AROUND YOU , AWWW COMMON JUST STRAP THE TANK OBSTACLE TO THE ROOF 🤣🤣 TAKE CARE AND MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIENDS ⛄🎄🤶🎅
@@WW2HistoryHunter Sorry. Kilroy was an American thing that goes back to WWII. If you're not already aware of it, look it up. I just thought it was an interesting tidbit in that video.
The History behind those flack gun bunkers i would have loved to have been with you to exploer them with you i wonder if a Canadian was ever in those bunkers how long it has been or if ever loved this video
It is a shame that these places aren't open and shared with the public for people to learn from the mistakes made by others. They don't want our children to learn. They don't want us to have free will. They want sheep and I'm not one of them. I think all history should be preserved and learned from. The complete truth of war, not their glossed over version. I'm sorry. Sometimes I get carried away. Excellent content in this one HH. I thank you and EE for once again sharing this wonderful adventure. Take care and stay safe and Merry Christmas to you all. 🎄💖💯
Very interesting place indeed. Sad that they had the other bunkers sealed off; would have been great to see the inside as well. I noticed you said you couldn't locate that other small place that was for the troops? Did I read that wrong? I take it that this was located near the 3rd bunker? Can't wait to see what the Germans did, sloppy, as you said, in the next part. Germans were not sloppy back then. Hello to EE.
Thanks
Greatly appreciated Ted and will come in handy in future explores :) Greetings and satay safe.

Great explore and THANK YOU Peter for being here :)
great location overthere
Indeed and thanks.
I am curious as to why the bunkers have rounded corners on the exterior !
i think that was integrated to help the bunkers to deflect incoming rounds / bombs better. Thanks for watching.
great to hear a father say his children are going to learn aboout the values of life...i watch the videos you guys put out and its real shame you tube is worried more about someone's singing cat over the history of the world.

@@WW2HistoryHunter Sorry. Kilroy was an American thing that goes back to WWII. If you're not already aware of it, look it up. I just thought it was an interesting tidbit in that video.
Mini museums or renovate into rental cabins!

Great place and loved to share that with you :
i was intrested in ww1/2 specaily ww2 from when i was very little , and only the german side , i'm now 36 and still love the german history
Glad to read that you enjoy history and thanks for being here :)
Totally agree NO ONE should try to muffle history in any way. Thanks so much Julie for being here
with us :)
Ty
Thanks Mark :)
Oh i think i spotted your van through the blue painted shutter?
no that was some repair guys climbing some kind of antenna outside. Thanks for being here David and greetings from us :)
Hello to EE.
yes we could not locate that last structure and i think it is either a buried bunker or torn down. Thanks for being here :)
