Usually 6 groups of 6-8 people per group, most days. They have spotters both next to the groups, and at each end of the bridge, they usually are groups of 2 men at the end of bridge as spotters. I managed to work this out through only 3 visits and a grand total of a few hours per visit. The police should be ashamed that they cannot get a grip of this despicable crime, ripping off innocent people and also when challenged they sometimes become extremely hostile.

I'm sure you've seen groups of tourists in similar attire. Then you walk up to the game. All watch what is going on, then you nick them. Next time its green tee shirts. Then its just an umbrella with a flag. Eventually they will suspect all tourist groups, and the legitimate tourist groups get them scared.

What I can tell you is that if an allegation is made by someone, even if it is not the victim but a third party, then a report goes on. Social media is considered a public space, therefore comments made on it fall under the Malicious Communications Act and Public Order legislation. If said report lands on an officer, then that officer is required to investigate it, and in some cases arrest people for said comments made on social media. Does that officer enjoy arresting people for making comments on social media? I don't know, personally I wouldn't enjoy it, but it would be part of my job nonetheless and would rightfully be expected to deal with it. What about officers that get dismissed for things said on private WhatsApp groups? Non-police officers generally don't lose their jobs, pensions, and get sent to court and sent to prison for things said on WhatsApp 5 years ago, whereas police officers do get that. So we get less rights than members of the public.
