    Nicely done. I would suggest cutting your ruffle a little wider and just folding it in half and sewing it to gather, rather that making a hemmed edge.

    You did a really good job on your cushion. Now having said that, you probably went about making the buttons the most difficult way possible. I’m not saying this as criticism, quite the opposite. Your ingenuity is great. I’m sure you did, like a lot of us are these days, and used what you had. My mother and grandmother used to make covered buttons all the time. I inherited all their button making and belt making materials. I wish I had someone to pass them on to because I know I won’t use them. Most of my sewing days are behind me. It always thrills my heart to see young people who are sewing these days. I have sons, no daughters, so unless my granddaughter’s want me to teach them and inherit my stash, I don’t know where it will go. I even have my grandmother’s rhinestone and stud setter. It is made of iron...just like an iron skillet. I have all the attachments, too. It’s an awesome door stop, lol. Well, listen, you keep up the good work and I’ll keep watching. 😊👍🏻🦋

    That seat cushion is soooo adorable. Ur good sewer. I’ve tried making pillows like urs ago n it took me along time just to do two. I just don’t have the touch to see on a machine ( I’ve 2 of them). I have to admit this I flick sew in junior high. I’m embarrassed to say so LOL. I can’t even see a straight line.😊 u must see a lot or have in the past cuz I’m sure that other machine ( can’t spell it n Siri didn’t understand what I was saying LOL) comes in real handy it definitely does better than a zig zag. That material was really pretty. It reminded me of ticking n I love ticking. In fact that what I used to make those pillows. The ruffle really does give it some femininity. So sweet. Once again u hit it to the ball park.
    ♥️😊👍

    I like the cushion. I am concerned about feeling those buttons sewn on. I am wanting to make a cushion for an 82 year old man and want the cushion to be soft for him. Any ideas or your experience with comfort sewing on buttons?

      Also, after measuring your seat how much more to allow for seam allowances? I don't have a serger.

    • @TheRetroFarmhouse
      @TheRetroFarmhouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would do a 1/4 seam allowance. Also I don’t feel my buttons when sitting on it but you could use the thinnest ones you can find and just make sure to stuff the stuffing tightly. This allows more cushion. You could also just omit the buttons and if you wanted the same tufted look, just hand stick a few stitches in places to create the tuft look.

      Hi Fabi. I’d haveto sell it through my Etsy shop. As of right now I don’t have anything like that in my shop but after the first of year I plan on adding more things and can consider adding this if I have more interested. 😊
