That sounds exciting! Dubai is a fantastic destination, and I’m sure you and your little one will have a great time. Traveling with a 20-month-old can be challenging, but it’s also such a memorable experience. Be sure to pack some snacks, toys, and a favorite comfort item for the flight to keep your baby entertained. Safe travels and enjoy your trip! 😊
Thanks for sharing your experience We are going travel first time with kid he will be 21 month old our flight is from USA to India My son cant fit in crib so we brought his ticket. Emirates told us to bring his car seat so he can seat in seat otherwise they will not allowed. For meal Emirates said they will not give meal for a they will provide only baby food which is formula and all not even kids menu… so bring ur meal with you for infant. Please response so we get more idea…🙏
That sounds exactly like our experience too! When we traveled, they mentioned they wouldn’t provide a specific meal for our little one but would offer “baby food”-mainly applesauce and squeeze pouches, which didn’t end up being our son’s favorite. Thankfully, they did have fresh fruit, and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. We prepared by bringing Gerber cereal, apples, formula, and a variety of snacks, like baby teething puffs, cookies, and frozen yogurt-things we don’t typically give him but packed just in case. For a long flight, it’s better to have these options on hand. The crew was also very supportive and happy to give us warm water for his instant cereal whenever needed. Plus, you can share your meal with your little one; our son loved the desserts and fruits they offered! Overall, it will go well-just come prepared with a few snacks, engaging toys, and stickers (a lifesaver for us!). Hope you have an amazing journey, and we’d love to hear how it goes! Safe travels!
@ Thanks for response.. i am so nervous right now because of this long flight. How about car seat? They told me if you book infant seat you have to have car seat with you.
We totally understand where you're coming from! We didn’t book a seat for our son either, mainly because we wanted to avoid the hassle of carrying a car seat. But yes, that was the first and last time we tried it! After age 2, Emirates requires each child to have a dedicated seat, and bringing a car seat becomes necessary. An alternative to the car seat is a harness that you can find on Amazon (amzn.to/3Z13VBn). When we spoke to the Emirates staff, they mentioned it’s allowed, but policies can change, so it’s a good idea to double-check with them before you go. Here's their FAQ for reference: www.emirates.com/english/help/faq-topics/special-assistance-and-requests/faq/are-there-special-services-if-i-m-travelling-with-young-children-or-infants/. I totally get how you’re feeling-we were in the same boat last year. But trust me, it’s not as stressful as it might seem right now. One thing we’ll definitely remember for future trips is avoiding long layovers! That was the most tiring part of our journey back from India. Other than that, everything else was smooth, and we look back on that trip as one of our best memories. Emirates even made it extra special by taking photos of families traveling with kids-such a thoughtful touch to capture a memorable journey! You’ve got this, and it’ll be a trip to remember for years to come! Safe travels!
Thank you so much for your kind words and concern for his well-being! ❤️ We usually limit screen time to protect his eyes, but long flights can be challenging. We find ourselves making exceptions during travel to keep him entertained and to get through the journey smoothly. It’s comforting to know others share our concerns and understand the choices we sometimes have to make. Thanks for your support! 😊
Here’s what we experienced: Emirates did allow us to use the microwave onboard for warming up food, though we didn’t need to use a refrigerator, so I can’t confirm if that’s an option. We traveled with baby formula instead of cow’s milk, as it’s easier to carry and doesn’t spoil as quickly-something to consider since you'll likely be at the airport for a while before boarding, and any layovers could further affect food or milk. As an alternative idea, if you prefer carrying cow’s milk, you might consider bringing a thermos to keep it at a safe temperature for as long as possible. And for homemade food, packing items that stay fresh longer or don’t require refrigeration can help. Safe travels, and I hope you have a smooth experience with Emirates!
So how much weight did you bring for your son's checked in baggage? Im also planning to travel with emirates and i have a 13 months old child so wanted to know the weight for below 2 yr child checked in baggage
They allowed us 23 kg check in luggage and 11kg Carry on and you can carry the stroller in addition to this . But the airlines keep changing their rules and luggage limits so please do check the website before you travel www.emirates.com/ENGLISH/BEFORE-YOU-FLY/BAGGAGE/
Nope not for 2 Years or Younger. But its a requirement after 2 years , Also some people use an alternative Travel Harness For Kids - Toddler Travel Restraint amzn.to/3NIWqIO . But please check with the airlines before making any decision as all these rules vary from airlines to airlines.
I'm coming back to india at 7:35pm from international flight at delhi airport..n then i wants to book Another domestic flight from there so...can i catch the flight of 10:40 from delhi?
Hey .. 3 Hours is like a good bandwidth to get into another flight. But few things to keep in mind Delhi Airport is divided into mainly 2 terminals one for Domestic T1 and then there is an International Terminal T3. The catch is there are few domestic flights that take off from T3 as well. So, in case the flight that you are coming from and the next domestic connecting flight is from the same terminal then nothing to worry about . But if you have to get the flight from different terminal then Delhi Airport provides a complimentary shuttle bus service for passengers, every 20 minutes between both the domestic and international terminals. In case shuttle is not available and is not on time try to get a cab to the other terminal. Also, if possible give a call to the airlines you are traveling with and they will guide you better. Hope this helps. Have a happy and safe journey!
Thanks for this upload i went through so many videos! but couldnt find any this detailed about luggage! its shocking they only allow one carry on! all other carriers allow one carry on and 1 personal item!...do they casue issues with sizes of the checked in bags? as on their site it says checked in bags should be 59 linear inches and all normal checked in bags are around 61 to 62 inches, please let me know as ill be travelling soon as well!
Hello! From my experience, the handling of carry-on luggage can vary depending on the day and the staff on duty. Generally, it’s best to adhere to the airline's specifications to avoid any issues at the counter. Most airlines permit one carry-on plus a laptop bag, provided the laptop bag contains only the laptop. If you’re not carrying multiple electronic devices and need to bring extra items, consider packing them in a way that allows easy transfer to checked luggage if necessary. For those traveling with children, it’s advisable to strictly follow the guidelines provided on the airline’s website. While the size of the bag might not seem crucial as long as it's under the weight limit,. To avoid any surprises, I recommend contacting the airline a few days before your flight to clarify what you can bring and confirm these details directly. I hope this advice helps! Wishing you a safe and pleasant journey.
Hey Kailas , Each Airline has different policy . Its best to check with the airlines website and if you have any questions there is no harm in calling the airlines get more info . We travelled by emirates and this what they offer.: Passengers traveling with infants (under two years of age) have different baggage allowances based on your itinerary. All routes, excluding travel to and from destinations in the Americas and Africa: One cabin bag not exceeding 22 x15 x 8 inches (55 x 38 x 22 centimeters) and a maximum of 5kg (11lb) Checked‑in baggage up to 10 kg (22 lb) All routes to and from the Americas and Africa: One cabin bag not exceeding 22 x 15 x 8 inches (55 x 38 x 22 centimeters) and a maximum of 5kg (11lb) The baggage allowance will be shown on the infant’s ticket. You can also ask our check‑in staff if space is available for you to carry any one of these items on board free of charge: Fully collapsible stroller Infant's portable bassinet Infant’s car seat If you’d like to carry an approved car seat, please get in touch with us to purchase an additional aircraft seat at the appropriate child fare.
You can ask for it but there is no guarantee (at least that was the case with our airlines ) Its always better to carry your formula and cerelac / baby food . They will warm the water or milk for you .
