Nice video. I climbed in 1 day on 4th May 2021. Yushan trailhead [2 am] with lamps on.--> Paiyun Lodge [5:45 am]-->Summit [~8 :10 am]--> Paiyun Lodge Lunch [~10:15 am]--> Trailhead [1:30 pm]. I carried two small boxes of my own prepared veg food and some chocolates. Total distance [~24 km]. Reaching at 8-9 am is advantageous as most of the morning loud crowd had already left the peak allowing me to enjoy the silence at the top.
Thank you 😊 Avoid carrying too much! Get your meals from the lodges when you can and only carry snacks and water. Make sure to layer and to have something breathable as an underlayer. Lucy struggled on the way back with the heat of the midday. Take it slow and enjoy the night sky!
We were meaning to do Snow Mountain as well, had some problems with timing and getting the permit. Also, we wanted to hike the tallest mountain in Taiwan (: Are you trying to decide between the two?
@@bakerstreet101 they are both pretty good options if difficulty is not an issue. If you are tight on time and or don't have a car we recommend Snow Mountain (easier to get to and less time required to go, complete and get back). If those are also not an issue go for Jade Mountain (tallest in Taiwan + amazing scenery too).

any reason why you chose Jade Mountain instead of Snow Mountain?

@@NomadBears yes, basically. I can only do one. I prefer the more scenic one, regardless of difficulty.

Lol what a foggy summit
We were there pretty early. Later that morning, once the sun fully came out, there was better visibility.
