I’m currently playing this as I write this and yes it is a reference to quick mans stage along with the W logo in the static background from Dr W in Rock Man. While playing this myself the shadow Devil turns into one of Dr Willys final boss robots that stomps on you with spikes on the bottom. I’m not sure why this guy didn’t go through that in this battle.
when I was a kid I never managed to defeat this boss, tried like 60 or so times, then gave up... years later I replayed the game and the fight seemed a lot easier, took me like 15 or so tries
Tip: when it’s transferring wall climb and spam the shit out of the wall jump. If you barely mess up you’ll lose a bit of heath but when you’re used to pain in your thumbs you should be able to avoid the awful patter
yeah, this boss just sucks ass. I mean, it mostly does because there is a random chance that the character you could have played as for 99% of the game just dies and you have to play as x for no reason... And dont get me started on the fact that you need to 100% squid adler's stage before you can even taste the benefits of having an armor!!!

I'm not too specific on the story of how Wily(in the afterlife and as computer data)is entirely involved other than what Sigma tells us but it's my guess Wily let Sigma get a hold of Yellow Devil's data and corrupted it with the virus.
I hated X's voice in this game so much. They could have just left X's voice the same as X4 like they did with Zero, but NOOO, they changed X's voice. At least X6's X and Zero get new voices and they are just as good as X4's if not better.
Because this was what the X series needed: A Devil Boss.

This stage is pretty easy once you activate Za Warudo.
