      @@drewcundari8773 I remember one tournament when I was really new. I had COMPLETELY forgotten my cards, so I just played the flop imagining I had the nuts. Everyone folded, and I loudly announced that I needed to remember my cards and that we can all do it together as I flipped them over. The guy to my left absolutely lost his shit!!! He was so mad. He lost the tournament soon after that. After that time, though, I've made sure to look at my cards for an extended amount of time to give myself plenty of time to memorize them. I try to never look at my cards more than the one time.

    Brad I like your videos. Your honesty and comical relief make me laugh every time. I've been playing close to 20 years. I am definitely a winning poker player. According this vlog, It appears that you are playing most of your hands out of position. I would suggest playing more hands IN position. Even if you're getting the right price, it's OK to fold and lose the absolute minimum. Unless of course you are raising out of position And taking control of the hand. Have a monster hand, if you are going to do that. Best of luck!! PS. I live in Vegas. I play at the Venetian and Caesars mostly.

    Wow. I normally do not like writing something negative but I must comment. When you commented that the opponent looked at his cards when the diamond came out and that meant that he did not have the flush I nearly jumped out of my socks. I may not be a great player but that clearly is a tell that he had the flush. $800 bet also clearly indicated that it was not a bluff and had to have flush with A or K high. At least you gave brutal honest commentary , so respect for that.

    That flush over flush hand: I never quite know what to make of it when a player double checks their cards on the river, they could on one hand, like you surmised, be checking to see if they have a diamond, (like checking to see if the red ace they're holding is a D" or as was the case in this hand, they could be doing some deception, knowing full well what it looks like they're doing. What are your thoughts on this, what do you typically think when a player does this?

    • @BradOwenPoker
      @BradOwenPoker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think most of the time it's genuine forgetfulness, particularly on flops, and occasionally good players will do it to balance their "checking cards again" range, which seemed to be the case in this hand.

    I do have a question for you Brad.
    Right now I really just play in a home game - sadly it is not happening right now due to the pandemic. I would say I have good results there, but I would like to test myself against better players.
    What is a good method/way/plan to move into live cash games? What level should I start at? How much money should I 'invest' behind me? It is pretty obvious that a new player should NOT be jumping into 5-10 at the Bellagio.... probably not even 2/5.
    I would appreciate your thoughts/ideas.
