  • One of Midjourney v5's most powerful features is the ability to create seamless pattern designs that can be arranged as tiles and repeated an infinite number of times. This super cool feature is easy to use and today I'll show you how to do it, as well as a few examples. I hope you enjoy the video!
Also, if you have suggestions for a future video, please let me know in the comments section!

I'm new to the world of AI and am loving Midjourney so far, I'm even new to Discord lol, but i'm having fun learning. Thanks for the great video!

Can I give it my own tile to repeat?

I just came across your channel searching for an answer. When I use an ai upscale the seamless pattern is gone. Is there a way to get around that? Someone said to not upscale in an ai upscale and go straight to vectorize it. I’m not sure I want to buy every program out there and then go broke before I can make a good product. I hope you can help. I’m using v5.2 ❤

Hi, I would recommend using a free tool such as vectorizer.ai to vectorize it first and go from there. This should help preserve the seamless pattern

any way to get it to bot at a certain size? for like a tumbler design?

Great question! There are certain upscale size limits depending on the type of upscale and what version of Midjourney you're using. Here's a link from their documentation that goes into some of the specifics: docs.midjourney.com/docs/upscalers#:~:text=You%20can%20use%20a%20Midjourney,to%20upscale%20the%20selected%20image.
If the upscaled images aren't the quality you need, you could convert it to a vector using another AI tool: vectorizer.ai/
Another feature you may find helpful is the aspect ratio parameter (--ar 2:3, --ar 16:9, etc). You can use this to change the aspect ratio of the output to meet your specifications. Hope this helps!

What program are you using to put all the tiles side by side?

For this video I just used Canva. I started with a really large blank canvas and then just lined them all up. If you're planning to print them, I would recommend converting to a vector first (try using vectorizer.ai) and then put it together with a vector editor (like Inkscape or Adobe Illustrator), but if it's just to create something quick and easy Canva works well.

you can use a seamless checker as well much easier - just google seamless checker
