  • Delta Wrap is a "Best" feature on any foundation. The Delta MS product is a dimpled polyurethane plastic membrane that is fastened to the exterior of the foundation wall improving the water drainage around the home and adding a comfort feature to the wall.

But they are drilling into the membrane below the ground level making holes for water to seep through the membrane....If water goes through the holes then we are ruining the function of installing the membrane which is to keep groundwater away from the wall....

Buddy with the screw gun is not using the washers, but just screws. That so called installation would void the warranty. I am surprised Shell did not catch that. Cheers.

Anyone that uses this type of system as their primary below grade waterproofing is a fool.
You do not know what you are talking about. First it takes a VERY SIGNIFICANT crack ( not typical cracks) for properly applied quality waterproofing to leak. Drainage board is great when used with proper waterproofing. As a primary waterproofing ,drainage board is garbage. First of all it relies on sealant to seal the laps. A very weak system. Second of all because it is non adhered any small damage anywhere in the system means the entire system fails. It also relies 100% on the drainage tile. Any problem with the drainage tile or if it gets overwhelmed ,drainage board fails. We have used drainage board in the waterproofing industry for decades BUT NEVER AS PRIMARY WATERPROOFING. ONLY THE VERY CHEAPEST OF CONTRACTORS WOULD USE THIS AS PRIMARY WATERPROOFING. And only someone with no knowledge of waterproofing would recommend it. But leave to the home building industry to cut out the actual waterproofing. And instead use what the waterproofing industry uses as “ protection “ for real waterproofing. The same industry that routinely uses the lowest quality sealants possible on the exterior envelope.

You seem very knowledgeable. I'm in the process of building a block wall basement. What primary waterproofing product do you recommend? I plan to use Delta MS as secondary. I appreciate your advice and suggestions. Thank you

@@awakentruth1116 bituthene works really well. But you have to follow the directions, use primer and roll everything very well ,eliminating all bubbles.

does it matter which side the dimples faces?

Since this assbag didn't reply, yes. The dimples face inside-towards the foundation.

We purchased a home that is ~10 years old. On one side of the home there was a section of this drainage fabric that was exposed and starting to peel away from the foundation. We had the fabric reattached but are considering back filling against the fabric. Is it necessary for the Delta MS to be completely covered up?

Yes, otherwise UV will break it down if exposed to light.
