I think we all need to accept that Bohemia is just subpar game devs that got lucky with a successful game. Anything that they make and actually works is a god send
To be fair, the framework for it was laid 10 years ago by the community as ArmA 2 DayZ mod - the buggiest, most beautiful and enraging masterpiece I've ever played. Bohemia didnt really do anything regarding the mod until it was already a proven concept.
If it werent for the mod and the mods of that mod such as Epoch, Origins, Overpoch etc, we wouldnt be playing DayZ today and plenty of other games wouldnt have existed. ArmA 2 mods were basically the start of Battle Royale as an entire genre aswell, starting with Thunderdome and DayZ Hunger Games events.
@@ownzies100I think about this all the time, when day z stand-alone first came out I expected something crazy like way different. Then I seen it and was like oh shit this just the mod with better graphics and smoother gameplay. Well, kind of smoother, at times... haha. I still love it though, and am thankful for Bohemia keeping it alive, but is true they don’t have any claims to the birth of day z.

But doing things like pretending to be friendly and then, essentially, shooting them in the back after you've earned their trust, in my opinion, is disgraceful behavior. It shows a total lack of integrity, and good sportsmanship.

To be honest, Dayz standalone is hell of a lot harder game to play if you play as a "hero" as in do not kill on sight and try to help others instead of taking their shit. Developers ruined the games survival aspect completely by ignoring the issues for years and years more. It will never be a survival game anymore, its completely KOS PvP deathmatch and who has the best hacks or largest groups usually wins.
P.S
The punches do absolutely fucking nothing unless you can continue the smacking. If the player has even couple of seconds to run away and no get hit -> you have to start all over again with the fisting.
Just like Survivor the TV show it turned to shit
you have to play on the right servers. plenty of 1pp hardcore servers with no trader or over done mods that are survival oriented. - 6k hours
When I fist people they usually squirm but I can hold them down long enough to finish so I'm not sure what you mean by that last part. Sometimes I miss or I'm in an open area though but for the most part I can fist people until they're finished

This is why people play community for their preferred experience. Official is sweaty, abusive, and almost always KOS past anywhere other than the coast. But this alone wouldn’t be bad if duping wasn’t such a big problem. How do you expect to compete when people have 20 DMR’s, M4’s, AK’s etc. because they exploited the game.
