Your tortoises look like they have a nutrient deficiency. Because of the pyramid formations on the shells. Do consider a change in diet. They look adorable. 😊
Thanks for the concern. I have been trying desperately to locate photographs of a 2 year old sulcata tortoise that weighs over 26 lbs. That said, it is always growth in conditions that are too dry and not humid enough that causes pyramiding. Nothing concerning nutrient deficiency. He spent all of his first year in humid conditions above 80% and now spends 100% of his time around 40-60%. When witnessing growth very fast, also there is a cycle of the scutes on the carapace spreading and then filling in. This happens on a biweekly cycle. They spread and get longer and wider and then "fill in" until they spread again. It is not linear.
He's about 17" and almost 30lbs @ 2yrs 1mo. Stump is all over tortoise forum. org since birth with published weight. Check out Len "Thomas" "Walker" and "Donald". All similar size and weight at this age.
He's so adorable 🎉❤
I told him. LOL
You spoil Stump like I spoil my 2 princesses Noelle and Holly

How is a 20 inch sulcata only 20 months old. That makes zero sense I’m sorry.
